What's the Anime Where the Main Character has to Beat a Videogame to Save the World?

It's not SAO, this was a different anime. I remembered this anime I saw in elementary school, probably around 2010. I was telling my brother about it and he wants to watch it, but I don't remember the name of it. I either saw it on Adult Swim or Netflix.

In the anime the main character has to beat a Videogame to save the world. I don't remember most of it, but I remember a specific scene from it.

In the scene the main character's brother broke the console somehow, so the main character punched him in the face. Then his Mom walked in and said something like "Woah, what are you doing? It's just a Videogame. It's not like the world's going to end, right?".

That's all I remember about it.

No Game, No Life

Log Horizon

It wasn't No Game, No Life, but it might've been Log Horizon. I don't think they ever got stuck in a Videogame, but I also didn't finish it. The main character had to build a TV or game console himself I think.

Summer Wars has a similar scene where they build a supercomputer inside their house to beat the villain.

I don't think so. I don't remember it being a virtual reality video game they had to play. I think aliens told the main character that beating the videogame would save the world, but I can't remember completely. I know that after he found out the videogame would save the world he had to build either a new console or a new TV.

My thought too

I looked it up and it looks very similar to the anime I'm thinking of. It was a long time ago so it's hard to say for sure just by reading a description of it online. I'm going to watch it tonight, but I think this might be it.

I'm almost 100 percent sure it's Summer Wars. I saw it again in theaters a couple months ago so my memory is kinda fresh. There is a scene where the heroes are ingame trying beat the bad guys and one the cousins fucks things up and get punched in the face because of it. Fantastic movie. I highly recommend it.
