Need help with a short comparative presentation?
Hello!
This is my first time using Reddit and I'm not really sure how to express myself haha, but I could use some advice, shall we say?
Actually, I have an English assignment that involves comparing two pages from different manga/novels/webtoons, etc., analyzing their psychological aspects.
Exact instructions:
Look for an extract of comics/anime/manga, etc., and write your own comparison of these comic strips.
See page 1 of the booklet: compare the comic pages; their style, their layout, and give your opinion about how emotions, mental health, or other aspects of psychology are being presented.
> 400 words including introduction, body, and conclusion. Include passives, nouns as adjectives, and new vocabulary.
Your written work is not a summary of the comics but your own analysis of the comic pages in terms of psychology, comic illustrations, or personal reflections about the different speech bubbles and pages.
One page can be in French and the other in English, or both in English (preferred). (4 to 6 images of pages)
And even though I've looked at several, I don't really see the psychological aspects I could find in them...
But if there are any, I'd appreciate some short recommendations that I'm familiar with (list to follow) or that aren't too long! (or viewing to be found on the page)
List of what I've seen or read:
- My Hero Academia (watched in its entirety, including the movies, and read - I'd love to include it in my assignment) {also on the list suggested by the teacher}
- Violet Evergarden (watched)
- One Piece (watched) {on the suggested list}
- Anohana (watched)
- A Silent Voice (watched)
- Erased (watched)
- Wind Breaker (watched)
- Perfect World (watched and read)
- Blue Lock (watched and partially read)
- Haikyuu!! (watched)
- Spy x Family (watched and read)
- Demon Slayer (watched)
- Bungo Stray Dogs (watched)
- The Case Study of Vanitas (watched)
- Solo Leveling (watched)
- The Apothecary's Notebooks (watched)
- Jujutsu Kaisen (watched)
- Buddy Daddies (watched)
- Secret Garden (Read)
- A Condition Called Love (read the first 3 volumes)
- Your Name (watched)
- Suzume (watched)
- Lycoris Recoil (watched)
- Oshi no Ko (watched)
That's it, in terms of anime/manga, everything I remember!
In terms of webtoons (read exclusively on the app):
- Lore Olympus (completed)
- Marionnetta (ongoing)
- High Society (up to date)
- Just Friends (up to date)
- Ex-Love Review (up to date)
- Acception (completed)
- Everything Is Fine (up to date)
(Some others were read a long time ago, so I'm not adding them)
There you go, I hope you can help me find something to analyze a bit, and I wish you a pleasant day! 🫶🏽

Gengoroh Tagame's all ages manga, such as My Brother's Husband, explores themes like the effect of homophobia on people.
Seisou no Shinrishi
The story involves a man who was sliding through life through high school and college. He'd finally landed a job after graduation, but quit because of his senpai being bullied by co-workers. He quit after she committed suicide. Unfortunately, he can't get another job because he quit his first job within the first year.
Another one that deals with a person's psychological breakdown is **Mushoku Tensei**. I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for in the first 3 episodes of the anime or the first 3 chapters of the manga. The MC is written as a real POS, but how he got that way will fulfill your assignment requirements. I recommend the manga because it illustrates the trauma he underwent, including his inner monologues, before he dies and is reincarnated into a fantasy world.
