Synopsis: Winter was once the only season in the world-but such an existence was too lonely to bear, and so it created Spring to love. Before long, the earth wished for more time to rest in the cycle, and Summer and Autumn were born. The ones who carry the cycle are called the Agents of the Four Seasons. Hinagiku, the Agent of Spring, disappeared from this land ten years ago, taking the season of spring with her. Now, after incredible hardship, she has returned to restore the cycle to its proper state-and, as in the myth passed down since the dawn of time, she sends her love to Winter. Oh, Ushio doing the OST is news I believe. Was already interested in this due to VE author and Yamamoto, but now I‘m looking forward to it even more.

Ooh, interesting. They got Hino Satoshi to reprise from the LN PV. Guess Hanazawa Kana is not available but Yoppi would be great for Sakura!

Anyone know if the source material is a fully completed story?
Fortolaze2026-01-21 02:50
No, it's still an ongoing series. We're at 8 volumes so far in the series with the Dance of Spring being the first arc or the first 2 volumes.

In addition to whatever is mentioned to the comment above me, we (source readers) suspect with 4 seasons x 2 volume + 2 archer volumes, it should end with volume 10 (Dance of Winter Part 2) unless there's a surprise continuation.
The release schedule (at least in Japan) looks to be annual, but just skipping 2025 as I suspect the author would definitely be busy with this anime adaptation. And oh, both "Dance of" parts come out in Japan simultaneously (judging by the previous releases).

Thank you for the detailed response! I'm very excited for this show.

WIT Studio + the author of Violet Evergarden sounds like a great combo!
Eliv2026-01-20 10:41
Wit studio, Violet Evergarden author and Kensuke Ushio? Damn
Kadmos12026-01-20 12:16
What is the TL;DR that Wit inherited AoT?
Salty1452026-01-20 11:09
I feel like they’re showing us everything they can that’s not a full trailer.
Unless I’m crazy and I just missed it.

I haven't gotten around to the novels yet but I really like the manga. The anime is shaping up to be a beautiful adaptation!
Mr_Rock-haley2026-01-20 14:51
This show looks absolutely fantastic!

Huh... wonder what kind of anime this will be? Something artistic like Disney's Fantasia, or more narrative driven? Will watch this when it comes out in any case.
