What's everybody's thoughts on Love Through a Prism?
While it is sad it wasn't released weekly. At the same time, I really think the series works so well in a binge and flows so well. That I can't complain much about.
I loved it. I love the use of artistry with both leads and how they develop over the course of the show. It was a great use of romance, drama, and visual arts.

Why? You could just wait a week in between episodes if you wanted.
So refreshing to get an original animation that is wrapped up neatly in a bow.
well i really loved it….
🥰
The connections they built with one another felt deeply nostalgic to me. It reminded me of the friendships that I’ve forged throughout my life—all the good moments and the difficult ones; and more than anything, it highlighted how those everyday interactions can vanish in an instant.
I was happy it didn't end with them being together, even if I vastly preferred Shin as a character over Kit.
He knew she didn’t love him, which killed him inside, so when he saw her laughing again, he knew it was better to let her go. Plus, I don’t think he was really happy, either. Their dynamic was very sweet and I liked how they decided together what the right thing to do was.
I’m so overwhelmed by this damned series. Specifically the ending. I can’t emotionally digest their inability to communicate their goddam emotions. Chasing after boats, crying in churches. Kit holding Lili’s f@*%{ boat ticket as he’s leaving, I’m just SOBBING still!!!! And the ending is so unsatisfying, a peck and then a kiss that pans up to the sky. CONFESS CRY EMBRACE HOLY$@@$&#*^#{ 😡🤬😤😭😭😩 just give me something that feels like an appropriate climax to their reunion after 20 episodes of build!!!
I CANT I CANT I CANT.
In retrospect I should’ve paced watching the episodes rather than binging them all at once and not processing my own emotions after each one. But after the episode where he leaves her behind (AGAIN) In Japan I don’t know if I would have ever continued it from my heart just shattering.
The show being centered around art really inspired me to paint again, so I felt so attached to it. It being in itself animated art, having this unsatisfying reuniting, I feel so drained and depressed.
I am working up the courage to read the manga in hopes to heal my heartbreak rather than straight up denial and imagining my own rewrite where they’re together MUCH sooner.
I really appreciate so much about this show, In all honesty even the parts that are sh**%^tty sh**%^tty stupid dumb heartbreak. I love the concepts with Dorothy choosing her fiancé over her love for Joffrey, shin and his love for lili and their mutual respect and relying on each other. Peter deciding to separate from his art and choose what he’s going to do for work.
I love the independence lili finds and explores by herself, and kits similar growth and traveling the world. And Then finding each other.
I both Hate and love the series. The hate will hopefully die down as I feel unable to go about my day with this heaviness 😭😂.
Overall 9/10….9.2
Or even Kitt not taking Lili with him from Japan? Wouldn’t all his near death experiences make him realize that life’s too short to let go of someone you love OR AT LEAST COMMUNICATE IT if she chooses not to go then at least you said it??
On the other hand, I think 4 episodes of the war itself would have been interesting instead of a time skip. OkI just finished the show and needed to let this out. Good night.
Im glad im not the only one that was upset with the ending. I was frustrated because they like built up so much conflict and as soon and one issue was resolved there was another one in the making. Like she got first place and got to stay and after thinking she was leaving no offense but where tf did the whole war thing come out of 😭 It triggered me so bad that he just left and every time she wanted to confess her feelings to him, she would just insult him. I was like omg and then she went to japan and got engaged to shin after thinking kit had died. It was honestly psychological torture. Then he was alive and she found him in Japan because he wanted to get her and they just announced like oh yeah we’re engaged as if she didn’t know he had feelings for her. My soul died when he threw her ticket and she took a whole year after that to go back to England😭😭😭 the time skips were brutal and then all that just for a peck and nothing juicy of them being in love. It was just them painting in the cave 😭. Emotional damage at its finest.
Stopping in yokohama must’ve been a super lucky happenstance for him to see if he could at least try and see Lili in person.
Once again he was doing the honarable thing and not putting her in the awkward position of having to chose there and then between him and Shin. Again - Shin is his friend and even he must’ve known there was a chance they’d all had moved on in the years that passed.
So a very very natural way for things to play out.
I love that Lili went back to London on her own strengths and they were finally able to be together once the timing worked out.
As frustrating as it was to watch - this is much more in line with what could actually happen in real life and I love that we could see these two silly lovebirds reunite after everything they’ve been through!

I got super mad when both of them struggled to express what they felt. I whisper shouted many times, "*Admit, alreadyy"* while watching a few scenes. I was upset when Lily let Catherine bully her. It was so innocent, and naive of lily.
I was taken aback when kit said congratulations upon learning about shin and lily's wedding. My heart broke all over agaiinnn. But, the subtle way of showing tickets in his hand, while returning back on the ship was a hint that he chose to get away from there asap, in fact, he couldn't stay there for dinner after learning about their wedding. I just couldn't fully enjoy the ending. I was muttering, "Hug alreaddy" even when they reunited at the pinky promise beach. Probably couldn't enjoy the ending because of binging and so much of emotional pile-up i guess. After completing the series, I told myself: "I'm gonna go to bed happily tonight😭"
Yes, I did. Totally loved that scene 💎🤌🏽
Some spoilers in here.
If you thought someone was dead and they came back to your life and you had unsaid feelings and words, I would never let them go again! It’s so frustrating! Like love each other already! Like why aren’t they fighting to be with each other and just letting things just flow on their own!? Like go get the love of your life!!! I just wish they had more episodes of finally being together or talking about their feelings. Even with the ending credits scene. I feel like the last episode was rushed. At least they are finally happy and together after all these years.
But overall, loved this series and it was beautiful. I had so many different emotions while watching it.
If I'm ever watching it again, I might have to avoid the whole WWII starts thing and go straight to when they meet again to spare me of the stress
tears.. tears....
I don't know. So much drama and lack of attention to second characters .. like they didn't even show Joffery in the end and i hate how Dorothy actually loved him but still chose a safer option..kinda sad..
I hate how she kept on running after him.. and everyone was like...tell her your feelings...but like why he doesn't do it too.
Also..I didn't like they focused more on Drama then the actual art
Like if you have watches blue period. They really focus on the art there...
Shin was obviously a good guy!
I don't know. I feel it needed to be 35 episodes..not wrapped in a rush..
Also another really good scene
Your sister is clearly trolling.
tbh i wanted more screen time for the mc's but still overall it was beautiful
Both of them carry this stubbornness to rebel against these expectations set on them in their own way even if they do experience a moment of burden from it that leads to them temporarily quitting art(with Kit fulfilling his duties after his father's death and the start of WWII; and Lili when she returned home to Japan and work in the family business), yet ultimately they find a way back to art again...which is through each other. What I love about the conclusion is that even if they're pursuing art again they still find a way to embrace their roles in a way that is ultimately theirs. Kit embraced his role as a noble by diplomacy yet he continues to paint, while Lili sets up the Ichijoin boutique in England while getting back to painting (also when I found out that Catherine's true passion was dressmaking, the first thing that came to mind was "Oh my gosh...Lili's family owns a kimono boutique. They can work together!!!" and I was so right with my prediction!!)
For most of my life I was a stranger to the romance genre so this is like my 3rd or 4th one and I never thought I could love this genre so much. Like I don't have to wait in bated breath if my ship ends up together, the whole show is about their relationship, and it's so refreshing. And this anime really really made me respect romance. I realized I like it so much when an interpersonal relationship is used as a storytelling tool to capture a strong theme. To yearn for something you cannot have, which also reflects what the setting of the story has (ex. Kit and Lili come from two different worlds and socio-economic backgrounds). I like it when it's not purely their relationship and it's connected with something else, which in this case is art. I like it that the show valued the two main leads' friendships with the other characters (I really love Catherine and Lili's friendship. Catherine is the GOAT), and that the love rivals at the end of it are respectful and even supportive of their relationship. (Also that they were not villainized)
I was really stressed during the part WWII happened, when Lili was too tongue-tied to properly confess her feelings to Kit yet still have enough gall to insult him, and when the everything was grey. I even considered quitting because I was so stressed about whether or not those two will end up together that I skipped straight to the ending to see if they did, and yet it still didn't quell my tense mood that I went back to where I last left and finished everything. They are really good with the environmental storytelling and it was a really nice touch how lilies were used as a motif given that it represents purity and rebirth. I never knew that the thought of Kit being dead would cause me so much stress. I never felt this much stress over a character that I felt like my heart started beating normally again when he turned out to be truly alive. I like how the first splash of color in a sea of grey was first his hair, then his eyes. But then it completely went to color when she painted again. It's also how I feel about their relationship. It works so well because even if the story is about their love, it is a story about their love which is art.
I think the problem comes in with the timeskips? Like in the beginning suddenly 6 months pass, which would've probably had a lot of interactions that we missed between the leads. Oh and the fact that suddenly Peter disappears and comes back feeling better but we never really get to see that struggle minus the hint and the beginning and the snapping, he doesn't talk to anyone about it and they barely bring up the fact Joffrey probably talked to him. Which btw, talking about Peter reminds me of how despite him also struggling, the friends only focused on Kit 😭 Ik he's the male lead but jeez...Made me feel bad for him esp bc I related to his struggle lol.
Oh and, because this is the 1910s I would've loved some more references to social issues that they dealt with at that time period (minus the war) because, despite it being based on our reality, it's very peaceful in this series. There was only slight stereotyping and a few references to sexism in the beginning, but it becomes pretty distant later on. It feels very modern despite the clothes and the technology. Not asking it to be very dark and awful, but some more references to struggles they all would've dealt with would've been a nice touch to give the characters and the world more depth that I felt were lacking. But this is just a nitpick, it's not necessary lol, not really a plot issue.
The animation was beautiful, really liked the art style. The black and white part with the subtle film texture was cool too. And as I said, I really did love the scenes when they talked about art, as an artist it really hit hard and the overall ending message of follow your true dreams, even if they do change, was nice. It gave me a sense of peace with my own art. I fear it went too quickly for me because I would've loved to see all the characters' artwork more 😭
It was heartbreaking to see how a war can cause sudden changes, and it forces people to give up their dreams. This led to the final episodes where Lili suffers, but tries to do her best and Shin, the gentleman that he is, takes care of her, as he promised to Kit. It is refreshing to see how Shin respects the feelings Lili has for Kit, even though we can see scenes where he feels moments of heartbreak.
In the end both Lili and Kit knew they have loved each other the whole time, they were too young at the moment of the Academy to understand the bittersweet part of the life that can cause sudden changes, but at the end, they are where they always wanted to be, at the cave painting lilacs together.
Everything else is good.
Maybe because I don't watch a lot of Netflix shows but are subs made with AI ?
Amazon is the only one that I have seen that uses AI subs.
