typical anime fans. complain day and night that anime are bad or whatever.
but when there is an actually good anime, they dont watch it cuz its not popular and not a battle shonen with action every episode
PenguinBread2026-01-24 02:36
Orb was actually quite popular dunno wtf Charlie is smoking. Yeah it wasn't mainstream popular, but within the anime community it surely was
RoastedPotato-1kg2026-01-24 02:55
tbh I've never heard of it and I ve watched anime for 5-6 years
MaskOfIce422026-01-24 03:03
Well it's only been out for a year, but also probably depends on the anime circles you frequent. It definitely was decently talked about as it was coming out, and if nothing else you may have seen fans on reddit going NANDO DEMO or "10% given to Potocki"
Scary_Strike_3742026-01-24 03:56
Actually tho 10% to potocki I saw it aswell
ParticularSimple8892026-01-24 02:57
sure, as popular as my ass
qwertyqwerty45672026-01-24 05:27
its not really anyone else's fault you've been under a rock my dude.
droidtron2026-01-24 03:37
The contemplative elf anime doing well too.
Lucksury2026-01-24 03:39
It’s quite easy to assess popularity. Was it nominated in the anime ~~popularity~~ awards?
abandoned_idol2026-01-24 03:59
Charlie makes a living off of drama (nothing wrong with that though! Gotta eat. Gotta sleep.). Don't place too much weight on what someone says on the internet.
Querez2026-01-24 05:02
I'm confused. Are you saying it causes drama for him to say Orb wasn't as popular as he thought it was? For him to just be slightly uninformed?
abandoned_idol2026-01-24 05:10
I'm making the following claims:
1) Charlie is a Youtuber, and uses drama/news as a means of monetizing/earning a living.
2) The opinion of a celebrity is about as important as mine. They are unimportant.
Ichyio2026-01-24 05:27
the opinion of a celebrity is as important as yours and mine, but he has an audiency and is using his reach to tell them about Orb, which is more valuable than almost anyone in the sub tbh. So it's still nice of him to talk about what he liked in a video
MembershipNo20772026-01-24 04:48
Could be in his circles it wasn't. It was popular here and there but overall I wouldnt say it was.
Controller_Maniac2026-01-24 05:04
I mean yeah it is popular in anime watching circles, and I’m sure everyone on r/anime has heard of it, but mainstream wise? Not as popular as per say vinland saga or any of the big names although this may be the best anime I’ve watched last year
Komorebi_LJP2026-01-24 05:13
very popular in Japan. Won many awards and the like as well.
Controller_Maniac2026-01-24 05:16
I mean, almost any popular anime known on this sub would be normal knowledge there, but in the western world, it’s still a bit niche compared to how good it was. The only mainstream anime for casuals in the west is Shonen anime right now
DragoSphere2026-01-24 06:19
Its OP also broke some records iirc
duaneodubhan2026-01-24 19:35
When i went to japan, i kept hearing this on the malls
Quigs44942026-01-24 05:29
This is the first im hearing its name. Don't believe my friends ever mentioned it either
Chadsawman2026-01-24 06:23
I've seen it mentioned in anime communities but as you've said it's definitely not something the average watcher would know or even talk about
yepgeddon2026-01-24 07:03
While it was airing Orb was often shouted out in the weekly threads. It's an exceptional show and I've got a few of my friends to run through it.
Sentryion2026-01-24 10:47
I think releasing on Netflix with zero fan fare didn’t do it much favor in terms of spreading its name. Not to mention the gritty historical setting turns people off fast too.
kingEdward222026-01-24 06:21
Isn't its OP is one of the most heard in 2025 ? Its very popular show to the point its put the author on the map and they adapt 100 meters in a movie for him
WebbyRL2026-01-24 10:24
I'm quite confident Hyakuemu wasn't made in less than a year
RPO7772026-01-27 18:01
Generally, the extent to which an anime adaptation gets marketing budget is directly linked to how well the manga sold.
Chi was a hit (only hit manga get adapted) but it sold around 5M volumes of manga. Comparate that to say, Kaiju No. 8 that sold 14M, let alone series like JJM which sold 150M or DS that sold 220M and Chi is always gonna be more of an "Arthouse" anime, not a mainstream blockbuster.
It's the same reason your average Hollywood Summer BLockbuster is gonna get a much bigger budget an audience than your average Oscar Contender arthouse film. Quiet, thoughtful artistic works are generally not as popular as big loud action blockbusters.
It's not an anime thing, it's an entertainment thing.
Personally, I think one of the best anime I've seen in the past 5 years was Heike Story, and not many people ahve watched that lol.
Sea-Objective79432026-01-24 05:04
Maybe not in westren like have u see jjk fans dislike eps explain guling game Rule
Kougeru-Sama2026-01-24 05:50
It wasn't.
phurios2026-01-24 07:37
Well, i've never heard of the other anime he's talked about, "100 meters", although i don't usually watch sports anime. It seems like a banger but i've certainly missed it, like i could have missed orb, and don't remember ever seeing a post about it here. This when i am an avid watcher of seasonal anime, so i am lurking constantly around this sub to check discussions of episodes and such.
PenguinBread2026-01-24 07:45
While it was airing it was always quite high on the weekly rankings on this very sub.
phurios2026-01-24 08:14
Not sure you mean orb or 100 meters, since i wasn't very clear. I meant having missed 100 meters entirely, since i haven't seen anything about it.
Edit: But maybe that's just me tuning off sports (or running ones) anime in general, even if they are suposed bangers, like Run with the wind, also a good running one i never ended up watching. Or maybe it's just spite, because i loved running as a kid and now i can't because of a herniated disc.
PenguinBread2026-01-24 08:28
Ah I meant Orb. Thought you meant you missed Orbs hype
GGProfessor2026-01-24 10:15
100 Meters is a movie, which rarely ever reach the same levels of popularity as anime that air week to week. It also came out around the same time Reze hit American theaters, which obviously massively overshadowed it. It didn't hit streaming services until the end of the year. So yeah, 100 Meters is a bit niche, not surprising to have not heard of it.
Plerti2026-01-24 10:35
Was it? Because I've been in a couple of anime conventions last years (both during emission and after it finished airing) and the only merchandise I saw were shitty posters, and fanmade drawings in the artist aisle.
One would think it would be easy to find the most fucking recognizable and marketable item of the series, the wooden ball, but nope.
garfe2026-01-24 11:45
It's popular among people who watched it. It's not an actually well-known anime at all.
ManMakesWorld2026-01-24 16:00
Orb has not been popular in the US except for people who search out recommendations and don't mind subtitles (mostly anime watches in the US and UK onky watch dubbed).
The anime community is a VERY small percentage of anime viewers. When only a very small percentage of kids watch a kids movie.... you don't say "it was quite popular within a very specific subgroup of a niche community". You say it hasn't been very popular and deserves more attention.
The only other place, outside of Reddit, I've seen Orb mentioned was on Trash Taste. Charlie using his platform to further amplify the reach of the show is a good thing, but until it gets a dub...... it won't reach the levels of popularity it deserves.
MapleMelt2026-01-24 16:27
Not thaaat popular, it's like 1000+ in popularity on MAL (not the best metric but yeah)

Classic ball and gun gamer type shit, but for anime.

brother it's recommended as underrated anime every where. wtf are you on about.
manofboss82026-01-24 04:11
Anime fans are pretty stupid. Why? Because folk watch jjk and think it’s “good” and they won’t be able to tell you what the show is about
BosuW2026-01-24 04:53
folk is perfectly aware JJK is ass
BosuW2026-01-24 04:55
I keep saying ppl don't actually want something new, they just miss their first love

almost every time someone asks me for an anime rec the first one out of my mouth is ORB.
i haven’t stopped thinking about it since i watched it.
abandoned_idol2026-01-24 04:00
>i haven’t stopped thinking about it since i watched it.
That is so meta.
Thraggrotusk2026-01-24 20:13
Charlie usually reviews the seasonal action anime, so I'm surprised he's reviewing a show that's very much outside of that.
Netflix accessibility helps, I suppose.
porican2026-01-24 20:30
word. i don’t stream so unless it’s an exclusive im not typically aware of how wide availability is
everydaygamer282026-01-24 03:10
I watched this one recently and it is indeed very good. Wasn’t a big fan of the ending but it was still decent. Hopefully it gets a dub at some point.
Terrible_Donkey_82902026-01-24 03:20
My dumb ass straight up didn't understand the ending lol
sweetholo2026-01-24 03:30
main story became lost history, last two eps is known history
Separate_Dark_32812026-01-24 04:35
The last two eps is loosely based on history, rest is fiction
sweetholo2026-01-24 05:19
yeah, the main story is fiction, but it became lost history in that universe. the last two eps are known history in that universe that is indeed loosely based on IRL history
GGProfessor2026-01-24 10:19
Been a while but aren't there literally characters who died in the "lost history" that were alive in the "known history"? That's not just history being lost - that's timelines being rewritten.
PollutionLeft61802026-01-24 11:22
No both the Rafals are different characters meant to thematically show what could have been ... the lost history is pretty much solidified as the truth after the Letter is found
sleepyBear0122026-01-24 03:59
same lmao
clone692026-01-24 04:08
The guy from the last couple of episodes was a fictional depiction of a real scholar who inspired Copernicus.
Ok-Friend-66532026-01-24 03:33
Polish dub would be great
ApolloRT2026-01-24 03:33
Thankfully its one of these animes that even if the ending had 3 frames it wouldnt ruin it, it was all about the journey.
Largofarburn2026-01-24 03:37
Idk why I thought it was a Netflix production with English as the default.
I have been meaning to check it out and thought maybe my girlfriend would be interested, but she hates subs.
gta00122026-01-24 03:52
Legit coulda been an all time great if they nailed the ending. Instead it just kinda fizzled out.
abandoned_idol2026-01-24 04:00
You didn't enjoy the crazy solar cultists? I love cults!
PrinceZero19942026-01-24 05:48
The last 2 episodes does not exist for me. That's how I can say I watched a good anime.
kingEdward222026-01-24 06:23
I found the second half of the show to have a significant dip in quality , definitely not even close to anime of the year for me , 8/10 good show
ShielderKnight2026-01-24 17:28
I found the second half to be the best, easily a 9.8/10 show for me and my fav of the year behind Takopi and Apothecary s2.
Viktorv222026-01-24 10:38
Yeah ending didn't stick with me, otherwise it may have been 10/10. Still an awesome watch.
Orangeyouawesome2026-01-24 14:29
The ending was meant to be controversial to start and purposely make people confused to talk about it online. It was both based on real historical things but also not. It came off to me a bit manipulative as I thought there was a hidden or even sci fi meaning, but realistically made to be that way.
Still I think it's worth watching even for the second arc alone. Pretty much encapsulates the faith vs science aspect of human life and how they seem opposed but actually do exist in all of us.
Asgerond2026-01-24 03:16
Its my anime of the decade and i am very confident that it wont change.
Actual Peak Fiction. It moved me
Ishan8522026-01-24 03:19
Ahh, one of my favorite show is finally going mainstream! It’s an absolute tear jerker. Masterpiece.
Artsy7272026-01-24 03:25
I am willing to bet moist critical can single handedly revive/popularize any show or anime at will.
Artsy7272026-01-24 03:25
Orb becoming mainstream was NOT on my bucket list for 2026.
qwertyqwerty45672026-01-24 05:19
because it became mainstream in 2024.
Prince_of_DeaTh2026-01-24 12:41
it was less popular than The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic, is that a mainstream anime as well?
KawaiiMajinken2026-01-24 15:01
Far from mainstream.
Artsy7272026-01-24 19:07
It’s getting there
Dr_Kitten2026-01-25 03:30
>my bucket list for 2026.
Concerning...or inspirational?
MageAndWizard2026-01-24 03:26
I learned about Orb after watching 100 Meters anime in theaters. 100 Meters was my #1 anime film of 2025, and that's saying a lot since my most anticipated film was CSM Reze Arc (literally got her tattood). Also Demon Slayer was awesome. Yet here we are....100 Meters and then watched Orb. Absolutely recommend.
MrMrUm2026-01-24 03:47
heard about it when it came out, but then heard people saying it was kinda pseudo-intellectual/trying too hard to be deeper than it is so i didnt watch it, but ill prob give it a couple eps now
MrHara2026-01-24 04:21
You're not wrong. It's not bad, but it relied a bit too much on the main premise, kinda like a more poignant Dr Stone if you will. But to me it just didn't land as hard as it has for others. For me the only reason I kept watching was a specific character, and in the end I gave it a 6.5 with the comment "A little too full of itself.".
Herson1002026-01-24 06:01
If I had to describe the problems with the show, I'd say it's that it has two traits that are fine individually, but don't go well together:
First, it's a show that is very focused on its premise and leaves no room to explore anything else. The characters all lead very simple lives with hardly any extraneous details, and all of them are intensely devoted to thinking about astronomy, epistemology, and theology.
Secondly, the show is very slow paced, with lots of repetition. While some degree of repetition is necessary to convey its themes, it takes it pretty far. People have the same conversations over and over, and very little happens in each episode.
There are two ways that the show could resolve this conflict, IMO: The first is to abandon the second trait, and tighten the pacing considerably. I think the show could've easily been half as long and still would've had enough time to cover 100% of the the major storybeats, and the themes would've worked just as well. For instance, you could literally compress the first 3 episodes into 1 tightly-paced episode and lose nothing of value. An example of a show that pulls off this extremely tight, fast-paced, thematically-focused style is Ping Pong the Animation.
The second way that the show could've been better is to take the exact opposite approach, and broaden the scope of its themes. The characters could've lead richer lives with deeper relationships and more intrigue. All of the same core ideas would be the same, but the show would be more willing to explore tangentially related ideas and have more character-driven episodes. If it did this, then the slow pacing wouldn't be so much of an issue. An example of a show that pulls off the style I'm talking about is 3-Gatsu no Lion.
As it exists now, I think Orb is kind of boring. It's too long for how simple the characters are and how little actually happens in it. It only feels "full of itself" because it's really repetitive.
Komorebi_LJP2026-01-24 05:17
There is nothing pseudo-intellectual about it. Orb is mostly about philosophy, written by an author who actually studied Philosophy.
Its especially concerned with branches like epistemology.
Csyip2026-01-24 09:01
My monkey brain saw epsteinology for a split second.
Castor_0il2026-01-24 23:57
There's a lot of hackjobs that fool people with their "diplomas".
Devinology2026-01-26 05:28
Damn, as someone with a masters in philosophy I'm pretty excited to check it out then! That said, I'm always worried about so called "philosophical" shows or movies as they usually remain pretty surface level or just miss the mark entirely. Fingers crossed!
BiggieCheeseLapDog2026-01-24 05:23
Any show that attempts to challenge its audience to think will have criticisms of pseudo-intellectualism flung its way. I don’t think Orb is that at all because it takes its philosophy and gives it a very human element through its well realized characters. It is as intellectually stimulating as it is moving, which is why it’s a great show.
DistributionHour15802026-01-24 10:35
You can be deep without trying so hard to look deep. Tamayura, Sora no Woto, Haibane Renmei, Heike Monogatari, Shinsekai Yori, and Colorful (2010) all manage that. Orb doesn’t. Its themes end up overriding the characters, so they feel less like people and more like mouthpieces for the author’s ideas. That problem really shows in Act 3, where it becomes too much for me. Act 2 was a much better balance between making you care about the cast and pushing the themes. As someone who watches anime primarily for entertainment, I value characters that feel real and believable.
sprintlikeadeerman2026-01-24 16:40
I really liked Orb, but my main critique with the entire series is exactly that: every character feels like they have the same "voice". Outside of the individual ideologies which each character espouses (some of which are very compellingly explored), a conversation between any two characters could be swapped to any other two characters and their way of speaking would rarely feel out of place. I think Nowak, and occasionally Schmidt, avoid this issue (helped out by the phenomenal performances by their seiyuus), but I do agree that Act 3 is where it's most noticeable. After spending so much time with Act 2's cast, it's jarring when Act 3's characters are introduced and have a near identical written "voice" to the characters we just left.
Paco2012026-01-25 01:11
I also really liked orb. However, my main complaint started at episode 9. I'm an amateur astronomer so when a character made an impossible observation, I just couldn't believe it. It really took me out of my seat. I enjoyed the observations they made before but this one just killed it for me. Another issue I had was the lack of a certain object. That also bugged me a ton because its the actual reason why the evidence was able to be produced. It made the impossible observation possible to everyone not just 1 guy.
Thraggrotusk2026-01-24 20:10
I agree, it's a well-written show, but does fall flat compared to a lot of other similar anime.
Feels like baby's first "deep" anime, if you've only watched a bunch of shounen/shoujo type shows before.
Just finished Rakugo (Descending Stories) a few weeks ago, which shared a similar message about passing on traditions, and the difference was night and day.
Asgerond2026-01-24 15:56
Its not psuedo intellectual at all.
Its superbly directly, has very good characters that are gonna hook you instantly.
Has some of the best dialogue you will find in the medium, and despite the topic being about philosophy its very welcoming to anyone.
Its just overall a excellent show.
Castor_0il2026-01-25 00:00
> Its superbly directly
What? is this even english?
>has very good characters that are gonna hook you instantly.
Didn't work for me, watched half of the series. Chuuni one eye mofo was so absurdly obnoxious, cartoonishly villian voiced by the classic bad guy Tsuda kenjiro was both laughable and boring (it was meta choice to amaze the bottom of the barrel anime stans). Rafal felt like a ridiculous shonen protag that out of the blue he finds his call in life and does a 180 that goes against his whole character.
>Has some of the best dialogue you will find in the medium
The dialogues were heavily pretentious, not to mention unnatural. They didn't feel like real people imho.
>Its just overall a excellent show.
It's an overrated turd with objectively poor animation, heavily questionable directing choices, heavily dickrided by a small but loud fanbase.
kenshuou2026-01-25 01:23
"cartoonishly villian"
What? Is this even English?
You come across as far more obnoxious than any one eyed individual in the show, and you only wrote this comment. How much more obnoxious would you get with several anime episodes one could only wonder.
Most of what you said, and I'm being generous by saying most, is insipid drivel sourced by what seems to be a very pitiful mind. No wonder you found the anime pretentious since it's a miracle you can think at all.
Vj_vice2026-01-24 16:00
It isn’t pseudo-intellectual, it’s genuinely intellectual. It’s a story that challenges its audience to think and to reflect, which can shock the system of people who only consume media as content and nothing more.
Mind you, there isn’t anything inherently wrong with just consuming media without actively reflecting on it, the world’s hard enough as is. But I’d imagine that audiences with that mindset would have a different perspective on how Orb communicates its themes than I would
Whendfield1232026-01-25 07:41
I dont like those kinds of shows, but i liked orb. Just give it 3 episodes and you will see what its about. Its also kind of a thriller with the whole inquisition thing
VulpineWelder52026-01-24 03:56
This dude is the only reason why the anime will become popular now. I've been sick of seeing charlie's face for a while just from the sheer number of times people would shit on someone for thier taste or opinion on something, but as soon as he says the same thing, his statements are seen as gospel and everyone else is trying to be like him.
I fucking despise influencer (modern) culture.
M8gazine2026-01-24 04:01
Well I like Charlie :)
abandoned_idol2026-01-24 04:02
Hate the masses, not the Youtube guy.
I don't really care much for celebrities. Though I do worship Day9 (I have an "Orb" style shrine for that one).
VulpineWelder52026-01-24 04:09
Re-read what I said.
I never said I hated him. I think he's a decent guy. I said I despise influencer culture and the idiots and jerks who are a walking algorithm result and can't have either respect for anyone or anything or a thought of their own unless the right people say so, which is why I'm sick of seeing his face, because he and markiplier are the most common references from people in relation to that kind of behavior, which is why I said I was sick of seeing his face. I never once said I hated him, I said that's why I'm tired of seeing him.
No matter how many times people want to spit in my face, harass me, stalk me or even dox me for not worshipping some influencer, or even mock me for stating how I had the exact same opinion as any influencer before they even said it, it's not doing their cause any good and will not convince me to like them any more.
Also, I guarantee most of charlie's fans here will not read this and thanks to you will still believe I'm some random charlie hater who needs to be taught a lesson.
Ichyio2026-01-24 05:35
Dude... isn't that for everything? People need validation for anything in this day and age, doesn't matter the subject. Could be politics, could be about sports, could be about anime, it doesn't matter. People will always tent to agree with people who share the same opinion as yours. If the person in question is "famous" is even better, because now you have that person "validating" your opinion, which is dumb. You could still have your own opinion and still be wrong in a lot of things, doesn't matter if someone agrees with you or not.
And hey, I like Charlie and his reviews for some movies/series/animes. Watching him suffer almost every week talking about how bad was OPM S3 was something else lol.
gamikhan2026-01-24 03:59
[Orb] >!At the start I felt it was 10/10 but I stil feel kinda cheated that the whole orb anime influence into the discovery is simply an implacation about the movement of the earth, I would have liked to have seen a least realistic stoy or a more realistic sad story, the inbetween just didnt do it to me.!<
Scary_Strike_3742026-01-24 04:00
Orb has been absolute peak it's not jjk or dms or mha or even Hells paradise kinda popular but enough people have seen it to be like "10% to potocki" in places and a handful of people getting it. Plus it's so Peak that my sister's friend ended up watching the entire thing within a day after I reccomended it so ya it's no jjk but it will be remembered by more than 1 person
hoecakes_2026-01-24 04:04
I dont remember who this is or why posts of this dude keep finding me either 😭
clone692026-01-24 04:07
I just finished watching it. I'm not entirely happy with that last arc. That tutor was totally different from how he was much earlier.
Also, Nowak did nothing wrong. Best dad of the 15th century.
leliqi2026-01-24 12:25
The "tutor" is not the same person. It's something of an "alternate timeline" where he was the aggressor instead. Showing you the other side of the coin and how it could also be messed up.

Orb: On the Movements of the Earth is one of the beauriful Animes ever.
hikoboshi_sama2026-01-24 04:50
I always felt like this anime felt under the radar during its airing. It was rightfully rated here on this sub but i don't hear much about it outside. Glad Charlie is giving Orb the publicity it deserves.

It's literally history 😭✌️

Why do you guys care what some youtuber says?

Why do you care what some Redditor says?
It's just discussion, only Charlie has a big audience and his recommendations are going to reach a lot of more casual ears, which is why it's automatically somewhat interesting what he recommends to his viewers.
BasicArcher37692026-01-24 06:18
I watched the anime then bought the manga its just that good
Enryu_RT2026-01-24 07:37
Always happy to see people recommending Orb.
AUAAUH2026-01-24 08:26
This was amazing to watch as it aired. The part that stuck with me most was when they tried to hide a character's identity by concealing his face, but did nothing about his voice, and the character is voiced by one of the most recognizable voices in the industry.
Reez3772026-01-24 08:44
Meh it was boring show not just bcs it had no action it's just one of those shows that try too hard to be intellectual and deep but just didn't land. But damn Anime fans love to spread word masterpiece around lol I guarantee if u recommend this to non anime watchers or casual they will drop it after few eps, this is no where close to the level of death note or AoT like some people believe to
Shadow_Ass2026-01-24 09:23
I wasn't familiar with your game Charlie

After watching orb I should really check out 100 meters

The main character is a fucking idea.
It's peak.
LongjumpingCrazy3502026-01-24 17:06
Not among my favorites, but I'm rooting for this show's success as one that appeals anime fans with smart conversations about life instead of flashy action (I don't really care about battle shonen aside from a few exceptions tbh).
Devinology2026-01-26 05:22
I always rooted for Death Parade in this same way but it never gained much popularity and anybody I mentioned it to didn't seem to know about it or care. I thought it was one of the best series of the 2010s. Very clever and thought provoking.
It got a bunch of nominations and awards, but I feel like it flew under the radar in the mainstream. Has a decent English dub too. It only saw 12 episodes, which is criminal.
Just found this article right now while trying to check on it's popularity via google search to test my personal experience: [https://www.thegamer.com/death-parade-most-underrated-anime/](https://www.thegamer.com/death-parade-most-underrated-anime/)

To Your Eternity is also another great anime about an Orb and its movements around the earth.
brain_wrinkler2026-01-25 00:29
Is a shame the last episode ruins the entire series. Solid 9/10 until that ending.
lousychoice2026-01-25 03:00
Rafal in the burning church in the OP was such a good scene in the OP
Personal_Ad31222026-01-25 14:55
Saw it after the Gigguk video last year :" one of the best decisions I ever made. so much underrated but it's a masterpiece hands down

so tired of seeing this greasy fuck on every other subreddit.
beachbum3202026-01-29 06:16
Watched and completed it. Didnt like it. Good original story. But very anti climactic. Predictable. And it dragged on. That’s all.
Commentaires
but when there is an actually good anime, they dont watch it cuz its not popular and not a battle shonen with action every episode
1) Charlie is a Youtuber, and uses drama/news as a means of monetizing/earning a living.
2) The opinion of a celebrity is about as important as mine. They are unimportant.
Edit: But maybe that's just me tuning off sports (or running ones) anime in general, even if they are suposed bangers, like Run with the wind, also a good running one i never ended up watching. Or maybe it's just spite, because i loved running as a kid and now i can't because of a herniated disc.
One would think it would be easy to find the most fucking recognizable and marketable item of the series, the wooden ball, but nope.

Easily one of the greats in no time at all.
God it's all so impressive.
i haven’t stopped thinking about it since i watched it.
That is so meta.
Netflix accessibility helps, I suppose.
I have been meaning to check it out and thought maybe my girlfriend would be interested, but she hates subs.
Still I think it's worth watching even for the second arc alone. Pretty much encapsulates the faith vs science aspect of human life and how they seem opposed but actually do exist in all of us.
Actual Peak Fiction. It moved me
Concerning...or inspirational?
Its especially concerned with branches like epistemology.
Feels like baby's first "deep" anime, if you've only watched a bunch of shounen/shoujo type shows before.
Just finished Rakugo (Descending Stories) a few weeks ago, which shared a similar message about passing on traditions, and the difference was night and day.
Its superbly directly, has very good characters that are gonna hook you instantly.
Has some of the best dialogue you will find in the medium, and despite the topic being about philosophy its very welcoming to anyone.
Its just overall a excellent show.
What? is this even english?
>has very good characters that are gonna hook you instantly.
Mind you, there isn’t anything inherently wrong with just consuming media without actively reflecting on it, the world’s hard enough as is. But I’d imagine that audiences with that mindset would have a different perspective on how Orb communicates its themes than I would
I fucking despise influencer (modern) culture.
I don't really care much for celebrities. Though I do worship Day9 (I have an "Orb" style shrine for that one).
And hey, I like Charlie and his reviews for some movies/series/animes. Watching him suffer almost every week talking about how bad was OPM S3 was something else lol.
Also, Nowak did nothing wrong. Best dad of the 15th century.
