looking for depressing anime recs plz
looking for animes with themes of depression, self harm, suicide, and the like. if possible i'd like something with a similar vibe to the manhwa suicide boy. i'd also prefer something on the shorter side but i get that this may be a bit of a niche request and if that's not possible that's ok. thx

i'm still kind of a newgen when it comes to anime so theres a lot i haven't seen or heard of yet
it was pretty cool but it was a bit happier toned than i expected. it made me feel similar to how i feel when i read suicide boy though, in the way that i'm jealous that the suicidal character has friends who support him and want him to get better and i don't have that even though im in a similar state of mind and that said suicidal character actually doesn't want to die and actually wants to live and is excited for the future which i only wish i could relate to, which is pretty along the lines of what i was looking for
anyway umm i give it a 4/5 stars. docks a point for naho pissing me the fuck off one too many times

Clannad - specifically the After Story (S2). The first season starts pretty lite hearted but ends in a heavy note. In also recommend playing the VN if you have time.
