DESPERATELY NEED HELP FINDING ANIME NAME

Hey guys, I remember borrowing a DVD from a library at least 15 years ago for an anime. It’s been too long so can’t remember the details but the female lead was apparently a princess or a deity/angel somewhere but later arrives on Earth with no memories and no/weakened powers which is where she meets MC. I remember there being some sort of gate that was really important to the story and second male who knew the female lead before she lost her memories. There was also a second female that apparently also knew about the female lead. I’ve been thinking and trying to find this anime for months now with absolutely no luck, please help.

What level of violence are we looking at here? Because it kind of sounds like Elfen Lied but idk if a library would have DVD copies of that given the gore and nudity

Can’t remember much in terms of how violent but definitely not Elfen Lied hahaha.

Ah dang, I'm sorry. You might can try r/tipofmytongue, they helped me find an anime last month. Did it have a particularly catchy or memorable theme song?

Thanks everyone for your help, someone from another subreddit found it, it’s the Ah My Goddess movie if anyone’s wondering.
