Anime advise for movie hater?
Hey everyone!
A bit of a strange request :D
I HATE WATCHING MOVIES. Most of the time, I genuinely do. The reason being if I watch a movie, I really feel it, like I am there. With this, if something is cringe or corny, I literally feel it so bad down deep in my soul, it ruins my whole day. No idea why lol.
I really love reading, though, and for some reason, I do not get the same feeling from it. Only good stuff.
*HOWEVER*
I decided to give a chance to some anime movies, and oh boy, I truly struck gold when I discovered Studio Ghibli.
So here is my request: be merciful and grant it to me. I will list some of the anime I have watched and truly enjoy, and some of the anime that have ruined my day, and if you have any suggestions on something similar, PLEASE SEND IT TO ME. I crave good content, but playing the russian roulette of "Is this movie going to make me cry or will I end up with a ruined day" is a bit exhausting at this point lol.
So, behold, *The List In Chronological Order:*
**1. The Wind Rises 8/10.**
Seen a part of it on TikTok and fell in love with the art style and vibes. Watched it. Broke my heart. My soul wants to fly... and I am scared of heights. Found out that there is maybe good anime.
**2. Laputa - Castle In The Sky 9.5/10**
Second ever watched anime movie. Oh. My. Man. It's a work of art. I was so invested in the plot that I had to stop every 10 min just to give myself a break, and just dissolve in the bathtub of feelings. I could literally just look at the art itself again and again. Also, the robots are scary in their peaceful danger.
**3. Howl's Moving Castle 8/10.**
Again, enjoyed the art aspect so much. The story felt a bit strange and rushed, but after reflecting on it, I have found peace with it. Truly, we are all under a curse to be ourselves.
**4. Princess Mononoke 1000000/10.**
I died 3 times watching this. I might have fallen in love. This whole movie felt like I was running the whole time watching it. No comments, I pray for dementia so I can watch this movie again and again.
**5. Porco Rosso 7/10.**
Solid movie. Didn't understand it. But for some strange reason, I did *vibe* with it. And of course, "I'd rather be a pig than a fascist." Go on, pig boy, I love you.
Now, it was 5 days straight of mining gold. And then, I have had the worst week of my life. AND I DON'T CARE THAT EVERYONE LIKES IT, I JUST DIDN'T *VIBE*. sorry.
Out of respect for the Studio, I will not give a rank to these stories, but sadly, they haven't found a place in my heart:
**6. Spirited Away.**
Save your rotten tomatoes for someone else, I already feel beaten up.
**7. Totoro.**
Just felt uncomfortable watching it. To be fair, I *do* want to hug the big dude. Totoro specifically, of course.
**8. Whispers of the heart.**
Stopped watching 4 times. But I thought I grew out of my second hand embarssment knockouts, so after 5 min pause resumed. 4 KOs in a row. I get it, though. It's a good movie with a good story. Just not for me.
With this, I humbly ask those who could advise me on something similar, please speak up :D
Sorry for a somewhat lengthy post; I tried to be as specific as possible. I would appreciate any suggestions :)
Anime films or series are both welcome.

If you have watched the anime no game no life, no game no life zero is also worth a shot
If you don't like it, then don't watch it. Why bother trying to convince yourself?
even if you don't enjoy the story, the visuals are STUNNING.
You should watch Miyazaki's earlier work "Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind" then!
