And if you really care about what other people think, just go down a rating or popularity list on a site like [MAL](https://myanimelist.net/)

i would just watch the original ova. the other ones are just seperate series not made by the same people that are also not very great

They totally only ever made 6 episodes. Anything else is a collective fever dream and any season past the first doesn't exist. Which makes perfect sense because the show did everything it needed to in those 6 episodes.
(really though, they made more seasons like 15 years after the original and they're meh at best. The original season is arguably a must see but the rest isn't)

If you're looking for "must watch" anime, then FLCL is probably one that you should check out. It's available on the adult swim site if you log into a cable provider

It is my most rewatched anime, and one of the main reasons for that is that it is relatively short. If you are curious, why not to watch? It's about 2 hours long.

It’s not for everyone. Half the time you don’t know what’s going on, which is actually why I like it. The music is great too!

It's a classic (the original OVA from 2000, not the "sequels", just to make sure)
You'll either find it brilliant (like me) or just strange, but it's worth watching. There's nothing quite like it, the music and visuals are excellent, and it's just 6 episodes long.

Must watch? Nah, but it's short and fun. It's one of those shows where despite seeming to make zero sense you'll pick up on enough theme-wise that you'll feel like you get it.
