Looking for new animes to watch!

I am not going to list all the animes I have seen, but I love Sword Art Online, Bleach, AOT, MHA, HxH, Solo Leveling, One Punch Man, Classroom of the Elites, Assassination Classrooms, etc.

I don't have a super specific genre it has to be. I just enjoy good animation, plot, and writing. I am currently just past the Impel Down Arc of One Piece, but I would like another anime to watch while I take breaks in One Piece.

Any and all reccomendations are appreciated! Feel free to leave one, or ten. I will check them out. Thank you

Lycoris Recoil. It's a blend of action and slice of life that you might have overlooked.

OSRSnoob142026-01-20 23:28

I will look into that! Just from the trailer, I really like the art style. Thank you for the suggestion.

Gurren Lagann

Welcome to the N.H.K.

Black Lagoon

OSRSnoob142026-01-20 23:27

I appreciate the suggestions! Will definitely look into those, I have seen Code Geass and Gurren Lagann and enjoyed both of those. Have seen a few people talking about Black Lagoon so I will start there.

Enough_Campaign_65612026-01-20 23:41

Black lagoon is really good.

Fullmetal Alchemist 2003

Was a big fan of brotherhood. I have heard some bad things about the other one but haven't watched it just because of that. If I have seen brotherhood, is it worth watching that one still?

Enough_Campaign_65612026-01-20 23:44

Brotherhood is faith full to the manga. The original anime caught up to the manga and they made their own story. Its not bad but its also not really all that great either. If you watched brotherhood you aren't missing out.

Nebresto2026-01-21 00:02

Depends, but by default I would lean on yes. Its more FMA, so its already good. Early half spends more time with certain characters so the emotional scenes have more weight to them.
You've seen Brotherhood already, so there will be a point where you'll notice it diverging. The tone is generally darker than Brotherhood. Maybe you will like it, maybe not, at the very least it will be an interesting comparison.

And despite what the other chap says, you would be missing out. The OPs are *bangers* so its worth a watch for those alone. [Melissa](https://v.animethemes.moe/FullmetalAlchemist-OP1.webm) (OP1) is an all time classic, and the others are just as good if not better

Im gonna suggest 2 -in my opinion-underrated gems that are easily in my top 5 of all time. (720 anime seasons watched according to my tracker)

Durarara!! (Finished)
Golden Kamuy (currently broadcasting the final season)

STRAWLEE2026-01-21 00:09

Orb: On the movements of the Earth. It’s a 25 episode anime that aired last year and is one of the best I’ve ever watched. It’s a dialog heavy show similar to DN but gives Vinland Saga/AoT vibes. 100% would recommend.

MABEXTR2026-01-21 01:26

Try watching frieren its worth it

Uma-apreciator2026-01-21 01:56

Try Uma Musume Pretty Derby and Sword Art Online Gun Gale Alternative

shieldhero22026-01-21 04:15

The Invisible Man and His Soon-to-Be Wife

MrModsMusic2026-01-21 04:39

Kaiju No. 8

Frieren

Cinderella Gray (yes it’s horse girls, but it’s a genuinely well told story with a great protagonist)

Fate/Stay Night (The original is my fav but most people hate it, so if you want you could watch the newer version Unlimited Blade Works)

Demon Slayer

Mashle (it’s funny, and I like Serious Steel 🎶)

Delicous in Dungeon (be prepared for lots of cooking, but it has a very interesting story with some nice twists and turns. Also funny.)

Ghost in the Shell (the og movie. It’s old, and a bit… slow, and… strange. Idk how to describe it, but it’s cool for some reason. Personally it gives me Blade Runner vibes. You should watch it.)

That’s all I got for now.

OSRSnoob142026-01-21 06:23

I enjoyed all of the fate/stay night. Kaiju no 8 is also super good, just waiting for the new season now. Will definitely check out the others though, I thought demon slayer was decent but haven’t finished it. Stopped after the train arc

MrModsMusic2026-01-21 09:21

Nice to know you’ve seen F/SN. Glad you enjoyed.
Ye I can understand why you fell off Demon Slayer tbh. I think everything leading up to the Mugen Train was great, and the movie itself is one of my absolute favorites. I’ve enjoyed the stuff that came after too, but not as much. I think the show really peaked in Mugen Train arc, for me personally.

Donnie-G2026-01-21 06:53

Sounds like you watch rather... typical stuff. Nothing wrong with that, but I'm just gonna suggest Odd Taxi which is probably outside your comfort zone.

I also watched Medalist the other day so I'm gonna suggest that too.

OSRSnoob142026-01-21 16:28

For the most part I am definitely the "typical stuff" enjoyer. There a few less popular ones I enjoy, like all the isakeis of "world's best assassin reborn" or devil part time. Just those random one offs. I will check those out! Thank you for the input

the-eternal-freshie2026-01-21 07:06

Overflow, redo healer, and food wars is a really beginner friendly and family friendly anime to watch😇

OSRSnoob142026-01-21 16:30

Will ask my dad tonight if he wants to start Overflow with me!
