* Episode 3 = 2 kisses
* Episode 4 = by this rate it'll be a passionate Hug 😆
Edit: Yeah, once with the headache, once with the tea and once more in the shed-like place after Yua tried to use magic on Sei.

After last episodes beginning I realized I am not the target audience for sure. I'l continue watching however.
>sophistry
I picked up a new word today. Queer media educates 🏳️🌈
Maeno (Aresh) 👏🏾needs👏🏾 to be 👏🏾a Karuta 👏🏾poem 👏🏾reader
📢Look at them kiss, kiss, fall in love 📢
Hehe this is getting people used to “guiding”, bring on the guideverse please 🙏🏾
Kondou makes my IRL manager look so lazy (though to be frank, I don’t even know what she does).
>Kondou: I have no romantic interest in those younger than me
>Aresh: 😱🫠
🧨EmOtiOnAL dAmAgE🧨
It’s okay, bb, you still have a chance 💃🏾
I love when people assume an MC’s crushing on the opposite gender. Always with that assuming.
Those two men are gonna fuck around and found out 🔪
The ED sounds like it’s Sunday morning.
***
Overlay was weird. Episode title in JP getting overshadowed by the dialogue and translaying the episode tile at the *top of the screen* was a choice to do.
Waiting impatiently for a guideverse BL to be picked up for an anime adaptation. I want corporate, by the book guiding. I want stupid sexy guiding. I want hardcore and soft guiding.
Kento (Kondou) had me giggling today.
Kondou makes a valid point about managers. Not the overworking portion, but managers *should* have a wider spectrum of knowledge. It’s incredible some of the managers I had just…did nothing and knew nothing. Any questions asked was rerouted to “ask your peers” and then at department meetings, they would act like you should always go to them for help. They showed blatant favoritism. And they’d foist managerial ops onto seniors who were already overworked (and were passed for promos).
Management feels so fake sometimes 😭 A good manager can make you stick it out for god knows how long. Bad management just has me keep my head down, get mine, and keep an eye open on job opportunities.
For now we have 4 bl anime for this year (although one of them is a light anime, and unfortunately I'm not a fan of that "animation" style) + 2 bl manhwa animated adaptations (One room ta and low tide in twilight). But We need more BL anime!
There is a LONG list of popular bl manga which sell well, are popular and don't have smut (or is extremely limited). Hanakoi Tsurane, I cannot reach you, my love mix-up, if It's you I might try falling in love, love in the palm of his hand, Kitayama-kun to Minamiya-kun, can i buy your love from a Vending Machine, it turns out my online friend is my real-life boss, Minato's laundromat, etc
We ***do*** need more BL adaptations point blank, absolutely. I’d personally want more BL adaptations with disability representation or darker fantasy BLs (like what we have with *Roll Over and Die* for GL the season).
But now that we’re on the episode 3 discussion, my want for guidverse was just “Look! The people are prepared for guideverse!” with Aresh helping Kondou out. And considering we already have a BL omegaverse adaptation, the people are ready for ‘verses!
Maybe not nameverse or cakeverse though 😂
When BL erotica gets adapted, I’m still happy for it. Yes, there’s lots of popular non-erotic BL out there. I enjoy them. ***But*** I’m not wanting this to turn into pitting subgenres against each other for what’s more deserving of consumption, recommendation, and adaptations. I think we get enough of that in BL subs as is 😅
I’m just happy when BL (and GL and queer stuff) gets an adaptation. That means more people can enjoy the queer media I enjoy. Whether that BL is erotic or not, has disability rep or not, is dark fantasy or cosy fantasy—it’s nice to see and I’ma show up for them every time ☺️🏳️🌈
i think this is one of the shows that Crunchy uses the Netflix style subtitles instead of the fancy ASS-style subtitles
[there was some controversy around that last season](https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/1nuxuzs/crunchyroll_has_downgraded_their_subtitles/) and it seems like Crunchy has backtracked on it for now, but when i see a smaller title like this get kinda bad typesetting, it reminds me
Because CR has shown they can and do go the distance with typesetting, and the subs feel so natural to the setting.
But then you go to a different series, and suddenly, you can’t even tell who’s ***speaking*** and even the episode title isn’t translated 🤧
I guess Aresh may have started to realize that his feelings are romantic, otherwise he wouldn't be that shocked to hear Sei say that he doesn’t see younger people as a romantic partner
[](#romance)
Hmm, is it? I don't think so. The stylistic choices are akin to the Roman Empire of the classical period, which is decidedly before medieval Europe
And sexuality in that region and period was very different. Sexual relations between men were common, and not forbidden. And also not stigmatized... at least not as we today understand it. The sticking point was about who's active and who's passive, who's giving and who's receiving. Receiving was seen as a feminine role, as the lesser
As for relationships and love between men... that's even more murky and debatable. It's just that the mindset was quite different to ours, so mapping these directly doesn't really work.
I'm not sure where this fictional setting is going there, though

[](#justright)
Yeah, that escalated quickly....
not knowing about the source material made it pretty fun
I guess the title of the show is pretty clear about the premise being a hodge-podge, but I'm surprised it's coming together exactly as advertised. A lot of these "Isekai with a Hook" premises end up not following through with their hooks in a meaningful fashion.
yeah, one of the things i judge shows by is how much they stick to what makes them special instead of just kinda rolling into generic wish fulfillment or whatever
as annoying as he is sometimes, i like how Sei is still like "it doesn't matter how many times i have to kiss this guy, i'm going to fix these books"
The physical intimacy in this show is hilariously shoehorned in, though. It's like writing medical drama where doctors cure cancer through blowjobs and the protagonist has super cancer that keeps coming back. The logic of the setting makes sense internally, but I can't help seeing the writer warping reality to push dolls together.
like, the story hasn't really been exploring his sexual identity or him reveling in his newfound freedom, instead it's been about how sad it is to be a corporate drone and how difficult it is to deprogram it from his brain once it's been drilled in
that said, it's only been two episodes and maybe this is still setting the table for the actual story, but i think a typical story would've set its overall direction and theme by now
[](#harukathonk)
Similarly to the Aresh/Sei managerial differences dynamic, both Shiraishi and Sei display advantages and disadvantages. Shiraishi may be naive, but her social reputation is strong and she's clearly learning to wield magic with a dedicated effort. I'm also curious about how Kamil will get fleshed out.
You're correct that foundations are still being laid and it's tough to see endgame beyond tackling miasma or men kissing, but there's good stuff going on here that gives me confidence.

He's a workaholic. As in, he's a dysfunctional addict that would literally kill himself just to get a report in on time.
Then when saved, he goes right back into the meat grinder because clearly the problem was that he took one too many stimulants, and not that he was working so much he needed stimulants in the first place.
It's not that he's addicted to tonics, but that he's addicted to work. And yes, I use addiction with the strongest negative connotations considering his work/life balance was so brutally dysfunctional he nearly died and needs constant supervision or he'll just drive himself right back into the gutter.
My greater point? Seiichiro is so blasé over sex largely because he can't focus on anything else but work. Nothing but work is a priority to him. Nothing but work is worth thinking about. He can't process anything other than work work work work work.
That's why he was seriously considering the 'Overdose and emergency treatment' combo as a routine to do *every* night. As in, get strung out on stimulants until you nearly die, get healed, then pounded up the butt, each night, every night. Merely as a way of 'increasing my productivity.'
Because that's all he cares about. So his 'healthy views on sex' are really a direct consequence of his disturbingly unhealthy work/life balance.
I have a feeling that the saint may see him in a romantic way. In that case, I wonder how she will react when she'll find out that Aresh likes seiichirou (guess it's obvious he just realized his feelings for seii are romantic, or sei saying he doesn’t see younger people as a romantic partner wouldn't have been that shocking to Aresh XD)
I wonder who ordered those two to beat seii at the end of the episode. Maybe the Saint's attendees?
thinking about it now, there are a bunch of people in line to bonk Sei on the head: the knights he keeps rejecting budget requests for, his coworkers who may feel are harshing their buzz, the prime minister who still seems shady, the saintess who may sense that Aresh is getting in on her turf, etc.
A scapegoat, if you will.
Otherwise, the PM seems to view Sei as a useful pawn. I assumed Sei was a *disposable* pawn, hence why everyone is scared of the PM and Aresh 'warned' Sei about the PM's interest...
But the PM may legitimately want to keep Sei around.
i'm hoping it doesn't evolve into some sort of love triangle sort of thing; i'm not a fan of that kind of drama
like, one of the things about [The Saint's Magic Power is Omnipotent] >!(similar sort of set up with one accidental extra summon) that i liked is that the holy maiden doesn't turn into a villainess/antagonist sort of character!<
I feel like Yua's arc is playing off a typical shoujo isekai, so her being surrounded by cute/beautiful men that she assumes are romantic interests is par for the course... she's just in the wrong genre. but I get the feeling that Sei is going to be right about the sketchy undercurrent of the summoning situation, so that may drop in her priority list.
Also puppy boy (sei's collegue) seems to be the perfect love intrest as he is in suitable age range. Im kinda rooting for them after the convo they had
Hell, earlier this episode, Sei didn't even look at a request from the Third Order before saying "denied." He just knows they don't take the budget seriously and/or used to embezzling funds with no consequence.
And who is the captain of the Third Order? Why, our resident ~~male prostitute~~ love interest, Aresh. When he admitted to ignoring paperwork, Sei commented on how much sense that made. No one at the top is enforcing discipline or even aware of what's going on, so those beneath him got away with abusing this negligence.
Now both Seiichiro and Aresh are paying close attention to the paper work, and the people in teh Third that were used to abusing funds for personal reasons (embezzlement) are going to crack Seiichiro's kneecaps as he's the 'source' of this problem.
Best case scenario, they weren't *embezzling* funds so much as being very sloppy with their spending. However, I feel if these were legitimate purchases Seiichiro wouldn't be so angry and dismissive. He'd be talking about fiscal discipline and efficiency instead of writing an huge report showing how every department has systemically drained the emergency defense fund, right in time for the emergency, all while shitheads keep yelling at him for not being a rubber stamp.
now he can't use "i have a headache" as an excuse
[](#tomato)
I totally understand though. It's alleviating all his chronic pain! I'm sure that's hard to give up.
[](#niatilt)
Aresh is 22 and sei is 29. 7 year age gap isnt to bad given aresh seems more mature
You know who's older than Seichiro and already calls him without honorifics? The prime minister lol.
[](#sakurathink)
i assume this follows opposite logic to Kirara series where the other gender is assumed but not shown
Orjef was hilarious with how excited he was about Aresh's interest in work and romance.
I'm guessing the two Aresh questioned Orjef about are the two that kidnap Seiichirou at the end. I'm guessing they were using the money from the budgets for personal reasons and Seiichirou has prevented them. I'm looking forward to seeing how Aresh handles this when he gets news.
I hope Yua's attendant isn't going to be a problem, the two hardly interact and she chooses to sit with them but somehow to the attendant, Seiichirou is the problem. So stupid.
Aresh’s subordinate getting that excited to give love advice lmao
And Sei most likely still oblivious that any of the above things happened 😂😂
Also, the way they kiss each other so casually now 🤭🤭
This episode, he needed more Tao…. That kabedon and kiss😍
Which brings me to my biggest qualm about Seiichiro: I hope that he will at some point drop that working himself to death attitude. Tbh I find it pretty irritating. It would be nice if he developed a little healthier point of view.
You may have permission from your boss to take work home but not from your boyfriend.
Damnit, you better not be lying about those tonics. Oh for fucks sake.
I get why Aresh is concerned when every time he leaves, some life threatening incident seems to occur. At what point is it acceptable to put him on a leash to keep him within a range where he can be protected?
Please, don’t let the holy maiden’s unrequited crush screw up something important.
The dark aura when Aresh heard that he doesn’t date people younger than him is absolutely hilarious.
Once Seiichirou actually awakens the ability to feel romantic attraction from the void of work, the examinations and the “do you feel hot” questions are going to become a lot more awkward.
I like how he’s so ridiculously overprotective that he suggests maintaining a barrier on him for his safety at all times.
Character development, Aresh is actually doing work thanks to his crush.
Did this man just get kidnapped? This is about to do horrible things to Aresh’s overprotective tendencies.
This bit was so interesting to me! Because it's obvious that Aresh thought about it and discarded the idea, but not exactly why. Is he uncomfortable upping the intimacy past kissing again? (Because he's not into it or because he's *too* into it?) Does he think bringing it up would put pressure on Sei? Does he recognize that it's an overreaction and he can't justify it to himself the same way he can justify constantly mother-henning Sei and his terrible work/life balance?
He seems to take it as a done deal that Sei wouldn't agree, anyway, by the time he mentions it -- and Sei's easy acceptance of that logic didn't exactly prove him wrong haha.
But you're right that there is clearly a nuanced discussion unfolding among all the lunch & dinner dates.
I thought there's some issue with the episode due to the like x comment ratio, but this episode is decent.
RIP this relationship since Seiichirou said younger people are not his type.
Vice commander interested in romance talk was hilarious.
Nice kabedon
OMG A KISS
Bros never gonna learn he’s gotta stop skipping meals lol
I feel like lowkey the kissing isn’t actually required haha
lol I’m w areah she’s insufferable haha dealing w someone half your age lol
Awwww poor guy. He’s so baby
Damn possessive!
Whoever’s tryna f*cl w him is gonna die lol
Also, Aresh had me cracking up in this episode.
I thought this was a decent episode and people who doesn't like BL should have left
...And then I look at myself and realize that I am him. I have been in that position. Minus the obvious fantasy part. So egg on my face!
Seichiro shutting down the attendant with a quick retort was satisfyingly funny. Seems like Sei isn't that much of a pushover which gives me hope his character development will actually be meaningful and enjoyable to watch.
Aresh being 22yo was actually surprising ngl. I'd guessed he was mid 30s.
I prefer to binge watch but this show makes waiting difficult lol.
Did not expect him to be 8 years younger than Sei though. Poor Aresh really took that 'I don't go for younger people' comment to heart. I'm sure you're an exception, sir!
And it seems like Aresh will start looking into his order's finances more. If only to match his values with Sei's.
This episode was very cute until that end. I hope Sei is okay! Come save him quick, Aresh!
ALSO them having sex SO early on was such a surprise.
Now to suffer the slow burn.
