oh hey this got posted quickly

AliceinTeyvatland2026-01-24 17:05

Saizen Tadahisa finally got to have voice lines for this character after like 22 years. The only thing that I can remember that happened in-between this is that one very short line from the Heavens Feel movie, but besides that, he finally got a proper speaking role!

This is also the final episode for those who got into the early screening back in December. So besides the source readers, we are all in the same boat starting the next episode.

za_shiki-warashi2026-01-24 17:12

The situation is also reversed with Gil being the one protecting a little girl.

Frontier2462026-01-24 17:39

And calling it out because that's something only Gil can get away with lol.

sagevallant2026-01-24 19:17

"It's never right unless I decide to do it!" is the core of the character.

deleted-user2026-01-24 17:54

To me the dynamic of the fight was reminiscent to Gil vs Saber vs Berserker in Zero.

JustARedditAccoumt2026-01-24 17:28

>Saizen Tadahisa finally got to have voice lines for this character after like 22 years. The only thing that I can remember that happened in-between this is that one very short line from the Heavens Feel movie, but besides that, he finally got a proper speaking role!

Hey, he had one line in Fate/stay night (2006) as well!

Frontier2462026-01-24 17:39

I feel the nostalgia!

za_shiki-warashi2026-01-24 17:07

Of course the glowie summoned a spook.

[New character's True Name] >!Hippolyta's!< anime design makes her look even more like Artoria.

Everyone else busy is fighting, meanwhile Saber is just off joining a rock band.

bakato2026-01-24 17:16

I'm pretty sure she's supposed to be a saberface.

SpaceOdysseus232026-01-24 17:19

She's not, but there is a reason why she has a Saber-bun

JustARedditAccoumt2026-01-24 17:27

She's actually not supposed to be a Saber-face, funnily enough. She just has a similar hairstyle.

sagevallant2026-01-24 17:40

We're not done summoning Servants until someone looks like Artoria.

ExcelziorZenith2026-01-24 18:04

Well even if nobody has her face at least somebody has her sword (technically).

Constellar-A2026-01-24 18:23

Per the author's afterword in the novel volume where she was introduced, she's actually explicitly not a Saberface, just "Saberhair".

Her name yes, but she was interrupted when trying to speak his name. In fact she wasn't even speaking his name directly, just it's meaning.

the_3rdist2026-01-24 17:35

I don't mind then making it more direct for anime onlyies tbh. There's exposition that works well in text and expositions that don't well in animation.

AliceinTeyvatland2026-01-24 17:59

Yeah, I've said this in like previous discussions too, that they're actually doing a good job on removing stuff that can be explained through small movements and mannerism, they're not doing the anime thing where everything needs to be spoonfed to the viewers.

Frontier2462026-01-24 17:36

>Edit: Also I love how competent she's been. She's clearly outgunned hard by Gil and TA but still kept her cool.

An Amazon never cracks under pressure.

It really is Fate after all.

Is this show like a standalone anime or do I need to watch something else to understand what’s going on. Lot of Anime with the same ish name. Fate whatever.

ball_throwerAFK2026-01-24 17:23

Recommend watching Fate zero atleast. A bunch of references that you would enjoy a lot more if you’ve seen it

blakraven662026-01-24 17:24

Standalone but makes a lot of references to the other shows. More of a fan service thing than actually important though.

getterburner2026-01-24 17:26

As a big Nasuverse fan, you can’t fully prepare for this with JUST the animes due to how much strange Fake plays on the verse and everything.

I think rather than worrying about watch order too much it’s best to just see if this is something you’re into and understand what ya can from the plot and themes since the anime is explicitly moreso focused on the fights than the story story part of the adaptation (they directly mentioned this in one of their interviews).

If you seem to be really intrigued about this world and its characters, ya can start doing your homework with the VNs and stuff like that. But I wouldn’t really stress about it and just enjoy it for what it is I think if you’re not into that idea.

ali941272026-01-24 17:30

This is part of the Fate series, which is also part of the Nasuverse, which includes a bunch of different series. This entry in particular makes a ton of references to other works in the franchise, but they're mostly like comic book movie easter egg level. Fate/Zero at the bare minimum is a good start, but Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works (the ufotable series; there was a prior movie adaptation that's extremely rushed) and Fate/Stay Night: Heaven's Feel (a trilogy of movies by ufotable) would be recommended. There are a lot of other spin-offs. Strange Fake chronologically takes place after Fate/Zero and Stay Night, and is a pseudo-sequel in a few ways.

JustARedditAccoumt2026-01-24 17:32

Most Fate series are standalone entries in their own timelines, and Fate/strange Fake is like that too (for the most part).

However, I'd recommend going through Fate/stay night (2006), Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works (2014), the Fate/stay night: Heaven's Feel movies, and Fate/Zero, in that order, first because they help lay the foundation for the franchise and how you understand it, and because Fate/strange Fake utilizes plot points and even characters from them.

Though, if you want to jump straight into Fate/strange Fake, you can if you want, I guess (most important references are fairly well explained, usually).

Stabaobs2026-01-24 17:33

You just need to watch Fate/strange Fake Whispers of Dawn before episode 1.

Skytengri2026-01-24 17:40

Fate strange fake is basically a Fate fanfic by Ryougo Narita. Take that as you will for an answer

TheDestroyer6302026-01-24 17:20

I still have to watch this episode, but from the last I have a big question. If the blonde girl doesn't want to be a master in this hgw, why doesn't she just go to the curch and give away her command seals? I hope this episode explains it

JustARedditAccoumt2026-01-24 17:33

She doesn't seem to know anything about the Holy Grail War, so I doubt she knows that the Church can shelter her.

MokonaModokiES2026-01-24 18:00

also as said in previous episode by Jester. The church wasnt suppossed to be involved with this war. It just got leaked and Hansa was send to keep an eye on it.

so it might not even be an option if the church isnt really properly managing things.

Frontier2462026-01-24 17:40

I was under the impression she was told (or possessed?) into coming there and Ayaka is trying to figure that out.

Mami-kouga2026-01-24 17:42

Her command spells have already stated to not be normal (everyone has called them fake tattoos) despite her being connected to Richard, she also is a complete newb who was thrown into it and has no idea what's going on.

getterburner2026-01-24 18:00

The Tattoos she has aren’t Command Spells, they’re just similar looking markings she has that the cast observe have similar properties (like granting Ayaka a Magical Pathway to Saber).

Anyway, it’s just that she doesn’t know anything about anything. Ayaka is trying her best to get away from everything and trying to not associate with the war whatsoever. As far as Ayaka is concerned, nothing about this involves her and she just wants to go home.

ConfidenceSouth29932026-01-24 17:22

Ahh Avengers, my favorite class frfr

WhoiusBarrel2026-01-24 17:41

Kinda crazy the last Avenger seen in a non-spin-off/gag Fate series was Gorgon in Babylonia.

ConfidenceSouth29932026-01-24 17:44

Yeah, more extra classes in future fate animes would be cool honestly. (Lostbelts when)

Miteigi742026-01-24 18:04

WhoiusBarrel2026-01-24 18:10

Miteigi742026-01-24 18:04

JustARedditAccoumt2026-01-24 17:35

Him vs Karna would actually be a pretty cool fight.

Miteigi742026-01-24 17:43

It is. While Alcides has the versatility. Karna has the literal firepower and better defense. Alcides pelt won't work either as the guy is full-on divine made loads. Plus with how much appearance he's had in Extra verse and especially in FGO he became like the standard on how the Top Servants even on just the cqc and skills should be.

And while he may not be Herc anymore and Alcides is basically an Alter of him, he's still on the Top Servant tiers given otherwise, he won't be so confident on challenging Gil and Gil clarifying that a Demi-God and Queen of the Amazons like Hippolyta (with the feats we saw this episode) is not even on the level as Alcides.

SpaceOdysseus232026-01-24 17:43

Inserting a random scene with Richard playing the session and transitioning it as the battle OST for the 3-way battle was fucking hilarious and cool as hell.

Never seen that degree of anger from Gilgamesh when Enkidu was being mimicked by that illusionist, might even be scarier when his just shouting in rage blindly with how his face blackens.

Frontier2462026-01-24 17:34

Feels like Ayaka and Saber are in their own culture shock romcom while all the actual fighting is going on.

za_shiki-warashi2026-01-24 17:43

Frontier2462026-01-24 17:34

I love how we can call this the Fate anime where Wonder Woman's mom shows up.

bakato2026-01-24 17:26

Fake Archer vs True Archer. How the tables have turned on Gilgamesh. We finally get to see Heracles summoned as an archer and damn is he so much stronger. The Einzberns were idiots for wasting him as a berserker. For the people who created the grail war and fought multiple of them, they have zero understanding of what makes a servant strong.

I said this before, but I love how this Fate series is finally leaning hard into comedy unlike its predecessors, excluding FGO. Chief's reactions are always priceless.

Frontier2462026-01-24 17:41

Francesca: "I'm a Master too!"

Orlando: "What kind of Holy Grail War are we running here?!"

za_shiki-warashi2026-01-24 17:52

> Fate series is finally leaning hard into comedy unlike its predecessors

That's more on ufotable, presumably to maintain the same tone as FZ.

FSN VN has goofy moments, notably in the early parts of the chapters' SoL scenes and Taiga is around. Hollow Ataraxia also has a lot of comedy scenes. Really, Nasu actually likes dropping comedic moments in his writing (how else do you think we get the long running meme among fans about how jokes are the deepest lore?). For anime, Apocrypha has Astolfo being Astolfo. There's also Prisma, but that's like an entirely different ball game.

Wei8282026-01-24 17:58

Francesca actually roasts the Einzbern for this but it was cut. They fail and then hard pivot to the extremes. Artoria didn't work out? Summon Herc as a mindless stat stick.

134_ranger_NK2026-01-24 18:04

The Einzberns really missed out on Heracles' skills and tactical mind as a non-Berserker. Even with the possibility of Heracles going behind their backs of Illya will not die on his watch, his skills are something else.

Wei8282026-01-24 18:21

Yeah sealing his best offensive Noble Phantasm for stats is idiotic especially when he would have great stats either way.

keybladesrus2026-01-24 18:30

I get what they were going for. Herc is generally known for his strength, so giving him a class that enhances that strength even further sounds like a good idea if you don't think about it too hard. The Einzberns fucking love ideas that sound good on paper and screwing themselves over in the execution.

AdWide46902026-01-24 18:35

>I love how this Fate series is finally leaning hard into comedy unlike its predecessors, excluding FGO

It's more of an anime adaptation problem to be honest. FSN has lots of goofy moments in the VN but most of them were cut out by Ufotable.

As for Zero, well, it always had that serious atmosphere. Apocrypha as well but on a much lesser extent.

At least Extra: Last Encore managed to keep it light with Nero but nobody talks about that show so let's leave it at that.

Oh and Kaleid exists but.....yeah.

thisisdropd2026-01-24 17:27

While Alcides, Gil, and Hippolyta were engaged in a fierce three way battle, Ayaka & Richard were busy jamming in an underground venue lmao.

When Richard agreed that he should only reveal his name to a worthy master, figured he'd immediately blab it to Ayaka herself. Poor girl wanted none of the war but got roped into it anyways.

Frontier2462026-01-24 17:41

Ayaka wants no part in being in a Fate anime or a possible Shojo-esque romance with Saber/Richard but he's not going to quit on her lol.

elevenmile2026-01-24 17:28

Richard would be best buddies with Astolfo just for the fact that both are truly cuckoos.

And after this episode, I'll refer to Hippolyta as "Red Gudako" (because both have the same seiyuu)

Prince-Dizzytoon2026-01-24 17:29

Archer Herc drank a little too much grail mud that he doesn't even go by his name anymore

Frontier2462026-01-24 17:35

He had to channel all that anger into something when he's not a Berserker.

keybladesrus2026-01-24 18:36

I don't even know what other Servants you would need for a Grail War with a properly summoned Herc with his full kit to not be completely one-sided. Even in his non-ideal summonings, he's a powerful presence.

Constellar-A2026-01-24 19:37

The Fate/Apocrypha art book has an aside about how when a Grail War was going to be held in Greece all the Masters killed each other fighting over the catalyst to summon Heracles. Everyone died before a single Servant was even summoned.

Villag3Idiot2026-01-24 20:08

IIRC, in Fate/Apocryha's backstory, Heracles can no longer be target summoned in that world because everyone kept summoning him in previous wars to the point where they exhausted all of his known catalysts.

Cross_Toss2026-01-24 20:41

Than when everyone decided to agree on not summoning Herc, the same thing happened with Achilles.

Greece too strong.

LeloThePGG2026-01-24 22:08

I still laugh at the fact that, in the Apocrypha world, HGWs in Greece are just a series of banlist updates one after another

moonmeh2026-01-24 18:52

Tbh you can't have Archer Herc summoned and doing whatever he's doing right now

He's too... heroic

Keanotaku_Returns2026-01-24 21:40

To be fair, Alcides is his actual birth name before he became a renowned hero and was just a guy, his name only became Heracles because of his heroic accomplishments later in life; it seems like he is rejecting the name Heracles now because the name is related to the goddess Hera and he wants revenge on the gods.

Tora-shinai2026-01-24 17:30

Of course there's a Saberface cuz Grey wasn't enough.

Frontier2462026-01-24 17:33

Nice recap of Faldeous' deal, Caster! And now Faldeous has more Servants in this Holy Grail War to serve his ends...as well as his own, some spectral, ghostly, presence there to enact his conviction in reality. Welcome to being a Master, Faldeous.

At least Francesca is having a good time, no matter how much it irritates Orlando. But don't be fooled by her bubbly demeanor and flashy outfit, that's not her real body (just one she's been using for three years) and she's got a giant monstrous jaw where her torso should be.

Gilgamesh Archer vs TRUE Archer! This Archer is a Dmigod who has turned against the Gods and battles without honor or nobility to fulfill his desire for revenge. Maybe we should call him an "Avenger" instead. But to Gil, he's just a poor imitation of an Archer Class who thinks he can kill Gilgamesh' master...only Gilgamesh gets to do that! And this guy isn't going to get Ea to come out until he proves himself worthy!

Of course doing damage to True Archer is easier said than done, especially when he can deflect with his bow or with the demonic cloak he wears around his person.

But this isn't just a one-on-one duel...at least not when True Rider (I assume, even though she also fights with a bow and arrow) comes in with an uppercut and a massive beef with True Archer. Then again, considering he killed her and has apparently gone back on everything she respected about him, I don't blame her. And with her trust steed Faldion she'll jump across debris to battle and defeat her enemies with honor and grace. Also, a crotch shot.

While all this fighting is going on...Ayaka and Saber are chilling at a music club, getting mistaken for a couple, Saber gets new chic casual outfit, and joins a band. Our main characters, everybody!

On the one hand, True Rider has valid points about targetting a child. On the other hand, Tine is definitely not getting taken seriously as a master when considered a child.

Oh, did we mention Francesca is a Master too? Orlando definitely didn't know that. And her Servant is as playful and prone to trolling as she is (is that the silver-haired boy in the OP?). I wonder if he's True Caster? I mean, he was able to teleport everyone to a snowy landscape and also create an illusion of Enkidu. Gilgamesh was NOT amused.

Seems like True Rider is willing to defer to her Master and retreat, though not without calling out True Archer for how far he's fallen in rejecting himself and his Gods...what happened to you Heracles? Or Alcides? But that must make True Rider...HIPPOLYTA, QUEEN OF THE AMAZONS!!!

Well, it's nice to see Saber and Ayaka kind of opening up to each other. Saber doesn't even need the Holy Grail, the most he can think to do is give it to Artoria if he had it. But he CAN show Ayaka the people he's been talking to, since he has the ability to converse with and use the skills of spirits who have pledged themselves to him...like Pierre Basille, the very man that killed him. Because whether Ayaka wants to know or not, she's got KING RICHARD LIONHEART BY HER SIDE!

Sly__Marbo2026-01-24 18:01

Oh, you'll see Francesca's servant soon enough. The identity will be pretty unsurprising

deleted-user2026-01-24 18:06

Not to mention Francesca's servant calling him AUO and conjuring up an Enkidu illusion.

goffer542026-01-24 19:25

Everyone in FSN: who is that mysterious servant? It's impossible to tell

Everyone in FSF immediately upon being summon: Oh, Gilgamesh is here, I see.

Lysandren2026-01-24 20:26

The Greeks would have more than a passing familiarity with Gilgamesh, as the Babylonian pantheon was still being worshipped during the time period they were alive.

Skawt242026-01-24 20:30

to be fair in universe he was present for the last 2 grail wars, would be weird if mages didn't recognize him on sight.

TheMorrison772026-01-24 21:41

In Kara no Kyoukai they confirm there is a sort of "Dark Amazon" going around selling magical goods and other materials.

It wouldnt be a stretch to think there is some footage of the previous Grail Wars going around there.

AdWide46902026-01-24 17:41

Faldeus, I think you and your secret government organization might wanna reevaluate if you're still in control of this Holy Grail War...

Well that, or Francesca simply got you too well.

Frontier2462026-01-24 17:45

Faldeus: "Everything is going exactly as planned!"

(Everything proceeds to go off the rails in spectacular fashion)

Faldeus: "This is all part of the plan! Clearly!"

Ebo872026-01-24 18:05

Oh boy, they really have no idea what they're doing, aye?

Archensix2026-01-24 19:32

It's so realistic

Ebo872026-01-24 19:42

Oh yes, 100%, people who are supposed to be in charge having no idea what they're getting themselves into is very much the most realistic part so far in this show, lol.

emeraldwolf342026-01-24 18:58

It's especially funny since the directors told Junya Enoki that he was making Faldeus sound too competent and he should sound more in over his head, since Faldeus is supposed to be an incompetent mastermind.

BosuW2026-01-24 19:16

Honestly I think I like the idea of him being pretty competent but the situation is way beyond what mere competency can control

Cross_Toss2026-01-24 19:51

That's how I interpreted him in the LNs - he makes all the right moves with the info he has, but he always overestimates how much info he has.

emeraldwolf342026-01-24 20:14

You even see it last episode: Acts according to what all of his info tells him, summons a servant, and nothing appears so he reports a failure and takes the natural conclusion from that. He just didn't think his servant wouldn't appear physically. He makes all the right moves, he's just thrown so many curveballs.

Honestly, he would probably be fine in a normal grail war. He's probably studied the previous ones to notice the patterns and such. This war is exceptionally bonkers.

Ur--father2026-01-24 18:29

If not for the friendly cyborg priest, they would have already lost one master. They’ve long lost control of the situation. Everything beyond this point is just elaborate coping.

sagevallant2026-01-24 19:08

"Sir, I am starting to question the plan."

LunarGhost002026-01-24 19:49

AdWide46902026-01-24 20:12

Francesca is always one step ahead of everyone because she welcomes literally anything that happens in this war. Seeking that thrill for the love of the game.

Al-Pharazon2026-01-24 17:42

Heracles in Unlimited Blade Works [UBW]>!fought for who knows how long and was killed 12 times by Gilgamesh, but when the later blinded Illya Herc willed himself back to life and rushed at Gilgamesh one more time, all to protect a child!<

That is the kind of hero he is and that is why Hippolyta here was so surprised. What Alcides did here by targeting Tine, a literal child unlike Illya, was the polar opposite of everything he stood for as the greatest hero of Greek history.

Been waiting YEARS to see True Rider animated and the wait paid off so much. I know she may fly a bit under the radar compared to some of the powerhouses in this HGW but do Not underestimate her.

Really liked the VA they picked for her as well.

MartaDream0012026-01-24 17:54

Imagine being Gilagamesh, opening a full Gate of Babylon barrage... and the new Archer just parries **it like it's drizzle**
Then you get clocked by a demigod and the episode still finds time to add another Servant like a surprise DLC drop. Absolute chaos

emeraldwolf342026-01-24 17:54

Honestly I love not only the acoustic rendition of FSF-Saber during Saber and Ayaka's scene, but that slow pan over the two empty glasses... As Saber, or rather Richard now that it's revealed, stated, he isn't even sure of his wish or reason for being summoned. He's trying to figure that out too, just as Ayaka is struggling to find out why she's in Snowfield. Both of them are empty glasses waiting to be filled, basically. Point being, both are going to have to figure out how to fill themselves together, and that's some growth I love seeing.

AdWide46902026-01-24 17:58

Strange Fake is so funny because you got these powerhouses battling themselves to death and by the next second you see a Servant just simply vibing with a band.

pietya2026-01-24 17:58

Ayaka: I am not worthy to hear your name.

Saber: Who decided that? I am Richard, Duke of Normandy, sovereign of England, you may know me by my sobriquet: Lionheart.

though after watching "The Lion in Winter" the other night I can't not picture Anthony Hopkins as this Richard lol

AceSoldia2026-01-24 18:00

Man listen .. I love having a new Fate that I can't guess anything..it's such a wild show..no idea what's happening ...these servants are amazing .the animation is top tier..just so peak.

What a season of anime we are seeing.

Shinigami_222026-01-24 18:03

So all the servants revealed so far are:

True Holy Grail War Servants:

**Saber**: Richard I or Richard of Lionheart (Ayaka's Servant)

**Archer**(Avenger?) - Alcides(he hates the gods because Hera drove him to madness, making him kill his family) (Master Unknown)

**Lancer** \- ???

**Caster** \- ??? (Francesca's servant, sounds like a young boy)

**Rider** \- Hippolyta (Queen of the Amazons, killed by Alcides) (Master Unknown)

**Assassin** \- Looks like an even scarier hassan (Faldeus' Servant)

**Berserker** \- ???

Fake Holy Grail War Servants:

**Archer:** Gilgamesh (Tiné Chelc's Servant)

**Lancer**: Enkidu (White Wolf's Servant)

**Rider**: ???

**Assassin:** Female Hassan (Jester Karture's Servant)

**Caster:** ??? (Orlando's servant)

**Berserker:** Jack the Ripper (Flat's Servant)

**Random Thoughts:**

So Hippolyta was killed by Alcides, and penthesilea replaced her as the new amazon queen who was killed by Achilles. Would have been nice if the true berserker is penthesilea and the rider is achilles just to see their interaction lol.

MokonaModokiES2026-01-24 18:23

that would be too much greek tbh. Better keep more variety.

so far 2 greeks, 2 mesopotamic, 2 Persian, 1 British(Maybe 2 if we count Fake Caster's teeth, he got the british smile)

Shinigami_222026-01-24 18:27

might even be 3 british since Jack the ripper is right there.

kingfirejet2026-01-24 19:02

We need some French up in here lol

Exrotes2026-01-24 19:23

IRL Richard didn't even speak english lol, dude was a Frenchman through and through.

JustARedditAccoumt2026-01-24 20:50

He actually mentions that one of the only things in life he couldn't master was English, ironically.

AruarianJazz2026-01-24 18:28

I think Fake Rider is the young girl’s servant who was in the hospital, the black ghost

Lysandren2026-01-24 20:21

That is correct. True rider being Hippolyta. You can tell bc the black ghost was summoned first, and the fake servants are the original 6. This also makes Enkidu false lancer.

EvacionSaraak2026-01-24 18:46

They mentioned in the episode that the initial six summoned were to act as primers to essentially jumpstart another war because they were working on a flawed design. If Saber was the first to be summoned (as Waver also speculated) then isn't he the True Saber? Every servant summoned after Saber should be part of the True Holy Grail War, because they needed those fake ones to jumpstart a real one.

JustARedditAccoumt2026-01-24 20:52

Yes, he is the true Saber.

raveno192026-01-24 18:50

Fake rider is the shadow in the young girl room, that is the last one for last slot.

nikobans2026-01-24 18:03

Ah even after all these years, Richard and Ayaka are so cute, I was kicking my feet watching that last scene. Also he's totally your boyfriend~~ Just give it a day or two, don't worry don't worry

And there comes two of our demigods, the faux saberface (as explicitly stated by Narita) Hippolyta and the now actually talkative Hera- I mean Alciedes! It was fun seeing all three of them weave attacks against eachother.

Meanwhile today is a stressful day for every overseerer not named Francesca lol, Faildeus summoning a scary ass servant and Orlando seeing every single preparation he had crumble before his very eyes, maybe they should have put stomach medicine in the budget.

LeonKevlar2026-01-24 18:08

* [Alcides/Heracles](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/bf16678649ee.jpg)

[So Faldeus summoned a Hassan?](https://i.imgur.com/JEr4MaW.jpeg) Which one did he summon, tho? There are so many of them that this is probably a new one. Also, we learn that Faldeus is related to someone who participated in the 3rd Fuyuki HGW. I don't think there's a lot of info about the 3rd Fuyuki HGW, so this doesn't really tell me much.

[Jesus fucking christ, Francesca.](https://i.imgur.com/1uLG3nX.jpeg) You can't just randomly flash your guts to a guy. What if someone walks in? That would be a bad look for Snowfield's Police Chief. xD

[Gil setting up an auto-defender just in case Enkidu decided to play a prank on him](https://i.imgur.com/mXOieA3.jpeg) was pretty funny. He looks so disappointed when he realizes it wasn't Enkidu who attacked him. Also, [the fact that Gil pulled out Vimana](https://i.imgur.com/B3DzOPO.jpeg) really makes me hope for an aerial battle in the future, ala Fate/Zero.

[A Red Archer antagonizing Gilgamesh?](https://i.imgur.com/tBjldW0.jpeg) That's nothing new. But seriously tho, seeing Herc in this form is so cool. I do love that he's still voiced by Saizen Tadahisa, which means this is what Herc would sound like if he were not going crazy under a Berserker's Madness Enchantment.

I kinda love how overprotective Gilgamesh is of Tine. [The dude is genuinely upset](https://i.imgur.com/uq7ay4G.jpeg) after Herc tried to attack Tine. Kinda hilarious considering the events of UBW. The shoe is now on the other foot, I suppose. xD

[Hippolyta finally shows up](https://i.imgur.com/iTcuTK9.jpeg) and now we have a three-way battle! Man, I am so happy they've already revealed their true names this episode. It's kinda hard to talk about these characters if we refer to them by class, because I'm not even sure what class Herc is supposed to be. Is he an Archer or an Avenger?

Meanwhile, [Enkidu is just chilling with their doggo Master](https://i.imgur.com/jvQ7GQu.jpeg), while [Ayaka and Richard are hanging out at an underground club](https://i.imgur.com/4Fk3YRr.jpeg). I love the idea that Richard is the one playing the battle music for the three in the desert. xD

[Orlando's reaction when he heard that Francesca sent her servant](https://i.imgur.com/aQnyx7w.jpeg) to calm things down was hilarious. Dude knows that things might just escalate because of her. I am curious who her servant is, tho. Who the fuck is ballsy enough to [taunt Gil by copying Enkidu?](https://i.imgur.com/sPbIzXA.jpeg)

[Richard revealing his name to Ayaka was pretty funny.](https://i.imgur.com/KtowkH0.jpeg) For a second there, Ayaka really thought Richard was going to wait for a "worthy" master. Nah, Richard already thinks she's a worthy master.

PhantasosX2026-01-24 18:35

Faldeus Family summoned the Hassan of the 3rd HGW , and thus he followed their tradition and summoned another Hassan.

Another thing is that 3rd HGW had two Sabers summoned by the Edelfelt , and that Darnic was part of it with the n#zi and summoned Lancer Fionn. Einzbern either summoned Avenger or Ruler.

Mind you, all those intels were revealed in Fate/Hollow Ataraxia and Fate/Apocrypha.

towardselysium2026-01-24 19:56

The Third Holy Grail was truly the greatest mistake in universe. Its funny how that seems to be the origin of the multiverse

ErikMaekir2026-01-24 20:17

The third was that one time every single participant decided they were going to cheat, and somehow expected either that nobody else would cheat, or that everything wouldn't go tits up immediately.

SnabDedraterEdave2026-01-24 18:39

>which means this is what Herc would sound like if he were not going crazy under a Berserker's Madness Enchantment

We have heard his voice before. [In episode 16 of the 2006 Deen version, right after]>!Saber and Shirou defeat Berserker, his Madness Enchantment dissipates right before he disappears, and he is able to speak rationally, giving praise to Shirou for summoning Caliburn, a sword powerful enough to kill his remaining 7 lives.!<

Hippolyta's sister Penthesilea is in the FGO mobile game and it's funny because due to the two of them having different designers they look absolutely *nothing* alike. Even their outfits don't look like they came from the same place.

Randuir2026-01-24 19:39

Is it weird that Gil feels like one of the more sympathetic servants for a change? He's still his usual insufferably smug self, but he's also serious about keeping Tine safe, and Tine herself has a decent reason for fighting in the war as well.

Villag3Idiot2026-01-24 20:17

Gil's personality changes depending on the era that he's summoned in along with what particular Gil is summoned (ie: Kid, Tyrant, Wise Ruler).

He's just taking things more seriously in this summon because 1) Tine treats him with actual proper respect and 2) Enkidu's here and they're judging you.

SIRTreehugger2026-01-24 20:38
