The protagonist is young and naive and wants to bind a familiar to him, but the fox familiar tells the protagonist a lie. She tells him that he needs to sign the silver contract because that's the color that masters sign. And that she needs to sign the gold contract because that's the one that familiars sign.

The fox becomes the master to the human and they live together until the human dies. But he reincarnates and the fox immediately recognizes her old beloved. And the cycle just kind of repeats, but she feels guilty for taking control of his life I think.
