I hope the dungeon drops a gimp suit next.

ObvsThrowaway51202026-01-21 16:52

Aww Stud’s sad his new little friend’s gonna be away for a bit lol. I heard this isn’t BL like that bean counter isekai, but it’s got like a BL vibe. I mean bro was caressing Stud’s cheek. Plus his little bromance with Gil lol.

PeaceAlien2026-01-21 16:57

So funny, for a show without a BL tag, it sure feels super BL

Atharaphelun2026-01-21 23:23

This feels more blatantly BL than that bean counter isekai, and that one already had say gex!

Stud is already being mega-possessive with Lizel, my god.

PeaceAlien2026-01-21 23:45

The one that seems like BL isn't and the one that doesn't seem like BL has gay sex. What a shocker

dododomo2026-01-22 01:08

The author basically said "it's a bromance, but if you want to see it as BL..." . They aren't fooling anyone ahah

cyberscythe2026-01-22 04:08

i feel like it's because the guys do acts of kindness instead of just straight up slobbering on each other

it like two sides of the same BL coin, and if we combined the two series together—

[](#fujostare)

PeaceAlien2026-01-22 04:14

No one should have all that power

Eliv2026-01-21 17:15

Sure feels like BL, all pretty boys no women in sight, headpats and cheek touching

RadiantDawn12026-01-22 02:58

There was actually one woman I thought right? Or am I confusing it for the bean counter one where there's technically a FL and one other woman that's a background character

cyberscythe2026-01-22 03:54

well there are literally women in sight (e.g. at the cafe), but they don't say or do anything other than be background

[](#schemingsaten)

Feisty-Bench-74052026-01-22 10:57

Lol. I just realized I don't think I've seen a single girl so far.
.... In an anime!!?

Vkusno-Nutty2026-01-21 17:57

Main character effortlessly, unintentionally, and inexplicably desired by all of the young men he encounters, that's the hallmark of BL, isn't it? Crazy to think the mangaka thought he could avoid that label.

dododomo2026-01-22 02:20

The author say deep camaraderie with men, when they basically meant "it's a bromance, but if you want to see it as BL..." 😂. Guess the author wanted both BL fans and and non-BL fans' money and attention, but the BL vib-I mean the "deep camaraderie" is evident. So they're not fooling anyone XD

CooroSnowFox2026-01-22 05:27

I mean we had water magician a few seasons ago be down similar lines in places.

StockyScorpion2026-01-22 05:57

Nah, water magician actually gave bro vibes. This one is 1000% gay.

TFBuffalo_OW2026-01-24 02:43

Id definitely say effortlessly, unintentionally... maybe.. hes a flirty man. Inexplicable? No its very explicable

NanDemoKnaives2026-01-21 18:17

Just cute boys doing bromantic things.

dododomo2026-01-22 01:15

Just hot men ~~giving BL vibes~~ enjoying the camaraderie

cyberscythe2026-01-22 04:14

they're just doing it for ~~the mission~~ camaraderie!

testthrowawayzz2026-01-21 18:31

Feels like there are two non BL shows this season that’s trying to out BL the actual BL show lol

harrellj2026-01-21 19:04

Which shows out of curiosity?

testthrowawayzz2026-01-21 19:13

This one and Goumon Baito-kun

Particular_Maize68492026-01-21 18:48

I feel like the bean counter is just yaoi, whereas this fits my historical understanding of BL which is always a will-they/won't-they kind of thing where they never actually confirm being gay but are definitely more touchy-feely than a friendship between two typical straight guys.

dont_trust_the_popo2026-01-21 18:57

If my best friend touches my face im going to be mighty uncomfortable and it might have to end in a tickle fight

Particular_Maize68492026-01-21 19:00

Just be careful the tickle fight doesn't end in full penetration.

dont_trust_the_popo2026-01-21 19:01

If i was gay i would probably joke that internal tickles count and are fair game, But im not so i wont

mekerpan2026-01-21 18:56

Certainly feels like a harem show...

dododomo2026-01-22 03:07

Author said " many male friendships where deep camaraderie is present"

Basically, "it's stronger than bromance, but if you want to see it as BL" 🤣

LazulineDaydream2026-01-21 17:11

I was initially distracted at how they were drinking coffee at [opposite ends of a big table](https://imgur.com/a/XD9iF1D) since it looked a little silly visually, so it really caught me off guard when [he put his hand on Stud's cheek](https://imgur.com/a/UR9nuvR). Like bro, did you climb on the table to do that??

Vkusno-Nutty2026-01-21 17:51

Now you have me imagining Mister Fantastic as a character in a BL 😩

NanDemoKnaives2026-01-21 18:16

I had similar thoughts at Judge's place when Lizel goes to give him head pats, it looked unnatural.

darthvall2026-01-22 07:43

Do we know how old is he already? I kinda forget if they ever talked about it.

Shantotto112026-01-22 01:28

“Angle cheating” at its finest.

darthvall2026-01-22 06:53

Obligatary, how is this not a BL? LMAO.

Then again, I know that in some parts of middle east kissing each other is a custom. I'll just attribute this to the culture in Lizel's OG world where it might be just different than this one.

Good vibes all around though

Magnafeana2026-01-21 17:54

Can’t-Believe-It’s-Not-BL day 💃🏾🏳️‍🌈

OP is vibing even more with me today.

>I would’ve loved to see the Blade earnestly beg.

Cry, or better yet, beg, Umehara. Like that would ***d e s t r o y*** me if Umehara is begging.

But I will die for such a worthy cause.

>No. I want to spend time with you. It has to be now. I’ll be as stubborn as I have to he to make you stay here.

Stud is a bratty bishounen. I love it. Go on, girl, be bratty.

The hand 😩

I know I have shit saved on Pixiv of fanart from this series, gonna have to find it all again.

ED is perfect for a nice drive.

***

**Men** (sighing happily).

Four characters, six different ships in my head.

The fact that *Koro-sensei*, Lelouch, and Studd share a seiyuu makes me giggle.

I’m still sitting mad I couldn’t see the stage plays for this series, but I ***will*** find them!

harrellj2026-01-21 19:11

> Cry, or better yet, beg, Umehara. Like that would d e s t r o y me if Umehara is begging.

Its been way too long since I read the Hana-Kimi manga but you might get something from Nanba-senpai there (I don't anticipate Aquasteed as being a begging-type character).

NanDemoKnaives2026-01-21 18:15

It's a pleasant surprise to see that Stud really likes Lizel, he's hard to read because of how muted his expressions are but it became really obvious with how stubborn he was at the cafe. Lizel probably realized him getting angry and is probably why he wanted to take it outside. Stud's a lot cuter than I thought he'd be.

A dungeon that makes art is an amusing idea, Gil did look really cool in that portrait.

I wonder what kind of characters we'll meet at Marcade since the OP shows so many.

mekerpan2026-01-21 18:58

\>> A dungeon that makes art is an amusing idea, Gil did look really cool in that portrait.

I wonder if there is any way to commission the dungeon to make a particular picture. ;-)

harrellj2026-01-21 19:07

> Lizel probably realized him getting angry and is probably why he wanted to take it outside.

Probably to reduce the amount of damages and/or witnesses.

cyberscythe2026-01-22 04:02

> It's a pleasant surprise to see that Stud really likes Lizel, he's hard to read because of how muted his expressions are but it became really obvious with how stubborn he was at the cafe.

i dunno, for some reason i'm not buying into Stud crushing on Lizel; maybe it's because all the interaction we've seen is business, so it feels like all of their time together has been just doing routine paperwork and so their chemistry hasn't really been on display

[](#sakurathink)

Monk-Ey2026-01-22 08:07

Stud got one (1) headpat and immediately went "I will now die for this ikemen".

CooroSnowFox2026-01-22 05:23

That's a premise for an anime right there like delicious in dungeon...

NoHead17152026-01-22 05:33

\> A dungeon that makes art is an amusing idea

I didn't quite understand where all the paintings were coming from. Are you saying the dungeon itself is an all-seeing photographer-painter that created those paintings? Or maybe there's some dungeon administrator watching the security cameras and painting all the dungeon scenes (and getting cute rock golems to hide them in the treasure chests)

lobsterwine2026-01-22 09:43

What I gathered is that they're dungeon items that you can get from chests, like that bear they got in the previous episode. They're created from the dungeon, but are things that actually happened in the dungeons, which is why they say it's like the dungeon's memories.

NoHead17152026-01-22 10:38

So the dungeon is a living entity that sees a memorable scene, then creates a painting that spawns in the chests?

lobsterwine2026-01-22 13:49

I don't know if it's actually alive and based on the kind of show it is, I'm not sure we're going to get that far into the lore, but otherwise yes.

Shmappii2026-01-21 18:17

I think most anime consumers have enjoyed an all-female SoL where it constantly baits with yuri possibilities, so getting the male version of that is fine by me.

LacieHolly2026-01-23 07:57

You know, that's probably it. Like. Lizel having the prettiest eyelashes as he tucks his hair behind his ear on top of the carriage made me want to scream. Like the author HAS to be aware of what they're doing. So it's likely yaoi bait like so many yuri bait shows before it.

dont_trust_the_popo2026-01-21 18:32

This might be the gayest none gay anime ive ever seen. Interesting to see how it outgays other gay animes in future episodes.

rienholt2026-01-22 02:38

I have had sex with men and this anime is gayer than that.

No_Macaroon_74132026-01-22 05:52

The not-gay scenes are hilarious, giving unsolicited head pats to this 6ft tall grown man. Bro wtf are you doing lmao.

powerhcm82026-01-22 16:47

It's funny how the author says this isn't BL, but this anime feels gayer than the other one with gay sex.

They are gay in different ways, this one seems more idealized/romanticized and this is almost all the plot. Isekai office worker seems more grounded and has other plotlines, in a way I could say it's similar to what is common in a lot of gay relationships, which you have sex first and later you get closer to each other.

lemon9000982026-01-25 17:54

Is the MC even gay? It seems like he is just too nice to outright correct the guys in love with him.

Though he also played into it with Stud, so maybe he isnt being nice.

Randuir2026-01-21 18:35

I'm sorry author, but there really is no straight explanation for any of this :P

cyberscythe2026-01-22 04:03

Lizel *could* be Canadian

[](#rengethink)

darthvall2026-01-22 06:55

He's from other world after all lol

Monk-Ey2026-01-22 08:06

oh my god, Lizel *is* the mythical Canadian ~~girl~~ ~~boy~~ friend

JamesSomdet2026-01-21 18:37

Oh my god, I literally don't care about the blond noble at all . . . I mean, the only one I really have any interest in is that receptionist. Don't know if I should stick around.

AceSoldia2026-01-21 19:16

Are...we SURE this isnt BL? lol

LonelyAstronaut9842026-01-22 04:39

this was me the whole episode

Next_Package_57102026-01-21 19:17

Now i am thinking "nobel" means "gay." So everytime they see him and he says hes not gay...they are like "sure..."

cyberscythe2026-01-22 04:09

is *that* what the nobel prize is about?

raidensnakeezio2026-01-22 07:20

is he a noble or just european?

Shizzi2026-01-22 13:50

Hang on this guy is onto something

FLorianGran2026-01-21 19:38

Boy this was an ugly looking episode

AnythingBacon2026-01-21 20:04

Stud leaving the guild and joining the harem when?

Skoziik2026-01-21 21:05

He's Lizels guild guy, if he leaves someone else might take his spot.

But maybe he will take days off to accompany Lizel occasionally.

AnythingBacon2026-01-21 21:09

He's kinda OP like the other two. I can see him saying fuck it and joining the party. But he's also a background defender. I'm curious where this will go

dododomo2026-01-22 01:04

He's already in the harem despite not even being a member of the party XD

sexhomaru2026-01-21 20:16

this is gayer than some of the actual gay anime i have watched

caresi2026-01-21 20:17

i'm so glad the scene of lizel struggling to climb out of the carriage was kept in, it's so funny. man's got noodle arms.

while i'm a little bit disappointed with the animation and how many off-model shots there are, i'm still really enjoying this anime. i have caught up on the manga translations while waiting for this episode, and now i'm just excited to see everything animated and in color and voiced.

Empoleon3bogdan2026-01-21 21:21

The thing i really like form the fantasy aspect is the dungeon paintings. Like so cool that the literal dungeons takes screenshots.

kalirion2026-01-21 21:29

Damn, I didn't know Stud-kun was down so bad for MC already. So MC's gay harem has 3 members already, possibly 4 but I dunno if the collector viscount guy's fully into him in that way yet.

SpaceMethJunkie2026-01-22 03:08

The viscount is definitely in the harem at this point. The dude touched MC's chest on day 1 and invited him over

JasonFreeYT2026-01-21 21:43

How does this anime manage to feel gayer than the Bean Counter anime LMAO, I'm not complaining though, they're all very cute ueueu

Dur_Gwana2026-01-21 23:19

What's the point of making something so gay yet not gay.

United-Wolverine98292026-01-22 00:14

to make people who are not into gay thing to keep watching , otherwise none gay people will simply skip it if its too abvious

dododomo2026-01-22 01:04

They can keep both fans of BL (and themes and gay relationships too. Since the BL vibes are too evident imo) and anime fans who may skip an anime if the gay part is too obvious (meant as kissing, sex, etc) and no one would complain

Dur_Gwana2026-01-22 02:48

they may not kiss nor pound each other but it doesn't mean it's not gay lol

It's like saying harem anime are not harem until they have sex/kiss. And most 'dumb' harem anime are like that - never consumed. Everyone knows what they are

and everyone knows this is gay. I can't imagine someone not seeing it

darthvall2026-01-22 06:59

Reddit is not the best indicator, but still, this anime managed to have a healthy upvote and comment ratio. Meanwhile the openly BL anime got downvoted to hell this week, even if the episode itself is decent (no overly raunchy stuff like last week).

I think that still shows how different it is to be openly BL and not.

IceSmiley2026-01-22 00:42

Not much went on this episode but I was very curious if Lisel was gay judging from being constantly hit on by men. Judge nervously asking him to accompany him to Marcade seemed more an excuse to go away with Lisel than really needing him specifically for protection, especially since he and Blade don't get along well. He didn't even know Lisel used a gun! In other episodes, I thought Judge was nervous around him because he thought he was a noble but that doesn't seem to be the whole story.

I'm guessing most people in the guild know Stud is gay, like those 2 other men were pretending not to stare when he asked Lisel out. I didn't even think he particularly liked Lisel at all before this episode but he was so determined to keep their date going, he faced down 3 tough guys alone! Also, Judge said Stud is kind of mean to him sometimes but I'd guess when he was being rude when they were in the carriage, Stud was jealous Lisel was going away with him and kind of resented him; I'd also guess Stud and Judge know each other are gay.

I'm still also not sure if Blade is gay. He and Lisel almost do seem a couple to an outside viewer BUT he didn't seem all that upset with Stud flirting with Lisel right in front of him. Also Judge was subtly asking why Blade wasn't with Lisel at the shop and I think he more poking around to find out how involved they are with each other if at all.

CloverClubx2026-01-22 00:49

Brother, the author may have said this is not gay but there is NO FUCKIN WAY it isn't, this is gayer than actual BL comics

SpaceMethJunkie2026-01-22 03:10

Wait there's humanoids in this anime? Pretty sure I just saw a guy with dog ears. I wonder if we'll be getting a furry in the harem as well. My bet is on the dude with the muzzle in the op

SpaceMethJunkie2026-01-22 03:13

I think that date went well, lol.

tricksareforcats2026-01-22 03:54

Loving how casual these moments are, they just come across as normal. Whay a nice vacation.

Striking_Chard24202026-01-22 04:07

Nahh the author definitely wanted this to be BL but probably couldn't tag it as such for whatever reason. There was nothing "friendly" about the DATE that just happened.

CooroSnowFox2026-01-22 05:33

There is a thing I wonder if some stories dont do certain stories because either its above their experience but also does tie into the thing of not wanting to write into a corner something the fans/readers will maybe carry better... or not to ruin the experience by being definite over how a story can go... like with ships or if they kiss for example...

cyberscythe2026-01-22 04:13

i think Judge is my favorite so far; there's something about a buff chonker scaredy cat with a bushy pony tail that works for me

[](#justright)

NoHead17152026-01-22 06:22

Judge definitely wants a picture of Lizel's gun. Nothing more Bro-Love coded than that. Lizel must've been a harem owner in his previous world - he knows exactly how to bring bros into his fold.

Shizzi2026-01-22 13:46

Usually people are like author you have never had a interaction with a girl before but with this one it feels like they have never seen a friendship between guys before like really author you call this not BL?

froggyc192026-01-22 18:38

I love the idea of the dungeon fangirling over certain adventurers and making art of them to put in chests.

ReivenVI2026-01-23 01:14

bro just keeps rizzing everyone left and right

xNesku2026-01-23 02:08

How is this not BL? The first 2 episodes, okay sure. But this episode? Nah author-san can't fool me 🤣

chinnychinchinchin12026-01-23 20:48

What a missed am opportunity to not see Gil help Lizel down from the roof. Tsk tsk

mywif4aiur2026-01-24 17:59

Were the three dudes after Lizel gay too or were they actual thugs?
