Holy shit, what a crazy fucking backstory!

*Holy* shit, Shinra isn't a Hero, he's Jesus?
Mary the mother virgin = Mari the mother virgin?
Then what about Sho?

We just saw him sprout some Angel wings in the Adolla link with his mom's doppelganger, so does that mean he would be like "The Holy Spirit"?
Then who's God in the world? The Evangelist, who wants to destroy the world?

I was not expecting this to draw such heavy parallelism to Christianity / maybe actually be about Christianity?
A whole lot of things make more sense now with the doppelgangers looking live actual devils/demons, and Adolla resembling Hell.
But, now I have a ton more questions on how this is suppose to all fit together.
Damn! What a crazy episode!

So the battle between Benimaru and Hibashi has caused the moon to literally transform into familiar, grinning, sliver of a moon. THIS is apparently people's collective conscious image of the moon, straight from Adolla. And all Benimaru cares about is they still have a moon to toast to their fallen former captain with. Let's hope they never have to fight the Adolla version of Beni.

Look, it's Lich...I mean, Doctor Marimo! Whose face is all hair! And brings tiding of how the inevitable merging of this world and Adolla may bring about a true scorching apocalypse...because if they're bringing people together with the world that exists in their collective thoughts, then it may in fact come to the tail end of human imagination...the end...their death.

It's kind of surreal to see Sho and Arrow in casual clothes and trying to look like normal people (emphasis on TRY), though Arrow looks really nice in her outfit. Sho is apparently REALLY popular with the ladies, though watch out that you don't get an Arrow in the back.

Having the ability to stop time is surprisingly convenient for infiltrating and stealing personal records to get to the bottom of your family! Look at Sho's smiling face when he finds out his moms' name!

But the one thing he can't get to the bottom of is the lack of a father in ANY of the records. It seems like Mari Kusakabe was the Virgin Mary, IE she had Shinra AND Sho as virgin brothers without having ever had sex or a relationship with anyone.

Obviously as a teen Mari wanted to get to the bottom of how this happened, but inevitably she just rolled with it and accepted that she was pregnant. Even after her family disowned her, cut her off from the "Abe" last name, she still resolved to have her baby and love it with everything she has. And even back then Shinra, was a kicker.

Jeez, the boys' grandmother came by JUST to rip into the mom about how she brought shame onto their family for her "loose" ways, never believing her that she was never involved with anyone, and cursing out Shinra as a devil child. Well, who needs you! As far as Mari is concerned, Shinra is the legendary hero who will save the world and that's all that matters!

All this backstory is coming out of Sho Adolla Linking with his mom in Adolla, and finally understanding who his big brother truly is...a hero, the second coming of Jesus Christ, the savior this world desperately needs. Even if society tried to write him off or cast him as the "Devil," deep down he was always meant to save everything. And now it's Sho's job as his angelic apostle to show the world who his brother really is. And he finally lets loose a true teethy Kusakabe grin!

Company 8 is all set to mobilize to stop the 8th Pillar! And lucky for them they've got a Hero on their side.

You know, when I first started this anime about Firefighters with fire powers I did not expect we'd get to "maybe the protagonist is a tulpa of Jesus Christ"

It's still crazy that [the Soul Eater moon shows up in this series.](https://i.imgur.com/Nwe9jBb.jpeg) To think that Benimaru is responsible for changing the moon because his fight against Hibachi [ended up bringing the Adolla closer.](https://i.imgur.com/d1qcnTB.jpeg) I'm really curious how this will all connect to Soul Eater.

It was pretty fun [watching Sho and Arrow trying to blend in](https://i.imgur.com/Lytiq4A.jpeg) while on their secret mission to learn more about Sho's family. I did not expect both Shinra and Sho [would be virgin births.](https://i.imgur.com/JYfRcjt.jpeg) I thought this episode would finally reveal who their father is. O_O

Shinra is really a full pack of delight. fieren and fire force make fridays. I was waiting on the Mary drop, but wasnt sure, it was in-universe until the doc came.

I really liked this episode and the things that were revealed, it's sad that Mari had to go through the birth of two children on her own. Her mother really gave her a good look of what kind of mother she should never be so I'm glad how loving she was with both Shinra and Shou. It's even sadder that she didn't get to see them grow up but it seems like she's still watching over them from Adolla.

It's interesting that the feathers whenever Shou used his ability would actually be a hint to him being an angel that guides the hero, Shinra. It'll be nice to see the brothers working together but I'm sure it won't be made easy for them.

In Shinra the Christ we believe, he will save us from our sins, can I get an amen!?

Other than the bombshell that both Shinra and Sho were virgin births, and everyone commenting on the Soul Eater Moon, the big bomb was that Sho is a very fashionable young man.

The collective consciousness - reminds me a bit of Code Geass as well. Though there it couldn't (iirc?) affect the real world all that much. Here it seems to subtly drive the entire world.

So now the opening of "The most feared cause of death is Death by Fire" finally ties into the story, such a nice (not so) little touch

So not just Jesus but double Jesus. I had to rewind and double check mom's name when I realized what they were doing, and then I laughed a lot. There was even a Christmas star, younger brother was born on 12月25日, and for far longer than just this reveal they've been doing the angel feathers thing with both brothers. Mangaka must be a member of the 'authors that use subtext are cowards' school of thought, and I approve.

I'm pleased that they permanently changed not just the ocean waves but the moon too. In-world it may be a really horrible thing that's developing but from the outside looking in I love to see that kind of change stick.

Guys you can tease me since I know it’s the final season but I am still confused about Adolla realm in the sense I don’t have that sense of clarity. It’s just that I didn’t do recap and it’s been time so I can’t recall stuff. I know adolla and doppelgänger is about people’s conception of things but I would still like some clarity. If there is any kind soul who can take their time to explain me everything- how does the idea behind Adolla work and how it’s affecting the real world, meaning behind Shinra’s birth (pre cataclysm people manifesting it and all)- thanks

When it clicked for me that after the incomplete cataclysm them being in the **Tokyo** empire ended up being the reason their world became anime because that’s how the Japanese people perceived themselves.

Man what a twist who wouldve thought Fire force would get meta like that.

OHH THE MAN ON THE MOON SHIT IS WHY THE MOON IS LIKE THAT... I'm wondering if that "Man on the Moon" went into designing the Moon for SOul Eater or the design came after and then it just sort of fit into the narritive anyways?

WAIT HOLY FUCK THEN DID THE FIRST GREAT CATACLYSM JUST TURN EVERYONE INTO FUCKING ANIME CHARACTERS WITH PYROTECHNIC POWERS? What kind of image of humanity were they cooking with during the before-before era there or I guess the First Great Cataclysm was incomplete but if some parts of Addola kept being there from the first G.C. then there must have been some wild type of culture shock going on there or I am having a completely off the mark take on this.

Maybe pre-The First Great Cataclysm that was incomplete people were just really into isekai anime, and Avatar The Last Airbender so some shit so everyone became anime and got fire powers because the Fire Nation actually did win in the long run.

Imagine being the first person to give birth to the first 3rd gen and your baby is on fucking fire coming out. They probably had to get some 2nd Gens on standby as nurses to control the flames incase or some shit that would be wild.

I mean if there is a stroy about the Virgin Mary and Jesus Christ in Fire Force then I am going with the headcannon that majority of humanity pre-The First Great Cataclysm just really liked the Fire Nation and Isekai so that is what ended up converting the world to the post-Great Cataclysm.

Man this episode was wild with the lore especially off the action packed one from last week.

Probably gonna rewatch last week's episode again cause it was one of the best 1-episode fights that I liked just as much as Zoro vs King from OP.

Season 3 of Fire Force is going hard, shame there is only so many episodes left but it is getting mighty interesting with everything

I wonder if it’s intentional, but the history of Japan being nuked and having an entire culture shift, and then literally becoming a nation know for Anime/Manga.

The great cataclysm will destroy Japan, and it looks like, from the first one, it turned the world into a literal anime.

Having Sho call Shinra a "hero" is funny seeing as Sho's Eng. dub VA, Justin Briner, is best known for playing Deku in MHA.

Can't believe I only just discovered that Fire Force and Soul Eater are by the same mangaka. Fire Force's style always reminded me of Soul Eater, but I assumed it was just a coincidence. But after seeing the moon this episode (I know we've seen it in openings before), I'm like, "wait a minute...", and sure enough, not a coincidence.

I thought Arrow was going to compliment the girls who called Sho cute.

I find it funny Sho went through all the trouble to get his family registry but didn't bother to get any publicly available formation about Shinra. So everyone who knows Shinra knows the official story is that there was an Infernal at his house the day he awoken his 3rd generation powers and his mother and brother were burned so hard not even their bones were left (this is actually possible by the way, although at a bit of a higher temperature than the point flesh burns). Even those that didn't know he was rumored to kill his mother would know that story. And the fact that he went back to society after a short stint with the Fire Force (actually Haijima but I don't think that's public knowledge) should convince anyone of his innocence. He went to a normal high school before joining the academy. Does Sho find any of this out? No.

For humans, parthenogenesis is off the table so Sho and Arrow should have just came to the simple conclusion the father wasn't acknowledged. I don't know why they checked further since they would have no reason to, but I guess it's good that they did.

A virgin test? I was going to wonder if this was hymen pseudo-science since those can break with things like a rough horse ride. But this is a world where [pi can be ](https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/1l4z26z/comment/mwewj73/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button)calculated people spontaneously burn, and Shinra explicitly says the humans of the old world were visibly human but different than them. So I guess this isn't too strange.

From Shinra's grandma's perspective I can understand her anger and not wanting anything to do with Shinra. Your daughter having sex and not keeping track of the calendar is just normal human nature. Your daughter having a child and then lying to your face about the father is another thing. She doesn't buy the virgin birth idea understandably, so "obviously" there is a father.

I just love Mari's face when she realizes says "I think it's coming" when it's Shinra's time.

I previously thought their father died before Mari internalized or both children were just accidents and that's why he wasn't there. I didn't like the virgin birth idea at first. I was thinking "OK introducing the idea of Virgin birth in this world is a stupid plot point unless they're going to make it relevant to the rest of plot like compare Shinra to Jesus or something" and they checked that exact box, so I guess no complaints here.

I was going to say Jesus isn't depicted like that and I thought pre-catalysm was our world. But then again, any depictions of Jesus made by the survivors of The Great Cataclysm might be a bit different than our own.

Since the 8th are fugitives, how have they been eating? Benimaru just pays the food bills?

I don't understand the split cours. If they needed time to make all the episodes, why not start the 3rd Season in January and run it continuous like the 3rd season?

This episode only adapted 4 chapters again after the massive 9 chapters from last time. From what I have noticed, the biggest omission was the new girl from Squadron 1. At this point, we are either getting large swath of chapters just not being adapted, or they are adapting more than ep14 worth of chapters per episode. With how fairly faithfully David Pro is adapting this, the first option doesn't feel right. The second option also doesn't feel quite right but it is a non-zero chance. This whole rumor about this being the final season feels a bit BS but the op does make you think it is the case. Another option is that while this is the final anime season, we are getting a movie or a big special finale. It would be just a massive shame if they do starting skipping or cramming loads of chapters just to end it when they are doing a really good job so far.
