Any good world exploring anime?
I am kind of new to anime, I have watched a couple: HxH, Fma, JJK, One punch man and a couple more.
I want a good world building and exploring anime (something like Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter), where there is a lot of lore behind worlds and characters.
Any recommendations?

Would be kind of cool to see that though…
Made in Abyss
Mushoku Teinsei
Ascendance of a Bookworm
These 3 have some of the best world building
Log Horizon has a bunch of discover-and-explain-world vibes.
Apothecary Diaries has a well made world since its kinda based on a specific historical setting.
My Hero Academia does a good job building its world given the context of the story.
Mashle is good not for the world building but if you want a Harry Potter comedy.
One Piece
Most locations have their own lore and the world feels pretty large. There are a couple that are kinda similar (Alabasta and Dressrosa, for example), but most are pretty unique both in visual design and lore.
For shows with (much) faster pacing though:
- Frieren
- Samurai Champloo (locations themselves aren't super in depth but it's a great adventure)
- Dungeon Meshi
- Made in Abyss (**NOT** for beginners as a significant portion is quite disgusting, intense, and weird, but the story is interesting and the very premise of the show is to explore a magical pit/vertical cave).
It's a bit childish and simple, but there are so many stuff going in with so many locations and characters compared to how long it is.
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime
Humanity Has Declined
12 Kingdoms
Moribito
Samurai Champloo
Katanagatari
Kino's Journey
Ie Naki Ko
Digimon Adventure
Vision of Escaflowne
Galaxy Express 999
