So I already watched Clannad, Your lie in April and violet ever garden. (both series and movies) I cried to all of them lol. So I want more anime that might make me cry lol

Wonder egg priority, and if your cool keeping up with currently airing Shiboyugi: playing death games to put food on the table.
iOttoman2026-01-22 00:18
Made in abyss made me cry a lot to be honest.
iPlaySona2026-01-22 00:33
Plastic Memories, Angel Beats, To your Eternity, Elfen Lied
If you want something with more action: Cyberpunk Edgerunners,
86 (has mechs but i wouldnt consider it a mech anime)
Takopies Original Sin (This starts with content warnings)
Movies: Your Name, I want to eat your pancreas, A Silent Voice, Grave of the Fireflies
MrDerpHerpson2026-01-22 01:27
I second Takopi if you want something that will really fuck you up
LusshLolli2026-01-22 01:48
i agree on Takopi, also u can add Another and Flowers of Evil, made in abyss as well

I just finished Your Lie in April myself and I don't think anything has made me bawl like I did for that show. If you wanna cry because something is emotional but not necessarily sad/depressing, I would suggest Fruits Basket, Re: Zero, and 86.
emxjoxx2026-01-22 01:04
Where were you able to find Clannad?
MrDerpHerpson2026-01-22 01:26
its on HiDive
gonestry2026-01-22 02:55
I watched it on billibili
Early_Reply2026-01-22 01:11
In this Corner of the World. Slice of life during WWII. so endearing and so tragic. The movie is great.
Nana for a nice slow burn but for more mature audiences imo (don't watch it with kids around)
Acrobatic-North-60472026-01-22 01:26
grave of fireflies
KeepCalm_BingeAnime2026-01-22 01:59
I second most, if not all, of the other suggestions so far.
One that really got to me more recently was Maquia: when the promised flower blooms. Kind of a slow burner but still emotional throughout the movie and things pick up near the end. I was a mess when the credits started rolling...
Other mentions:
- Ride your wave.
- March comes in like a Lion.
- Devilman Crybaby. Kinda messed me up ngl.
- When Marnie was there - and other Ghibili films.
- Look Back.
- The garden of words.
- Ferein.
- Akame ga Kill.

I Want to Eat Your Pancreas - along the same vein as Your Lie In April. Movie so its an easy watch.

Orange will make you cry. Especially if you've ever had depression.
hikkimouto2026-01-22 03:10
if you watched Clannad you should see 'Air'
Brilliant-Bench-49122026-01-22 03:14
It takes some time to get there, but there’s this Gundam called Iron Blooded Orphans that made cry more than Your Lie in April. Both were very good though.
HumbleEmu71512026-01-22 03:18
Cyberpunk or angel beats. Angel beats had me in depression for couple of weeks
ZsaZsa-Starling2026-01-22 03:30
I didn't see it recommended yet so Ano Hana. It has the feels.

Dororo and Kotaro Lives Alone

5 centimeters per second. Not quite the bawl-out-your-eyes kind of sad but leaves a hole in your chest that lasts for like a week.
unpeturbedcorvid2026-01-22 05:29
Anohana. Wolf Children.

Prism rondo (I really recommend it! It came out last week, all 20 eps)
My roommate is a cat (it’s really funny comedy, but one episode was sad and I cried)
Ao haru ride
Taishou otome (sweet romance with some emotional moments)
Fruits basket has its moments too
Fumetsu no anata (1st ep is big cry and many sad moments later in 1st season, 2&3 seasons aren’t that sad for me)
Journal with witch - only 3 eps now and I haven’t cried yet, but it has potential to be very emotional lol
