r/anime’ s best girl of 2025: The Elimination Day!

Hello everyone, welcome back to another r/anime contest! I have been back from my vacation to Japan and now it’s time for the salt again!

This time we are meeting to hold r/anime ’s best girl of 2025, the final battle of 2025 which would decide who is r/anime ’s favorite girl of 2025!

Just like the 2023 and 2024 cycle, in 2025 we welcome the girls who have got their wildcards from the pick-up round which are held each seasonal throughout the 2025 seasonal cycle into the elimination round. A bit different from previous years (3 girls from each season, 12 wildcards in total), this time we have 14 girls who hold the wildcards as we have ties for the 3rd spot in winter and summer pick-up round so both girls advanced!

Due to there are 46 girls in our enchants now, this time we are holding an elimination stage for the annual best girl with only 32 could get into the elimination stage. Just like previous years, I have marked the season of every girl for your convenience as some of you might would love to have a balance between seasons when deciding your vote, or you can just vote whoever you like. Just follow your heart!

Post of each round will be posted around 8am Eastern Standard Time.

Hell yeah, I'm looking forward to it. I do get more invested in characters than songs, but the number of good OPs *and* EDs this year is so high I'm very excited for the contest. At least until the best OP by far doesn't perform well because it is not from a very popular show.

FWIW, both because of the people interested in the OP/ED contests and because it's very easy to check out new OPs and EDs, there is far less bias in them than in other contests. Unfortunately it still doesn't stop some people from just voting for what they know and are used to.

i assume you're talking about the sequel shows? this year does feel the weakest in some time. 2022 and 2023 really feels like the greatest generation of new anime girls

I’m talking about the lack of *Mono, Food for the Soul, City, Maebashi Witches, Sorairo Utility*, and the better half of the *Food Court* girls to name a few.

Instead we got some harem reps that I couldn’t pick out of lineup. Of course.

The only ones I'm (moderately) salty about are Mizuki (Flower and Asura), Rynz (Silent Witch), Anne (Anne Shirley), Fuji (With You and the Rain) and both Takopi girls.

- It was a 'short'
- The theme made some people not watch it
- They're kids (no 'waifu factor')

The worst thing about this list of contestants is the complete lack of horse girls. Other than that, yeah, a good number of good girls are missing, but the selection we have is still pretty good.

Best girl of a certain year has no nomination phase. I as the host will nominate all Elite eight and wildcard winners of all 4 2025 seasonals and open the elimination.

Niko, Marie, Reze, Ayame, Nico, Yidhra, and Nemu get the votes. The Witch Watch girls are probably safe but I'm worried about Yidhra, who was very fun and really grew on me, especially after reading the manga.

A lot of great girls I'm especially happy to see so many great girls from winter 25 here again. **Natsuko**, **Mariabelle**, **Inori**, **Shisui**, **Alina, Iku** and **Kurumi** is just an all around amazing lineup with most of my faves coming from winter and I hope *all* of them make it in.. Otherwise **Monica**, **Isabelle**, **Yamamoto** (RIP best gremlin Wada), **Yachiyo**, **Satoko**, **Nemu** and **Alicia** are some of the girls from other seasons I wanna see make it in and place high.

For top seeds I expect Reze, Monica, Shisui, Inori, Scarlet to all place high and make top 8 with propably Reze making top seed, although I wouldn't be surprised to see either Monica or Shisui take top seed. Otherwise maybe Yachiyo and Renako also have a shot at top 8, but I'm not that sure on those two. If Medalist had aired its first episode prior to the seeding votes I'd also have given a shot to Inori.

As for seasons that get the most girls in, I would love it to be winter, since all girls are top tier, but I also wouldn't mind Spring, since that season is a close second for me. (I voted for 2 girls from Fall, 3 from Summer and 9 from Spring and 9 girls from Winter in this elimination round). I hope that most girls that don't make it come from Summer and Fall, but I guess that's a bit of wishful thinking considering recency bias. Therefore I thinkk summer will propably get the most girls in.

I'm sure Alicia from Clevatess stands no chance in a popularity contest but she's easily my favorite new female character from last year.

I'm really curious where they take her character in the next season.

I slacked a bit last year and only watched the shows for around half of the 46 contestants, but that doesn't mean I don't have my favorites. Shisui is my top choice, but I'm also going hard for Niko, Miko, Ruri, Inori and Kaoruko.

I was expecting this contest to be dominated by one girl (or maybe two girls), but I'll do my best to not let my fears come true. I'm here to get Monica the win, and if possible Natsuko very far as well. I'm only voting a select few besides those two.

MC: I already voiced my predictions in the previous tournament. I'd rather not say them again as I'd rather be wrong about them instead of making them more likely to come true by reminding people to vote for them.

As for the number of girls each season gets in, without the outliers, I think it will be very even. No season looked like it clearly dominated over another.
