Issues with Crunchyroll's "new episode"

Has anyone else noticed that Crunchyroll's "new episode" section seems to not be including all the new episodes this season?

I noticed it today with Oshi no ko, but I noticed something similar with both 'tis time for torture, princess and a couple of others. By mid season it's less of an issue, but at the start of a new season, it's sort of a nice feature to remember what's coming out when.

It usually means that a new episode is out but may not be subbed/dubbed yet or may be available in Japan but not in America yet so will say there's a new episode but you may not be able to view it immediately

I just check animeschedule.net to see if something is scheduled. It is honestly ridiculous how they have allowed this type of thing to get so bad.

I'm not sure what section you're talking about. I just look at Continue Watching

I keep getting told there are “new episodes” of shows that literally came out in the last couple days. I only watch subs, so if I’m getting notifications for dubs too it’s super annoying, but I don’t think that’s the case

The whole set up is terrible

Yeah, the New Episodes section randomly doesn't have things that launched, which I find to be very odd.

I usually just do the following:

1. Use anilist and an anilist application like Aluminum to remind me with a notification, but then I check an hour or two afterward.
2. As a backup, I make my watchlist only what I am currently watching, not what I want to watch but am not watching (e.g. something in the catalog that is a backlog item for me), as sometimes the series do not go all the way to the top as they used to. I have to look for it, and I find it all the way in the bottom.

I would recommend reaching out to Crunchyroll support, [https://help.crunchyroll.com/hc/en-us/requests/new](https://help.crunchyroll.com/hc/en-us/requests/new) about this issue, as the more people report this, the more it may get noticed.

>randomly doesn't have things that launched

Thank you. This is what I'm noticing, and was wondering if I was going crazy. Oshi No Ko was especially noticable, since they were pushing it on the top banner.

Yeah, I even had issues trying to watch it on the dot at 7:00 AM PT, I had to continually refresh the Oshi No Ko dedicated page til 7:05 AM PT to find episode 2.

In the past, I could just go to new episodes on launch time and instantly watch it. I think something broke last Fall 2025.

Although, someone else did told me that on the website that if I expand the new episodes section a couple of times, then I click on the release calendar, [https://www.crunchyroll.com/simulcastcalendar](https://www.crunchyroll.com/simulcastcalendar), that seems to have everything. That list has Oshi No Ko.

Are you using the app on a device? The next up and new have been broken on the TV and console app version since last summer. They don’t care.
The website interface usually works and IOS phone app works as well.

I use livechart.me It’s free, great interface, you can customize the schedule AND you can export to MAL or other sites. Works great to keep track of seasonal shows and upcoming/announced ovas and movies

I sometimes also use the TV, Browse > Newest always constantly seems to be not in the order that I am expecting. I would have expected Oshi No Ko near the top, but I find other anime around there also near the top, which is kinda confusing me.

For example, in [https://www.crunchyroll.com/videos/new](https://www.crunchyroll.com/videos/new), it says Hana-Kimi updated 5 hours ago. But that isn't mentioned anywhere in New Episodes, nor in [https://www.crunchyroll.com/simulcastcalendar](https://www.crunchyroll.com/simulcastcalendar), so what got updated?

runevault2026-01-22 04:01

New seems to be super weird because any update puts it into today, like any episode getting a dub added (don't think language even matters so if a language that isn't set as your interest got updated it still shows up). Seems like an incredibly weird setup, I find myself relying more on the main tab and stuff like watch later/crunchylists.
