Someone Pick my next anime

I’m at that point where I’m browsing for my next anime to watch and can’t decide. I just got caught up on kaiju, Sakamoto and MHA. JJK and hells paradise are coming out weekly and Black clover should be starting soon. I was thinking of starting from the list below:

\- Hero X

\- Lord of mysteries

\- Re:zero

\- Dorohedoro

Hi Stretch1738, it seems like you might be looking for new anime to watch!

The users of this subreddit came up with [a chart of anime recommendations for newcomers and veterans](https://i.redd.it/0w1v880jtq661.png) and [an awesome longer flowchart](https://i.redd.it/vdzlkodz19c71.png). Maybe you can find something there that you'll like \^.\^

The funny thing is half of them aren't anime. I'd go with Re:Zero.

Dorohedoro

sir_conington2026-01-25 23:33

I second this, Dorohedoro. Watched it on a whim and was so surprised by how much I loved it. Immediately went and read the manga after watching season 1. It's so fucking good

Stretch17382026-01-26 05:15

This seems to be the common trend with this show. Everytime I read the description I’m like idk how this could be worth the hype. But the same could be said about Dandadan lol

sir_conington2026-01-26 09:18

Yeah that doesn't surprise me, I also remember it didn't hook me right away but it's got this really weird charm to the world and it's characters which eventually won me over and I just needed to experience more.

I was so happy when they announced season 2, I honestly thought it was never going to happen.

Stretch17382026-01-26 17:55

What did you think of the manga and are you a manga reader or it was so good you had to read it?

sir_conington2026-01-26 22:15

The manga was excellent, the artwork is great, the pacing is perfect and the story just continues to get more and more interesting.

I am already a manga reader. This is often what I do as well, I use the anime as a gateway into the story and then I start reading the manga from where the anime stops.

Stretch17382026-01-26 22:47

That’s a great idea actually. I’ve debated starting to read manga when a season ends and there’s still so much more content out there.

sir_conington2026-01-27 00:40

That's exactly why I started doing it, I'm too impatient to wait years for the manga to be adapted into anime, or in some cases the anime was cancelled but I knew there was still heaps more to the manga.

If things do end up being adapted though I always enjoy going back to the anime and seeing the parts that I've read in the manga brought to life. Perfect example of that was the most recent episode of JJK, holyyyy fuck... lol

Stretch17382026-01-27 19:21

I’m behind on JJK. I usually wait till the season is finished to watch but the way people are talking about this season I might have to start it now so nothing is spoiled

I flipped a coin and it came up tails, so Dorohedoro.

Lord of mysteries 10/10

InternalAardvark97552026-01-25 20:07

Devilman. Not crybaby netflix. The OVAs bro.

Stretch17382026-01-26 04:42

Ironically I almost added devilman crybaby to the list above. Why do you suggest the OVAs?

InternalAardvark97552026-01-26 05:17

Better animation quality. Devilman is one of my favorite manga/animes. OVAs, rebith and demon bird are my favorite. Amon is nuts, metal as fuck. Crybabys animation looks cheap and generally bad, but they actually finished the story, even though it was rushed. About the only thing about Crybaby is that it does end. 70s manga is peak. 70s anime is speed racer on crack, I love that one too.
