## [Here is a screenshot of the full seeding results](https://imgur.com/a/swkE1y0)
Well let’s take a moment to send condolence to the poor 14 girls who couldn’t make it into the bracket stage, still I believe they have proved themselves to be one of the girls that impressed us in year 2025!
[Don’t be sad!]( #yuitears " Don’t be sad!")
And now it's time to start our annual best girl bracket!

Also, we were denied it in Fall Seasonal Salt so I find it pretty cool that we get the Miko vs Shiori matchup here.
Maomao is great, but I found Shisui an even more compelling character
[](#smugtouru)
For better or worse, it's always part of it. Her participation in the seasonal contest was before the cour she could shine in, and she performed scarily well, got seed #3 even. Partly of course because of source material readers, and partly of course because a few people did really like her, but also partly of course because people just liked the show and clicked on Apothecary Diaries.
It's always part of it, but sometimes it's "part of it" and sometimes it's "only it"!
Let's hope it's not the latter for this one.
Was not expecting Shisui to get the 1 seed. Reze is the 2 seed… again. Scarlet falling to 5th makes me think this bracket has a bit of a different voting demographic than the seasonal ones, so this should be interesting.

(˃ ᗜ ˂) I didn't know about this one
Usually I don't have to mentally internally debate and go back and forth as much over the decision in these early rounds.
* Best (girl) friend Lana Colette vs best girl Ruri Tanigawa. Sorry Lana, but I like Ruri's growth and her interest in science more.
* Scarlet vs Hikaru. Obviously I'm voting for Hikaru, and [you should too](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ym7lsDjAa44&pp=ygUYbWVkYWxpc3Qga2FtaXNha2kgaGlrYXJ1)!
* In the battle of the yokai that we were denied last time, Miko vs Shiori, I'm voting with Shiori. I'm going with Shiori since she's the true best ~~mermaid~~ girl.
* Inori vs Hinako. Two depressed girls, but only one, Inori, managed to turn it around, so I'm voting for her! ***Vote Inori Yuitsuka, the next Olympic Gold medalist!***
* Renako vs Alina isn't fair, not fair at all! But I'm going to go with the „life is long, weird things happen” yuri harem queen, so congrats Renako!
And talking about Monica, our summer champion and runner-up also make a strong opening as the occupy the 3rd and 4th seed. In fact, summer is the biggest winner of the elimination round with no girls drop out. I would say summer in a whole has proved its depth in the elimination! As the main representatives of new-coming series in 2025 in the annual. I’m looking forward to seeing whether they could add another medal for summer.
Spring champion Nico Wakatsuki and Winter champion Natsuko Hirose struggles a bit in the elimination round, Natsuko even falls behind two semi-finalists in her seasonal – there are seasonal champions who ranked lower in the annual but it’s rare to see a champion rank far lower than semi-finalists coming from the same season. Let’s see if they can get back their momentum in later rounds!
Overall, I would still label this annual as wide-open as we have a low participation in the elimination round possibly due to the traffic yesterday. So, if you like the annual salt remember to upvote the post to help us gain more traffic and more voters. The battle for the annual champion just starts and huge upsets could be made!
There's a simple solution for this, we crown the \[Chainsaw Man Reze movie\] >!living!< as the winner, so Monica wins of course!
Technically all the 1st seeds in the yearly contest were semi-finalists in their season.

I was expecting Reze to get the top seed, but I guess I was wrong. I'm also surprised by how high Kaoruko is, considering that this sub never really warmed up to her show.
RIP Yidhra, Marie, and Ayame.
MC: Reze is one spot higher than I predicted. What makes the difference in the tiebreaker? Contest performance?
I don't know honestly! We need a person who knows the code to look into it. What I know is I refresh the page several times but Reze always is the 2nd seed so I guess there must be a mechanism.
>MC: Comment on the seeding!
Shisui at 1 is great to see, she was a great character in season 2 and we already saw at BG that she had a high potential with her high seeding even though she did get upset by Violet in the end. \[Apothecary Diaries S2\]>!She was listed as Loulan in BG12 and as Shisui now, don't think that changes much tho!<
Monica and Reze both with the same amount of votes and are the two girls I expect to compete with Shisui for the crown both having won their seasonal contest and both being great girls from well liked shows. Also interesting toi see both Shisui and Inori above Winter winner Natsuko. Natsuko does however have the disadvantage of being from a single cour show, that's aired a while ago while both medalist and apothecary diaries remained relevant in the discourse because of their continuations. I like all 3 of 'em very much so I'll take it. Isabelle being seeded this high with this little screentime shows how much of an impact she had with the little time she had. She was just a blast to watch. Alicia and Yachiyo barely not making top 8, but I can see both of them potentially getting in an upset over Nico and Scarlet.
As for some lower seeds: Alina has the same problem as Natsuko. And she has it even harder being from a worse show she had to carry all by herself. Also glad to see Yamamoto placed relatively high (Wada should be here as well tho!).
* ~~Ruriko~~ \- **Shisui**: Ruriko was fun, but I think Shisui still easily wins here
* **Satoko** \- ~~Ajisai~~: One is a lesbian in a toxic relationship, the other is a lesbian in a toxic relationship, who is also a Ninja, a cute dork and very fun to watch. I see only one possible vote here!
* **Yamamoto** \- ~~Nico~~: Nico was fun to watch but I take Yamamoto here
* **Nemu** \- **~~Alicia~~**: I really like both, but I think I like Nemu slightly more. Will be voting for Alicia if she faces Nico next round though.
* ~~Kaoruko~~ \- Hahari
* ~~Lana~~ \- Ruri
* ~~Scarlet~~ \- **Hikaru**: This might just be slightly influenced by the manga...
* **Yachiyo** \- **~~Lilisa~~**: Both great girls but I gotta give it to Yachiyo who is just a more complete character overall
* **Reze** \- ~~Niko~~
* Shiori - Miko: I didn't finish this show and while I liked Mikko more from what I've seen, I'm gonna leave this one to those who did watched the show more
* ~~Hinako~~ \- **Inori**: And even though I didn't finish Watatabe, I know Inori easily takes this one
* **Isabelle** \- ~~Reiko~~
* ~~Konoha~~ \- **Monica**: Monica is my #2 of the year, so even tho I like Konoha it's an ez vote
* ~~Renako~~ \- **Alina**: Alina and her fun personality singlehandedly carried a otherwise pretty mediocre show. Rie Takahashi really brought ths fun character to life. Easy vote!
* ~~Subaru~~ \- Nagi
I will root for Miko and Inori til the bitter end.
it never even began.
Only Hahari made the bracket? No Iku or Kurumi? Y'all suck for that.
And Futami, Yihdra, and Meg missing the bracket too also disappoints me.
Comparing this to my [seeding predictions](https://old.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/1qiwnca/ranime_s_best_girl_of_2025_the_elimination_day/o0wv9s1/), I got the Top 2 entirely correct of Shisui and Reze. I have Kaoruko at Seed 3 and Monica at Seed 4 when it's switched in the actual bracket. I had Scarlet at Seed 8 and Nico at Seed 5 when that's also switched in the actual bracket. Had Renako as Seed 7 when she's Seed 6. My major whiff is thinking Inori would not be a Top 8 Seed and putting Yachiyo there.
Oh and Summer does have the most girls in and Winter the least. But I thought it would be Spring > Fall and not Fall > Spring.
Wish Lilisa and Otoha were higher seeds in this bracket, but they are almost together at least. Seed 19 for Otoha and Seed 21 for Lilisa.
#**Today's Voting**
I knew girls I like being against each other in Round 1 was a high possibility, but Ajisai vs. Satoko hurts. Ajisai.
I'd love to see a Yamamoto upset, but that's Nico she's up against.
Repeat what I just said in the Hahari vs. Kaoruko matchup.
Pulling for Lana and Hikaru in their matchups.
Oh fuck. This hurts the most in Round 1. Yachiyo vs. Lilisa? My loyalty is to *Rock Lady*.
This is funny. The beef gets to be settled in Round 1 of Best Girl of 2025. Shiori vs. Miko? I'm voting...Shiori. As funny as this is, I would have voted for Miko against at least 20 other girls in this contest.
Hinako until the end, but Inori is taking that win.
Glad Konoha made the bracket, but she gets the honor of losing to Monica in Round 1.
I'd love a vote for Otoha and [her 3 million yen outfit](https://imgur.com/ItLv1w5) to make Round 2.
And Renako and Nagi got their Round 1 matchups covered. Unfortunate for Alina though.
Fish are friends, not ~~food~~ fucktoys!

Maybe if an extra season airs during the tournament it might help some candidates, cause i feel like several will struggle to classify through.
In the preliminary ranking, the first girl I rooted for was #11, but now I got one at #9!
[](#awe)
(I guess I'm just moving closer to quarterfinal elimination salt, but whatever, I'll take it!)
Yamamoto's in, and Wada's out?
I mean personally I agree (that Yamamoto is better) but literally 95% of the fans liked Wada more...
Or was it an extremely vocal minority?
[](#flustered)
Fuyumura isn't even in the top 32 best girls of the year? Give back your anime cards, r/anime. You're not worthy.
How in the WORLD does Iku seed below Kurumi?
Behind Hahari sure, she's one of the OGs, but this?
This is heresy.
**I SHOULDN'T BE THIS SALTY BEFORE WE EVEN GET ROUND 1'S RESULTS**
[](#seasonalpout)
Anyway, let's get to vot-
Ruriko facing the #1 seed in the first round?
Just screw this all.
[](#fuckyou)
Wada got seeded a lot lower in summer than Yamamoto. I personally think it's since Yamada (who looks nearly the same as Wada) was also in the contest and therefore Wada's votes got split, since many people who thought they'd voted for Wada accidentally voted for Yamada without knowing. But that's just my headcannon cause she got more support in the comments if I remember correctly.
