Is Frieren trash now?
Is her party financially struggling to make them relatable?
I find this season boring and forgettable so far, like they're trying to make more money by adding filler for more seasons, but what triggered this was how none of them thought to unearth the magical stones. Even a tnt spell.
She somehow lived for a thousand years and an apprentice to mythical people but is broke and the two teens are apprentices of legendary heroes who lived at least upper middle class lifestyles yet they're broke.
So many kingdoms that would proudly sponsor these celebrities or reward them generously for a simple quest solved in one episode, so many celebrity-obsessed and parasocial people that would do the same for 'nothing' to them, so many things to nitpick there that we can't ignore when all us viewers know how easy it is for any of them, specially Frieren, to solve their money issues.

* There has literally only been one episode. You have no idea how things will play out from the little we have seen. Calm down.
* if you actually watched the episode, you would have seen them explain why they couldn’t take the stones.
* most adventurers struggle to make money. kind of a trope in the genre and isn’t that deep.
at least make the bait interesting. You owe people that much.
Obviously not the most practical for long term travel or defending them but if they *really* wanted the money, they could have found a way.
Hell, if they had brought that first stone with them, the group would be lying dead in the bottom of that cave right now.
especially when they explain the logic in show. you just don’t like it. which is fine. but your dislike of it personally doesn’t make it broadly trash.
