I don't remember the last time I've seen such universal hate for an anime. I think this one actually made history in that regard. It's been six years since One Punch Man Season 2. Two years more than the wait between seaosn 1 and seaosn 2. And I think the people that hated season 2 are really missing it right now. You could not browse the online anime community in Fall 2025 without experiencing the hate for this series. The biggest criticism was the terrible animation. And they're not wrong, but honestly I think for your average anime, this would actually be considered acceptable. Hell, this is the standard for Isekai if I'm being honest. It's the fact that One Punch Man set such a high bar for combat visuals that Season 3 was considered massively disappointing. To an extent season 2 also received criticism for similar reasons, but it's nothing like this. It's so bad to people that it's MyAnimeList socre is below 5. Do you realize how insane it is for an anime to get below a 5? The vast majority of anime on the website has a 7 point something. Getting below a 7 is rare, let alone below a 5. People were not having this, and honestly, I do get it, even if it's mainly by One Punch Man standards. As for the story, I'm not a manga reader, but even to me it did seem kind of rushed honeslty. It wasn't until the final episode when the visuals finally climbed up to the standards that One Punch Man set for people a decade ago, but that was obviously too little too late.
