I’m just not sure I can stand MHA anymore

I’ll be honest, I’m at about episode 155 and gotta say, this show is so annoying. I’ve watched so many episodes and am so close but am sick of it.. idk. I just feel like this whole thing is being drug out so much more than necessary. Im sick of the constant hero’s get a single step forward and oh no all for one erases all the progress. Guess im just annoyed. It’s taken me 18 months to get to this point and im just… blah. Anyways… I’ll get off my soap box now.

The discussion is about the show feeling cyclical and dragged out. You can agree or disagree. "Drop it" is such a nothing response because there's zero chance OP hasn't considered that. They're not asking for "solutions to the problem".

I watched it airing so I cant say anything about it dragging on when you watch it in its entirety, there were definitely some lame parts in the middle, but it picks up again.

The recent final season was definitely pretty good.

I dont remember it beeing that bad, the final arc is definitely kinda like that but there is also a lot going on at the same time so its fair.

Its hit and miss, some episodes feel very slow and cliffhangery, others are genuinely really good.

I didn’t enjoyed some of the middle season but on the whole it was a good ride, in an age where all the new shonen are going the dark edgey route like JJK and CSM ect it was at least doing its distinctive thing.

It’s good to vent in here about it either way, I am curious in the next show you and your partner will be partaking in I hope it work sour for you better than this one.

Ya, I’ve heard great things so I’m definitely looking forward to it. You never know though. I will say MHA has to be one of my least favorite anime. It’s up there for me with Hunter x Hunter. I know both are popular but just blah for me.

Oh we’ve watched well over a hundred. Always open to recs though. We’ve watched most of the big name common ones so hidden ones would be sweet. Ya deku and tanjiro are two who annoy me to no end lol

Yeh in hindsight that's probably wise, Prison School would be enacting some sweet vengeance for a 150 Ep+ grind-fest though lol

And regarding Link Click, the premise is about time travelling back into past photographs - a great sci-fi mystery thriller. Best part is how you're thrown into action right from the off (none of the usual introductory slow-burner vibes).

I think the milking/dragging started when All Might gave Deku the "evil is looming" speech.

From then on it was just Tomura saying "nuh uh, I didn't lose, I got super regeneration".

And fans defend it, so yeah, that's MHA in a nutshell.

Just in case if you're interested in well paced and written battle shounen, I'd recommend giving "World Trigger" a try. If anything, it's too short.

And if you're open to niche novelty, "Wakfu" is a french battle shounen with two fun seasons. I don't recommend seasons 3 nor 4 though.

MHA peaked with Overhaul imo. Maybe its just me but that felt more fitting as a Deku storyline. All this Shigaraki and All for One shit just feels like an extension of All Might and AfO, which I mean I guess its supposed to.

The last war was boring, just a back and forth of "ultimate moves" being countered by the villains "nah I survived that" until it just sorta ended.

Yeah me too. Every big fight is the same whether if it's in series or movie. I just watched to the end because I have invested a lot of time in the early seasons and wanted to know how it ends. I got so fed up that I can't even watch the fights in the final arc and skipped most of the parts. They are full of flashbacks and made up shits out of nowhere. I even lost my will to watch other animes because of MHA. I loved MHA but it made me so disappointed.
