It's mostly used by smaller translators who couldn't get an upload-approved account on the big one, though.
I remember getting the second Princess Principal movie with subs there weeks before it got a discussion thread on /r/anime.
That was literally the only time I used it though, so I even can't remember the name.
Kanna’s VA Maria Naganawa did an absolutely fantastic job.
I also liked the whole Azad dragon war thing because we got to see Momma Kobayashi kick ass. Azad was a bit of a cliched villain but I did pity him in the end.
So is there gonna be a new Dragon Maid series? I don’t remember if they announced anything other than the movie.
So with their latest movie done (One that at least isn't a recap with most of the work already done), they could have enough hands to do another series for 2026 or 2027.
But we will have to wait to know for sure.
I was flipping VPN servers like crazy looking for one that had it.

Hopefully S3 is on a radar sometime after Ruri Dragon.
^Minor ^nitpick ^about ^the ^movie ^though, ^did ^anyone ^else ^notice ^lack ^of ^soundtrack ^in ^most ^of ^the ^movie? ^It ^was ^sometimes ^quite ^distracting. ^Weird ^thing.

*****
The movie with a lot of heart that I needed right now. Not a perfect happy ending, but as with life, it's a work in progress.
It's a fantastically pretty movie. I'd watch it again right now if it wasn't the middle of the work week.
Elma and Fafnir coming out against fifty-to-one odds with their hair a little mussed was quite a demonstration of relative power levels. Tohru gets the most kinetic fights between the aerial combat and pro wrestling with Kimun.
Heart *and* brains saves the day, though.
Everyone pretty much got a moment to show off though, though Elma compratively had the least to do (she did get her moment in S2); Ilulu put up a very solid shift too, and Lucoa just casually reminds us how OP she actually is.
Probably the most action ive ever watched from kyoani, and boy do they deliver on the goods.
Lucoa and Tooru kinda just ended it with an indifferent "tough luck that dragons killed your family, one day you'll get over it", which is kinda the same cold indifference that all the main cast were criticizing Kimun for.
They could've done more with Azad considering the backstory they gave him leading to a somewhat understandable reason for his bloodlust.
If an animal such as a lion, a shark, an elephant or even a dog were to kill someone you love, would you make it your life's mission to kill every member of that animal species? Bc that's basically what happened to Azad and what he was looking to accomplish.
His trauma is justified, but his actions aren't.
Not to mention, it had so much heart. Kyoani delivers every time [](#kannathumbs)
1. Kobayashi seemed a bit more girly than in the show. She had a few more 'girl' outfits and I swear they drew her more curvy (not in the important parts, though) than in the show. I assume this is because more budget = more time = more pencil action.
2. Also, that scene of Kobayashi with Kanna sitting on her lap. I love their relationship so much.
3. Watching Kanna fight was freaking amazing. I love her adorable side, but reminding us that she's a badass dragon was really cool.
4. I don't think I have ever seen Ilulu in shorts before, and it seemed... weird? She wears pants when working at the candy store, but the shorts were something new.
5. Lucoa with her eyes open. Right into my soul.
6. Tohruu is perfect as usual, but that airal battle was great.
I do hope this got a great reception because I really do want more seasons, given some of the cool story arcs that are in the manga.
Imagine if at your work the CEO's 30 year old daughter destroys crucial infrastructure and puts everyone's jobs in danger. Wouldn't you be pissed at that person? Now imagine if this endangers your actual life instead of just your job. Kana's prank doesn't seem so cute and innocent now does it.
But of course since the theme of the series is "dragons are just like us", Kimun changes his mind in the end. What's ironic is that in the end when Tohru and Lucoa cornered Azad they basically told him to get over the fact that dragons killed his family. Their criticism that he "didn't have anyone to protect" clearly makes no sense as he obviously wanted to protect his sister. So in the end the moral of the story is might makes right? A weird conclusion to the story and they should have expanded on this last bit more.
Regarding Azad; I thought it was clear they were referring to his current actions, that he wasn't trying to protect anyone now so he's no saviour.
And Tohru tells him straight out Kobayashi changed her way of thinking and hopes he meets someone like that (in other words, hoping he gets the opportunity to live well again).
Could they have done a bit more? I suppose, but it was more than enough for me.
Kimun imo was perfect, imo; showing very clearly that in the dragon framework he's not a 'bad' guy.
Only once he is introduced to the new concept could we start evaluating him on human terms. When he starts walking after Kanna at the end, he doesn't even understand what he's feeling but he knows he can't lose his daughter again.
As a manga reader, Lucoa and her one single definitive act in the Kimun fight really hit hard. She's one of my favourite characters and it was a hell of a thing for her to intervene (and so cool too haha).
Only criticism I have.... The movie sounded empty?
The sound design was great, voice acting sharp, just a lack of background sounds or music left me feeling it was a bit, empty sounding.
9/10.
This movie was released on Father's Day in Japan last year, so it matches the theme of Kanna's longing for her father.
Who better to voice Kanna's rather scummy dad than the VA of Ikari Gendo, Shinji's dad from Evangelion? But thanks to the effort of Kobayashi's ~~Spirit Bomb~~ One-Off Cheat Code Mega Dragon Orb, she managed to literally beat some sense into Kimun.
I completely forgot the fairy guy that Kanna befriended in season 2, but that friendship came in handy as he and his daughter came in time to rescue Kobayashi from being literally eaten by the monsters in that forest (as well as retrieving Kobayashi's iPhone lol ).
Besides that, Kobayashi also has human technology to thank for thwarting Azad's treachery. Just replaying a simple recording of Azad's confession through the phone (with the aid of Tohru's volume amplification magic), the warring dragons were instantly convinced in ending their pointless war prior to Azad mind controlling them and requiring Elma and Fafnir to step in.
Even Lucoa briefly sidestepped her neutrality to give Kanna's family reunion a nudge.
Saikawa really values her friendship with Kanna, being the most devastated by Kanna's brief departure and the most joyful when Kimun lets Kanna return to live with Kobayashi.
