Are there any other mecha isekai worth checking out?
I enjoyed watching Knights and Magic, and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for other Isekai with Mechs in them that would be worth checking out.
Hi aaa1e2r3, it seems like you might be looking for new anime to watch!

Escaflowne, but i think you might need to pirate it since its hard to find
aaa1e2r32026-01-20 20:16
Just looked it up, apparently Apple currently has the rights to it.
Cephalo_Kayum2026-01-20 20:40
Yes, I remember it was a ground-breaking anime.
TheMaroonComet2026-01-21 06:40
You can purchase it on Apple TV (and presumably Android’s storefront)

The blu rays (and uh, blu ray rips) look absolutely insane. Like this is peak post-Evangelion TV anime budget boom.
Mexican-weeb2026-01-20 20:17
Magic Knight rayearth
I haven't watched it but I played through its story(not the exact same) in srw30 and I found it fun
Purposelygentle2026-01-20 21:01
Rayearth has a reboot/sequel coming out this year. Might be fun to watch the original before it airs to compare.

Escaflowne and Rayearth
LecturePersonal34492026-01-20 20:40
I know I'm the fourth person to recommend The Vision of Escaflowne - but it is just that good.
Albireookami2026-01-20 20:42
Tenchi Muyo: War on Geminar is a pretty good one, if you don't mind a side of harem.
And on the harem, its really good and fleshes the girls out pretty damn well.

Came to recommend Tenchi. Solid OVA, was entertained throughout

The OG is Dunbine
WhichFun57222026-01-20 20:53
Mobile Suit Gundam, and Evangelion.
Sometimes its better to return to the classics.
donniedarko55552026-01-20 21:19
Techhnically The Big O counts as an Isekai and if were talking classics this one was philosophically as interesting as Evangelion but I get its western art style can be a turn off
plastikmissile2026-01-22 05:41
Neither are isekai though.

Hear me out.
**MobaSeka** ( it’s real title is Trapped in a Dating Sim: The World of Otome Games is Hard for a Mob). It’s fun and stupid. He has a giant mech that wields a shovel. Season 2 was just announced for this year. It’s a solid 6/10 but I really enjoyed it.
**RahXephon**. It’s great. I consider it an isekai based on the “twist” near the end.
Quiddity1312026-01-21 00:58
I suppose one could argue RahXephon is an isekai in the sense that it is very much a "fish out of water" situation for the main character after the first 2 episodes.

I'm the evil lord of an intergalactic empire. I found it entertaining. It came out last year.

Escaflowne

muv luv, but anime adpatation is bad.
Atharaphelun2026-01-20 23:10
Heroic Age is my absolute favourite. Absolutely amazing worldbuilding and great story. The soundtrack also elevates it into a masterpiece.
Quiddity1312026-01-21 00:57
The big mecha isekai I can think of are Escaflowne and Dunbine. Escaflowne was and remains to this day one of my all time favorite anime. Dunbine starts off good but unfortunately is an anime for which I've lowered my opinion on it every time I've rewatched it.

Dual Parallel Trouble Adventure
Tenchi Muyo War on Geminar
One episode of Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi

If it were tanks or helicopters instead of robots.
