Any suggestions for where to start?

I’ve currently only watched a couple of Studio Ghibli films which I really enjoyed, so I was wondering if there are any (preferably short) series with similar vibes. I’ve seen Mononoke, Nausica, Fireflies and Heron so far, and I like the whimsical sort of fantasy vibe.

I really don’t want to watch anything weirdly sexual though, because I feel like some anime fans seem a bit desensitised to how strange some of the stuff they watch is, and swear it’s normal but then I look it up and it’s just perverted.

I'm not a fan of all the fanservice to anime, but admittedly I'm so used to it now I just tune it out.

From what I can recall, these shows/films feature little-to-none of that kind of content:

Steins;Gate - One of the greatest pieces of media ever produced through anime.

Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms - A phenomenal fantasy film

Chihayafuru - Show following a female MC and the Japanese game Karuta. Phenomenal series, shame we still haven't got any news about S4

From the New World - Phenomenal series that kept me entertained throughout, and leaves you with one of the more memorable endings I've come across.

Lycoris Recoil - John Wick, but they're highschool girls and it actually has substance

Working!/Wagnaria! - Light-hearted comedy series centred around a restaurant

I Want to Eat your Pancreas - Solid but devastating film.

Makoto Shinkai films (Your Name, Suzume, Weathering with You, etc)

Ghibli films
