Anime recommendation with female main character

Based on the title, I’m looking for an anime with a female main character. I want something focused on assassin-type or strong female fighter battles. I’ve already watched Spy×Family, and I really love Yor’s character. I also watched Sakamoto Days and liked Osaragi’s fighting style.

I know it’s old, but have you seen Ghost in the Shell? Major Motoko Kusanagi is one of my favorite protagonists of all time. I grew up watching the movie and Stand Alone Complex. Also Black Lagoon is great. I just have grandpa recommendations today apparently.

Well, thinking about assassin titles with female main characters the title that mainly comes to mind is Noir (and adjascent the other 2 titles of Bee Train's girls with guns trilogy - Madlax and El Cazador de la Bruja).

Also Canaan would definitely fit and maybe even R.O.D.

Kara no Kyoukai - Badass female protagonist who uses a knife. Gorgeous animation by ufotable. Dark urban fantasy. Female and male leads' VAs also got married irl, so that's fun.

Ga-rei: Zero, especially with JJK just airing lol.

I really love a 'monk' fighting style so I'd like to suggest a personal fave, Air Master.

For some reason female assassins tend to be supporting characters rather than the main protagonists. Basilisk has quite a few awesome female ninjas. And Shadow/Kage, but that one is pornographic.

Also Blue Eye Samurai, it is great.
