Hi Intelligent-Bath-230, it seems like you might be looking for new anime to watch!

The users of this subreddit came up with [a chart of anime recommendations for newcomers and veterans](https://i.redd.it/0w1v880jtq661.png) and [an awesome longer flowchart](https://i.redd.it/vdzlkodz19c71.png). Maybe you can find something there that you'll like \^.\^

Turn A Gundam is often described as a Ghibli mecha show.

King_Koragar2026-01-25 07:29

Great recommendation but their preference against action might disincline them to even Turn-A.

ArtiomSnack2026-01-25 07:31

Turn A has notably less action than the rest of the franchise, so I'd say they should at least give it a try.

Future Boy Conan, Anne of Green Gables, and Sherlock Hound were all either directed by or had heavily involvement from Studio Ghibli founders Isao Talahata and Hayao Miyazaki. Also the Ni No Kuni anime for something with a surface-level aesthetic similarity.

Many Ghibli films posess action so idk why you're acting like those aren't present but other recommendations would include Little Witch Acadamia, Keep Your Hands off Eizouken, or (and this one is far-out) Shingu: Secret of the Stellar Wars for some low-key but still fantastical daily life shows.

Intelligent-Bath-2302026-01-25 07:42

i mean action in the sense of like, i’ve tried hunterxhunter, attack on titan, etc and didn’t enjoy. i enjoy the more comfortable low brain activity stuff. thanks for the recommendations.

King_Koragar2026-01-25 16:26

There's also the Slice of Life genre which you might find luck with like Mushi-Shi, Natsume's Book of Friends, or Flying Witch.

Sorry, but that doesn't exist yet. The bar is set really high. Truth.

> real life but also whimsical vibes

Based on this, I want to recommend Tamayura, Aria the Animation, and The Aquatope on White Sands.

Check out stuff from studios covered by Ghiblioteque podcast episodes.

Meanwhile I reckon Denno Coil has a Ghibli feel.
