Yumeko (cat girl in this clip) is a very fun, over the top character and the actual gambling aspects of the show are done in a fairly clever and interesting fashion.
It also has a fair share of stuff that is either very disturbing or disgusting. For example in one of the earlier episodes Yumeko faces off against a girl where the bet is that if her opponent wins, all of Yumeko's fingernails will be torn off. Said opponent then shows off a case she carries with her where the torn off fingernails of anyone she's beaten are kept.

I have a pet peeve that a lot of people say _Kakegurui_ is just entertaining at best just because it's extra. I think it's actually very interesting, but you gotta be in the right mindset.
Despite appearances, this isn't a story about the tactical intricacies of betting games. It's about the sick, self destructive thrill of gambling. A story like that wouldn't work at all if it was restrained and sensible. Being grossly irresponsible is the whole point. In being shameless, the story manages to present us with a lot of very interesting characters who all balance on the edge between superiority and stability, and the risk of loosing it all to their worst impulses.

Which streaming service has what show sometimes changes, and Crunchyroll and Prime might also have them at the same time as Netflix, or have them in certain countries but not others.

It's basically a battle shonen where the fights are replaced with games of chance and if it was really, really, REALLY horny. I genuinely, unironically love it, the "fights" are just so cool because they manage to be intense and suspenseful even though there's no traditional action. The horniness also feels more like....genuinely deranged and freaky than typical anime fan service so honestly it doesn't bother me as much as I expected it would, it fits the bat shit tone of everything

I’ll still defend Kakegurui. It was literally the third anime I watched after bleach and death note. I was still opening my mind to anime as a medium and letting go of the shame that used to be associated with watching it. This felt much different from everything I had seen up until then and I still feel like it’s worth watching.
Sure, there’s fanservice but not many anime focus gambling as the theme and the psychological side of it was very death note/classroom of the elite inspired. It was also pre-blowup MAPPA and I still think the school uniform designs are some of the coolest of any private school I’ve seen in an anime. It’s a shame it’s gotten so review bombed online. Give it a chance.

I tried to read the manga but found it incredibly dull and paneling was so crowded that it was hard to enjoy the art and take in the story. It wasn’t so bad at first. I actually read the arcs that got made into the 2nd season and was happy with how they animated it, but I really lost interest somewhere in the area where it could have been a third season. Maybe I’ll give it another try one day but I think safe to say everything that was worth animating got animated.

Kakegurui is not going to go the way you want it to go. But it *is* going to be excellent. It is a well-told story that almost no one is going to be happy about. I did not approve of how it went, but I can't help but acknowledge it was good. Kakegurui is Classroom of the Elite if the main character wasn't required to win in a masculine way.
One way or another, you should probably watch it, even if it makes you angry.
Lesbians seem to like it a lot, though. Make of that what you will.
