But to see them make it more than getting giddy over the dokidoki's and handholding would be an interesting if you make both of them likable

[Yes.](https://i.imgur.com/SePioLo.jpeg)
[Dang, now I want to go out with her.](https://i.imgur.com/mJRKYOA.jpeg)
[Yoi wants to make sure this is just not a short term obsession.](https://i.imgur.com/EKgGQwX.jpeg)
Their first date was pretty cute. Our girl was getting real flustered lol. I look forward to more dates so these two can figure out all this “love” business.
>*KI and YT must keep their relationship concealed and not disclose it to any third party.*
She said as their mates were in attendance, and no one had called her out for it.
Respect for Kohaku for not shying away from the topic of sex. Doubt he had any immediate thoughts about shagging Yoi but too many teens in romcoms treated it as a taboo topic.
I feel like Kohaku is game for anything so long as Yoi is.
Well considering Yoi read the contract in front of both her Kohaku's friends, I guess the contract was immediately null and void lol
I enjoyed their date, I think most of the time they have the guy ask, so the role reversal was pretty on brand for Yoi, although it was funny that pretty much neither of them had apparently thought about what they were going to actually \*do\* on said date before they met up. Kohaku looked surprisingly striking with glasses on. Still mildly annoyed by the dad managing to ruin the romance again. Hopefully that doesn't become a running gag every episode.
Yoi: 😳
ISTFG, I thought this was the Culling Games rule expository halp ✋🏾😭
Flip it around Yoi! He’s *yours*. You can have him all to yourself! Reverse the roles!
📢More genderfucky couples, especially androgynous/masc heterogendered couples, thank you📢

This needs a stage play. Been saying this since 2022. I want this to have a stage play so ***badly*** (and hopefully DMM platforms it).
Now, time to wait for Kohaku’s response. Good for Yoi to want to bring this up in the first place. It felt like, for a hot second there, you’d have teen romances where this ambiguity and vague wording was just kinda…forever and a day sorta thing.
So good for Yoi. I don’t think it’s love ***yet***, but I do think it’s interest.

Yoi really thought [that Kohaku was gonna take what he said back](https://i.imgur.com/seh3ZhF.png). I absolutely love [her reaction](https://i.imgur.com/EpovYX4.png) when Kohaku responded by [asking her how far they can take this.](https://i.imgur.com/g3u03XB.png)
[I'm really starting to like Yoi and Kohaku's friends.](https://i.imgur.com/bSkFmOC.png) I hope we see them hang out together as a group in the future. I feel like there's a potential here for sideships.
I genuinely started laughing [when Yoi started to read the contract she wrote](https://i.imgur.com/7XGfJq3.png) to lay down the terms of their relationship. [This might be one of the strangest ways I've seen two people get together](https://i.imgur.com/z9V4hLS.png) in anime. xD
Their weekend date was pretty cute! [I wish they went around with the matching outfits](https://i.imgur.com/UeqcDbh.png), but I feel like that would've gotten them too much attention.
I like that we get to learn [that Yoi-chan has a massive sweet tooth](https://i.imgur.com/8BjiWNW.jpeg) and [she takes sweets very seriously.](https://i.imgur.com/hDSGcjf.png) I also like that we get to learn [more about Kohaku and how this date was a first for him](https://i.imgur.com/YHt8YAO.png), since most of the time he just goes along with whatever the other person decides for him.
[Papa Takiguchi finally gets to learn his daughter has a boyfriend!](https://i.imgur.com/a2VFZZC.png) Of course, the first thing he does is embarrass her. xD
[Welp, so much for having a good date.](https://i.imgur.com/lObrlVG.png) Kohaku really ruined that entire evening with his response. Although I think Kohaku is the kind of person who's never really been in love before, so that's the best he can come up with. [He didn't even realize why Yoi was upset with his response.](https://i.imgur.com/ok3AZLM.pngv)
Both friend groups just watching the contract scene and eating it up even despite the surreal nature of it lol.
I feel like they would have been swamped on the streets if they walked out looking as hot as they do in their outfits.
Papa Takiguchi the one romance dad who is all in on his daughters' relationship whether she wants him to be or not lol.
Both their friends were hilarious! They’re the type to be eating popcorn as the fun unfolds in front of them.
And I love her dad. TsudaKen is killing it.
The girls from Polar Opposites have great taste - he's the great in every role he is in
I don't see credits being a set like that very much, pretty sweet.
They also did [Blood Blockade Battlefront](https://myanimelist.net/anime/24439/Kekkai_Sensen)'s [first ED](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=j3SlUmr_T4g) which was quite popular and inspired [The Daily Life of the Immortal King](https://myanimelist.net/anime/41094/Xian_Wang_de_Richang_Shenghuo)'s [newest ED](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=lUdXF7NR-6g) which is also airing this season.
And of course her gal pals are all in on it...and then Kohaku's friend group (Shun and Sentaro) and Yoi's (Nobara and Kotobuki) come together to watch these two really make it official. And by official, I mean Yoi straight up having a contract for how this trial relationship is going to work so they know what to expect going in. Thus begins a battle of romantic intentions!
Yoi might very well be a real first and someone special to Kohaku because he's never really desired someone before...and that's why he can't seem to help himself around her.
I love how women see Yoi, comment on how handsome she is, and then still comment on her being hot even after realizing she's a girl.
Look at Yoi directly asking him out for a weekend date! Even if she shows up in her school uniform. But that's the perfect excuse for them to go clothes shopping and looking like an even more handsome couple than they already are!
The only thing sweeter than Yoi's sweet tooth is Kohaku's winning smile.
Is there anything better than the ambience of being on an amusement park ride at night near closing time? Especially when Kohaku is expressing how being with Yoi is just a series of firsts for him...being invested in this relationship, going with the flow and doing things HE wants to do, and just really having a good time. And Yoi can't help but be moved by that and his silhouette in the night.
You know you're hooked when you don't want the date to end and were THIS close to sharing some gyoza together before work/family obligations got in the way. Though it was the perfect/worst opportunity for Kohaku to tell her dad that they're a couple now and the dad is ALL in on that whether Yoi likes it or not. She's also not super into the idea that Kohaku wants the right to see her face all the time...but she does have such a nice face.
Yoi's gal pals can tell that Yoi enjoyed this date and being with Kohaku more than she's willing to admit, but it feels like a big hurdle in this relationship is how Yoi is concerned about "love" and how Kohaku feels about her.
The entire comment section was filled with women saying they hate (jokingly) how they barely cried and disliked physical touch before now became soft after dating/marrying their bf/husband.
Basically Yoi.
We’re all right there with ya, Dad. He’s an interesting one.
Oh so they really are going out now.
Ok... What's with the contract?
Well, good to draw boundaries at least.
And so they do indeed have some alone time together.
And so they're going to walk home together.
Or not.
He would indeed.
Oh, she messaged him.
Perhaps. But punctuality is a good thing.
Ok... Fair enough _he_ certainly didn't exactly care about what he wore either, a t-shirt and long pants feel like the first thing in his closet that don't look _too_ bad.
And so off they go to look at clothes.
Well, guess they didn't end up buying anything anyways.
Huh. Did she find something she wants?
So, confectioneries.
Idk I kinda _like_ having the bits of bean in it. Red bean is somewhat unique, might as well accentuate the unique factor of the fact it's beans.
Why the amusement park at night?
Yep those clothes are _definitely_ the first thing in his closet that didn't look _completely_ like shit.
Well, I guess they've got their plan for dinner.
Or not.
Well, maybe not the way she had _hoped_ to introduce him to her parents...
Uh... That definitely makes him sound like a creep lol.
And so he snatched her into an empty classroom.
Ok...
The date was nice to watch, Kohaku is really showing more of himself to her and I like that she's wanting to spend more time with him. I do like that Kohaku matched her look and didn't have her dress up in a more girly outfit, it's been clear that he likes her as a Prince, but when they went to the clothes shop I did think we'd see a variety of outfits.
Yoi's father being so excited about her finally get a boyfriend was cute. I do hope Kohaku gets an opportunity to be clearer on what he likes about Yoi. I mostly understand what he was trying to say but Yoi is too serious and will take his words as is.

- [Oh, and he *actually* answered the “Why did you choose to date Yoi?” question.](https://i.imgur.com/1ePo1qj.png) [](#trololol)
Find a man who can appreciate his girlfriend looking as impossibly handsome as Yoi does.
Good choice on the clothing to try on, between that and Kohaku wanting to date Yoi to look at her you can tell he's very cultured. "I want to look at you, specifically in this fancy shirt and slacks."
Shame Kohaku kind of fucked up the end of the date as eating dinner at Yoi's family restaurant would have been a nice way to finish it. Dad called her in to work but I'm sure that would have gone out the window if he knew about the date and could serve them dinner as part of it.
• She says she doesn’t want to be touched; he touches and grabs her anyway. He apologizes occasionally, but repeats. And we get lots of heart flutters from her about it. Hella mixed message.
• At the same time, she seems to have never thought about dating, or what sort of guy she might like. If she were aroace, that’s one thing - but she’s clearly not immune to the aesthetic appeal of ikemen.
• She’s shy enough around sex to be a “good girl”, and she can assert herself, but she also seems wander around in a perpetual haze of “I don’t know what I want, I don’t know what I like, I like it when you take advantage of my confusion, but I also dislike it when you take advantage of my confusion”. Girl has no internal lane; her character doesn’t feel real to me. And I guess neither does he.
I can’t help but contrast this with the very deft characterization of Polar Opposites, and even more so for Journal with Witch. I feel like I know those characters, that they react realistically, and they are true to themselves. This show’s people, by contrast, feel hollow where they need to feel full - and that’s disappointing.
Here I could somewhat accept and understand her mixed feelings as realistic, because it's SOMEHOW the first boy who ever showed interest in her, but she was also getting frustrating by this episode... It's just the male lead who should know better attracted all my attention, plus I see his archetype too often. The kind that has the worst traits of masculinity being glorified for a female audience.
And man, I'm still bothered by all the girls mistaking the model beautiful Yoi for a guy, even when she's wearing a skirt. I'll get over it. At least when they try out clothes you can kinda see it when she has a more masculine fit on. They have good chemistry too, and that carries the show. I really liked the reflective talk they had on the amusement park ride. I was feeling a "kiss" coming, but nope. And then dad had to spoil the mood... and Ichimura with the comically bad answer to his question lol. The episode ends with Yoi confronting him with his focus on her looks over everything else. I think he is just focusing on that for now, since it is what caught his attention and he is not really a shallow person. We shall see next week how he takes it. Fun episode.
They are honestly both so dorky. Like ichimura is so funny
Yoi wanted to stay w him longer!
Dang she is asking him the right questions tho
"Hey that guy is hot"
"but they're wearing a skirt"
"she's really hot!"
"What do you like about me besides my looks?"
\*sweats profusely\*\*
From the amount of contracts that come up in Japan's anime and dramas you'd feel like it's super common.
Date! T'was cute! And stylish.
What is love? Baby don't hurt, don't hurt me, no more!
In short: I liked this episode less. It lacks cohesion.
Visuals: I have mixed feelings. Some drawings are nice. Some details are well highlighted, like the backgrounds... but when it comes to the characters, it's very inconsistent... even too inconsistent. I'm not always convinced by the linework, the proportions... it's common in anime for a distant view to be somewhat underdeveloped... that it just lets us understand who it is and our brain fills in the blanks... but some of these distant views are really not good... The focus and work are mainly on the faces and eyes... however, sometimes, for the bodies, it's like a t-shirt on a hanger (like a flat image), which doesn't give her a good silhouette, nor fluidity in her movements. Likewise, for trousers that are often wide baggy or jogging... it's not very attractive. This is all the more glaring because, alongside this, there are scenes where, conversely, the drawing is refined, like in the shop, where the silhouettes and the drape of the clothes are well-rendered... so I'm even more aware of when things go wrong. There's still a slight lack of definition at times in Kohaku's facial features and hair, compared to Yoi's. It remains inconsistent.
The visually appealing element of the episode is the carousel. We see the return of lighting effects that were present in the first episode but absent from the second... like the metallic glare and backlighting. Streetlights, fairy lights, a range of colors... but I keep coming back to the drawing of the main characters, which is inconsistent and, for me, spoils the overall effect.
Still on the subject of visuals, we're getting more and more new effects and interludes... Bullseye effect, blurring, flames, bubbles when Yoi shows off her "girly" side, "rabbit" backgrounds for Kohaku, "dog" backgrounds for her father... it's always fun, but hopefully there won't be too many of them because even if they bring a smile, they shouldn't interrupt important moments too often, where the story could really progress. I'm happy if we keep the "rabbits" for Kohaku \^\^... maybe they're the series' animal, instead of the usual "cats"? In any case, there were "rabbit" cakes in the shop, too.
Story: I didn't connect with this episode. There's a lack of continuity, of links and connections between the scenes. It feels like a series of sketches.
Last week, several people commented that they were looking forward to seeing Yoi talk with her two friends, from naptime to the infirmary... and here, nothing. No flashbacks, no developing thoughts... The same goes for when Yoi invites Kohaku; we go straight from the text message to the date. I would have liked to see her agonize over choosing clothes and panic rather than just seeing a mini-animation that summarizes everything. It lacks development. They should slow it down to allow us to enjoy it more and connect with the characters.
If we follow the scenes more or less, Kohaku only said he was joking about the date proposal because he thought Yoi would say no, and Yoi said yes simply because she thought he'd back out. They're always way off base when they imagine each other's thoughts and reactions, and as long as they act based on what they imagine and not what they truly want, the misunderstandings will continue. I think it's good that he wanted to clarify what the trial period entailed and how far she was willing to go during that time. He's older than her, he has experience, while she has none, so it's good for him to know... which also helps her realize, because her trial proposal was impulsive and unthought-out. She hadn't thought at all about the consequences or what it would involve. Since dating a boy doesn't seem to have been part of her thoughts until now, she needs someone like him to walk the path in her mind.
The last scene: lighting, music, and slow motion as he grabs her arm = emotion/feeling/sensation. Then a new backlighting, this time for him (which is what highlights him best). And we end the episode, like the previous one, with unanswered questions. A point to be made and therefore a suspense, for us spectators, to make us want to come back \^\^.
It's strange not to see Yoi being pursued by other girls at school anymore. In the first episode, the scene was set quite deliberately, and now our brains are compensating, but we've really gone from everything to nothing. And since Kohaku wants to be the only one, it would be good to see him react to Yoi's popularity with the girls. Not even a glance or a whisper in the hallways when she walks by.
Conclusion: a less entertaining episode. The characters are less intriguing, whereas I like to look for hidden meanings. I have a soft spot for rabbits. To be continued in the next episode.
Jokes aside, we completely agree on the outfit choice during the date… I didn’t catch all the fashion details like you did, but I thought it was a shame to put her in a prince like outfit once again when it was the perfect opportunity for her to wear the princess like outfit
The masculine outfit doesn't really bother me, but it's clearly a poor choice... there are masculine/feminine looks that can be very glamorous... just look at the Saint Laurent tuxedo for women... it's one of the iconic looks of haute couture. As I mentioned, the Henley-neck t-shirt that Kohaku lent her was more flattering than what we saw in this episode.
(vous regardez quoi, en hebdo ?)
Had a stupid grin on my face throughout the entire episode. Lol at Yoi creating a contract for their relationship. But we all know that contract relationships always end up as real romances 💜
Ichimura is so smooth! Like, he gives total f-boi energy but the way he's genuinely enamored with Yoi makes every moment he shows his true feelings so swoon worthy. Especially how he doesn't let Yoi's handsomeness bother him.
My girl Yoi is also top tier and she absolutely killed the look in those clothes! I hope he buys them for her later.
