My Thoughts on My Hero Academia Movie 3: World Hero's Mission
This movie was fine. I'm getting the impression that these movies follow the typical trend of anime movies connected to anime series where they're sometiems fun additions but not fantastic. Even though they're canon, unlike the Demon Slayer movies, they aren't actually adapted from content in the manga. But yeah, this movie isn't great, but it's okay. Like always the animation and fights are fantastic from start to finish. One interesting plot point is that Deku gets framed for murder and has to go on the run briefly. When this happens he encounters a thief boy who has a Quirk that basically just prevents him from lying. Their foes in this film are a terrorist organization that believe in something called the "Quirk Doomsday Theory" basically a theory that the existence of Quirks is unnatural and they'll one day cause the end of the world. Because it's just a movie then they can't really dive deep into this concept. But I do at least appreciate that they tried to come up with something a bit unique for this film.

Quirk Doomsday Theory is something that is brought up in the show. The idea is actually that when Quirks first appeared, they were comparatively simple compared to the more complex and powerful quirks that exist in the time of the show because of how quirks combine and mutate. Bakugo's quirk is an example of this, being the combination of two somewhat mundane quirks but resulting in sweating nitroglicerin.
So Quirk Doomsday Theory is that just like how simple quirks combined with simple quirks to create complex quirks, so too will complex quirks combine with other complex quirks until they become too powerful to maintain or account for. Such will bring about "Quirk Doomsday" and many see it as an inevitability.
It is the difference between "Wow, my quirk is that I can stretch my eyeballs out of my head" and "wow, my quirk lets me shoot my fingers off my hand like little sharp rockets. They come back though".
