Recs for romance anime as a kdrama fan?
I love romance and rom-com korean dramas, esp the ones with cliche tropes (ik thats bad lol).
Does anyone have any recommendations? I'm open to anything but I love the art styles of the shows in the late 2010s-2020s :) I am also open to anything with slow burn or just subplot romance!!

* **Fruits Basket** (drama, romance, slice of life, supernatural, slow burn) - I've heard many people say it reminds them a lot of kdramas
* **The Apothecary Diaries** (historical, mystery, subplot romance) - this one also appeals a lot to cdrama tropes
* **Hana-Kimi** (romcom, crossdressing, currently airing) - the original manga had been adapted to a kdrama before
* **Tamon's B-Side** (romcom, pop idols, currently airing) - I've heard some say that the artstyle, vibe, and character dynamics reminds them of various korean media
* **Love Through a Prism** (historical, romance, slice of life) - I haven't watched this one yet, but people have said good things about it
- Fruits Basket
- Chihayafuru
- Kimi ni Todoke
- Akatsuki no Yona
- Apothecary Diaries
Also
- Love Through A Prism: This one is very new but it’s nice. The one who wrote the original Boys Over Flowers had a hand in it (but it has less controversial a premise obviously 😅 )
One day, Crown Prince Sieg hears the Voices of the Gods out of the blue. Apparently, his fiancée Lieselotte is a “tsun de rais” villainess destined to meet her demise...and her sharp tongue is just a way of covering up her embarrassment. The prince can hardly contain himself after discovering Lieselotte's adorable hidden side. Little does he know, the heavenly beings that bestowed this knowledge unto him are actually high schoolers! Can he use their divine prophecy (let’s play commentary) to save his betrothed and avoid a Bad End?! Its a flipped on its head tsudere romcom, but as if the writers where like what if you could tell the main characters what shes really feeling.
My Love Story!!
romantic comedy manga and anime series about the love story between the kind-hearted giant Takeo Gōda and the shy Rinko Yamato. Probably has the most romance cheese out there.
Rokudou no Onna-tachi
a bullied high school boy, Rokudo, who gains a supernatural ability to make "bad girls" fall in love with him, leading to a mix of romantic comedy, slice-of-life, and action as he tries to achieve a peaceful life while dealing with delinquent girls. Has the weak guy in a relationship with strongest delinquent in the school dynamic.
Fushigi Yuugi
It tells the story of two teenaged girls, Miaka and Yui, who are pulled into The Universe of the Four Gods, a mysterious book at the National Diet Library. It is based on the four mythological creatures of China. Probably has the slowest burn romance but my favorite from the list but the music and scenes are just amazing. The romance also goes the furthest in this one where we go into family life ect. This one has the most action based adventure romance. Kinda like sailormoon in a way.
Doctor Elise: The Royal Lady With the Lamp
Elise was an unpopular, spoiled, and hot-headed empress. After the people rebelled and she was executed, she reincarnated in the modern world with her memories intact. She studies and becomes an expert doctor to atone for her previous life. When she dies in a plane crash, she wakes up as Elise again, as a teenager. To avoid repeating her mistakes, she gained popularity by setting up medical reforms and other improvements and aimed to improve her relationship with her peers and the people. Episoide 1 was kinda a slog as it was building up for the rest of the series but its pretty good afterword. It has the im hated by my fiance but her new twist in life slowly makes him fall for her.

Check out whichever looks cool to you.
Not really kdrama related but I do love Fruits Basket (2019) and My Love Story with Yamada-kun at Lv999 is also really cute!
Pseudo Harem is actually a pretty wholesome and cute rom-com despite the name but plays more on romance anime tropes rather than K-drama ones.
Tomo-chan Is a Girl is a slow burn rom-com about childhood friends who have already fallen in love with each other.
How much fan service are you okay with because some of the ones that really play up the tropes for comedic purposes just love throwing in scenes of accidentally walking in on each other changing?
**The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity -** I'm not even into romance but this tug my heartstrings on every episode, so wholesome
**Kaguya Sama Love is War** \- My Top Rom-Com
Ore Monogatari (a.k.a My love story)
