I really love the trope of the cute innocent girl who turns out to have crazy anger issues or a dark side, please if there are any shows with a female lead or main character like this I’d love to watch them! :D

Give the manga a try after you are done with the anime, its actually a very faithful adaption until 2/3rd in at which point it goes original, but its still worth watching IMO.

The manga is actually my all time favourite.

Higurashi. Pretty much everyone on the cast goes murder-crazy at least once.

Start with the 2006 show, not Gou/New/2020/the one on Crunchyroll. That's Season 4 and spoils everything.

He did it to generate word-of-mouth buzz when it revealed that it wasn't a sequel, similar to the recent Final Fantasy "Remake". The problem is that Western websites didn't update their information to reflect this and made the original hard to access through legal means.

And to clarify, do NOT avoid Higurashi Kai (2007). You absolutely SHOULD watch that one.

Yeah, in a recent discussion about anime which "fell off over time/arent as popular anymore" someone mentioned Mirai Nikki, but honestly as long as no better yandere than Yuno comes around (and thats a very, very high bar) Mirai Nikki will always stay relevant.

hot take: all those contradicting traits that are basically excuses to make all characters little girls with an unexpected trait for mere shock effect or even fetish is lame. im done watching recycled archetypes and most of them are either "shy" or obnoxious with minimal depth and a cute/cool designs and the most interesting trait is their favorite food.

i would love a cute girls who's whole personality isn't the cuteness itself only and later reveals her negative, evil traits that aren't just pure evil or demonic/supernatural. i need the motifs, the inner dialogue shown through their behavior. not just a kawaii girls who suddently k1lls you.

michiko e hatchin is a perfect example of what kinda characters im expecting to see. realistic women young and younger. hana still shows "tsundere" behaviour but it is not her whole personality. ya feel me? i need recommendations like that 🙏
