He could always say it was already injured prior to him encountering it, and he was just lucky enough to finish it off. Like sure a polar bear in real life would be extremely hard to kill if you had to defend yourself, but if the polar bear already was injured heavily from a fight with another animal your chances go up in winning.

There's not really any good need for him to keep his strength a secret. Krena is roughly as strong as him and is open about her strength. Nothing bad happened to her. And the Church has already been updated about the new summoner class.

It might not be a very well known fact, but it's very easy to break bird bones.
They have great tensile strength but bad compressive strength.
With a club, you need relatively little strength to kill one.
Now, this isn't a normal bird, so I don't know if that line of thinking would fly.

IMO he kills it and as a consequence he gets allowed to join the men in the future hunts.

this is a B rank monster, which usually is a pretty high tier in isekai worlds, to the point where even his father didn't want to fight them in earlier episodes

depending on the EXP scale curve, even 1% could be a lot
it could be those types of "games" where lv1➞2 = 10 EXP, lv60➞61 = 10,000,000 EXP

for him, lv1➞2 would be 1000 EXP, but if he gets 100,000 exp in a single go, that's going to send him upwards for a ton of levels

i guess we'll have to see whether the show wants to be grounded or a power fantasy, but i rarely see the former in isekai unfortunately

yeah specially considering his summons are like G and F rank lol, so they won't be useful on a fight for combat power, just utility, while we don't know his personal rank (as he gets buffs from his cards)

we know he has high magical stats potential (S-rank mana, etc), lower physical stats (STR), decent AGI, etc. But those are just the potential for growth. He is level 1, so he has no stats besides what a normal human of his age would have (outside said card buffs).

and he lost a bunch of cards already, so his buffs are almost gone. He is not that different from a random kid.

and he has no weapon. His toy sword (wood, for training) won't cut anything

His summons drop orbs when they die, iim betting its exp, i think he can lvl up by killing his own summons, they mentioned you can only lvl up by killing stuff. His mom is like lvl 0, and she keeps stamping on his summons, i feel sge will lvl up and then he will exploit this mechanism

Since all his "buffs" are going to drop with each of his summon defeated, I wonder if maybe Krena will make an appearance and save the day?
Or maybe his new summon 'Appo's' aroma ability works differently on monsters, like disorients or puts them to sleep.

I'm glad Rodin didn't die, I enjoy seeing the family and these sort of settings have parents, particularly fathers die so I wouldn't be surprised if that was what happened. It's sad that Rodin is forced to take that kind of responsibility when the serfs lives are already at risk with just themselves.

Since Appo's aroma was close to the laundry rack I thought we'd see a mention of how good Allen or his family smelled. Allen feels like there's still a use but maybe it'll be used a lure, didn't from the frogs' provoke?

I'm looking forward to seeing how Allen will act now that he'll stop holding back. I think his summons would be really helpful for the hunts.

He's got the maturity to handle an odd conversation with his family, he's had the stats to assist in a ton of ways for a long time, and I struggle to accept an adult that avoids both to throw a rock at a tree thousands of times while his pregnant Mom is working the fields.

This story beat of a traumatic event inspiring more mature behavior works for a literal child. It's just embarrassing for a grown man to require it for taking action.

To be fair I do find this a rather weird take to imagine in reality though. 7 years is like, really long. And I'm saying that as someone of an age where the years are very much blurring together. But even so, 7 years is still a very long time, and I find the concept of associating your 7-year-reality as a game just because you have a game interface quite bizarre. If nothing else you should be well aware by then that it's a game you're not getting out of y'know, which functionally makes it no different from reality.

I'm not really hating on this series for that though, most reincarnation isekai end up doing this in some form. Generally speaking I chalk it up more as a thing for the reader than anyone else, since to the reader it's only been a few hours.

As a person, he definitely didn't had a lot of connections to real people which is why he wanted so badly to immerse himself in video games. I've read 6 novels, I'm well aware of what he's like. But like I said, I was only half talking about this series. It's a general trend of isekai's for characters to spend anywhere from months to more often years before they "suddenly realise" it's not a game. Taking so long to come to such realisations is simply not something that I can comprehend, but since so many series do this, I mostly just ignore it.

Rather, the whole world twists in pretzels to affirm, that their worlds are just a game and power fantasy for them.

I honestly couldn't really tell whether the VA was speaking "B" or "D" in that scene, so I can't really fault the subtitling team.

It's "Hell Mode" but the world is shockingly nice for a feudal society. The commoner kid actually apologized to someone of a lower class than him. That's kind of nice. Usually side characters of higher classes in anime like this are always complete dick holes.

This anime is great. And the MC learning the value of family is great. I actually kind of wish he had learned it by earnestly getting upset for his father. Like he would catch himself sad and fearful for his family have the revelation rather than passively like he did. It's just a less compelling way to tell a story.

He went to hunt ducks, but it was Albaheron season. He can't prepare a proper strategy since he doesn't know what an Albaheron is like in combat, so taking a stab at it is not a bad choice.

Firstly he knows it is D rank.
Option 1 - He could let it go and stay safe.
Option 2 - Bring out multiple summons, hide them and use his boosted strength to defeat the creature.
Option 3 - He literally used a metal rod to clear the field. Overwhelm the Heron with summons and stab with the metal rod.

He already knew that losing a summoned creature destroys the boost and he already loses the MP used to summon.
So he should have summoned them in secret.
Not thrown them as fodder to the bird.
He used his dumb wooden sword to fight the bird.

He is supposedly an OP Gamer who cleared every game with easy and needed a HELL mode game to get some stimulation.
Basically he is supposed to be similar to Sunraku from Shangri La.
How did he even win any game with his low IQ?

This one is making more and more sense as it goes. Summoner is OP, we have scads of shows that have let us know this, so how do you nerf it? You make it so you just can’t get the good summons without grinding hard, not to mention needing to luck out with your fusions.

Him being able to do every combination of fusions is something that’s only feasible early game. As it ramps up the maths is going to be against him as he has to figure out which combinations of combinations of summons do something good.

And there’s another nerf that they’re teasing and I really hope they make good on it and that’s the insane defence checks he’ll need to make to summon at a high level if everything shoots out and hits him in the face. Summon electric eel, paralysed. Summon phoenix, burning. Summon mammoth, frozen and crushed.

Really though, we already knew that this show was going to give us some of that tasty spreadsheet action but with Appo in the mix it’s going to become a good ol’ resource management game and you just love to see it

This anime is soooo slow. I feel like most things here could be skipped. Condensed this feels like one and a half episodes max.

Do we really need to take a minute long look at his stats like five times per episode? Do we really need to see him try all the things he states arent doing anything to advance him? Like dont get me wrong, i dont mean the family stuff. Thats great. Finally an isekai where the parents and family are important. But theres just so much info thats not yet interesting or needed, and so much mundane stuff that just gets repeatet a million times.

Finally some progress, then the episode ends.

Also hell mode? Bro was a super strong baby, and gets a ton of summons and stat buffs every few minutes. And now he will probably go from kid to impossibly strong in two episodes.

Feels like they cant decide on if they wanna make this feel like a grind, or a standard "im the strongest cause cheat skills" anime, and it leads to weird af pacing.

The pacing is correct because your last point is flat out false. At no point whatsoever Allen ever became the strongest already or has cheat skills, he still can't even beat Krena despite training and buffs. Hell Mode is all about the grind, so of course it will be slow. Why can't people just understand that already despite being mentioned every episode and being in the show title?

I find it a bit silly that technically the best strategy for a Summoner is not to summon monsters but rely on their buffs.

I was amused by the god(s) saying "we did this for you, now stop opening tickets you little twerp" in a less unkind manner.

I’m not sure it’s the best per se. I assume your warrior classes have good physical stats and abilities that make them fight better. If you just use the stat boosting element you’re probably going to be a step behind the proper warriors. So you have to leverage your summons while trying not to lose too many. Seems like it could strike a kinda neat balance, we’ll see how well that fleshes out though.

As a super rare new class it might just be OP by the stat boosts alone though.

Well his summons are still pretty low level but they do all have their own unique buffs and abilities which will probably get more useful as they rank up.
