2/15 of my seasonals are on there, about on par for me!
ghostpickleonastick2026-01-26 19:53
15 is my highest (Hana-Kimi), then 21 (Holy Grail of Eris), 33 (Gnosia), 34 (Roll Over And Die), and 37 (Casebook of Arne). I don't expect any of these to ever crack top 10 on this chart.
toadfan642026-01-26 23:23
I usually watch around 5-8 seasonals and I'm lucky if more the 3 are on these top 10's.

FSF up by three ranks love to see it

To be fair this last episode was an absolute banger, my personal favorite so far

Oh dang, I haven't read the LNs, when I was going to read it they announced the first ep of FSF so I've been waiting ever since
THQ77792026-01-26 14:59
Well one day you’ll be reading it cause they obviously aren’t going to adapt that far into the story only midway at best
IdkYInstalledthis2026-01-26 15:00
Yeah, I'm not gonna wait 7 years for them to eventually finish this (if they do). I'll probably read it after this first season is over
THQ77792026-01-26 15:01
We don’t know whether or not they will even have a second season but I hope so cause it’s peak

So many people on twitter are spoiling things about Alcides that I can't help but be convinced it's having an effect on his current perception
THQ77792026-01-27 00:55
Good because the hatred was built up from constant years of hearing glazing to Alcides leak out when we all that’s never true, so the anime coming out has served as the breaking point for all of these people to gather and slander Alcides now
DragoSphere2026-01-27 00:58
It's not good though. Spoilers are bad, full stop
People just care about "maintaining the agenda" now. It's sad to see
THQ77792026-01-27 01:00
Tbh where I do it’s the own LN community circle jerking and it was never expected to go mainstream in the first place, I’m sorry anime onlies like you got caught in the crossfire, idk about others but it certainly wasn’t my intention to do so as all slander to Alcides is directed to those that read the LNs and can take the spoilers
milo3252026-01-26 18:55
For a Fate newbie, where do you even start?
duncandun2026-01-26 21:08
Ultimate bladeworks season 1/2, heavens feel movies, fate zero or start with zero. Could do fate grand order absolute demonic front Babylonia after for more context on a couple characters but it’s unnecessary
Could also watch it without seeing anything, it’s pretty stand alone but there’s are lots of characters and context that aren’t explored more
FivesCollariums2026-01-27 00:09
I strongly suggest that one should get a bit of context about the *The Case Files of Lord El-Melloi II,* as the anime(and the novel) has quite alot of mentions of the El-Melloi classroom...
duncandun2026-01-27 03:10
forgor about it, good call
oops_i_made_a_typi2026-01-26 23:01
just start with FSF tbh. but make sure you see episode 0, Whispers of Dawn
fatrabbit32026-01-27 05:14
I can't bring myself to watch the Fate series because they have dumb names
TheBusStop122026-01-26 12:59
They really love Tamon's B Side at Anime Trending. Not that I'm complaining, that show deserves more love. Tho personally I do think that Polar Opposites is the superior Romcom this season, but it's all about personal taste
Whole-Shape-77192026-01-26 13:15
Tamon is basically male idol Bocchi. Plus the comedy is exceptional (and JC Staff showing off what they’re capable of with decent time and budget). But yeah, to me both Tamon and Polar Opposites are great genre-breaking comedies. This is a mighty fine season.
Noli_de_Nolan2026-01-26 13:23
Besides. I'm glad Shoujos are back. It's almost dead genre and I'm glad JC Staff revived Shoujo and it shows Shoujo can compete with Shonen and Senien
1000-MAT2026-01-26 14:02
But there were a lot of shoujo manga last season.
moichispa2026-01-26 14:16
I mean we have hana kimi, the vampire idol show and we're getting new seasons for Aphotecary diaries and Yona.
It is not perfect but it is way better than it was a few years ago.
IQ_less2026-01-26 14:39
Its not dead. Never been. Only thing it was lacking was proper adaptations of the well written ones.
NatiBlaze2026-01-26 15:57
Shoujos were never dead, just that overseas don't give them a try.
Yona of the Dawn 2nd season is coming, Apothecary Diaries has always dominated, Oshi no Ko. Just like Shounen has sprinkled Seinen traits at this point, the many big "Shoujos" also does too and are mainstream.
Noli_de_Nolan2026-01-26 16:26
Apothecary Diaries was never in shoujo genre thou. It’s wasn’t even published under shoujo.
Falsus2026-01-26 16:25
In my opnion There was a Cute Healer in the Hero's Party is the best romcom of the season.
TheBusStop122026-01-26 17:14
I really enjoy that one as well. It has a wonderful silly charm that warms my heart and makes me happy. But for me personally few animated stories can top the amount of charisma the MCs of Polar Opposites have together. As a married person it's in my opinion one of the realest relationships I've seen in anime
Falsus2026-01-26 17:59
Oh yeah I won't deny that Polar Opposites is a great MC, like how [anime spoilers]>!how he akwardly tries to communicate about what is cute or not when he isn't sure and so on!< just I prefer the setting of a fantasy romcom over the highschool setting since it is so overdone in my opinion.
TheBusStop122026-01-26 18:01
I generally prefer non school settings as well, so I really appreciate cute girl in the heroes party for doing a fantasy romcom. Love that shit
Falsus2026-01-26 18:08
Yeah it feels like it is pretty rare for an anime adaptation to fully commit to the romcom in a fantasy. I can think of several novels and manga that heavily focuses on the romance, but not many of them gets anime shows.
milo3252026-01-26 18:54
It’s good, for sure.
KitKat17212026-01-26 17:44
Anime Trending's crowd has a better ratio of young women to men than reddit, and is younger than this sub specifically where the average user age is in the 30s iirc. Makes sense that shojo would thrive a bit more.
TheBusStop122026-01-26 17:51
And today I learned that as a 30 yo man my anime taste aligns more with that of young women. I'm okay with that, they have impeccable taste
HeckingJen2026-01-30 00:08
Really? I read up to current on polar opposites and it's cute sure but it's incredibly generic. Hell it's worse than generic because generic has the main characters be stock but stock is better than nothing. The main male lead has negative personality. He drags down the rest of the actually compelling cast by existing.
Living_Article84822026-01-26 13:03
deserve to be top frieeren the best !!
Illustrious-Star-6212026-01-26 13:04
adding tamon's b side to watch list. i guess frieren will be topping most of the upcoming list
DWIPssbm2026-01-26 13:08
You should, Tamon's B side is actually hilarious, been a while since a romcom had me laughing out loud
aggressive_waffle2026-01-26 13:06
I LOVE tamon's b side (waiting 7 days for the next ep is feeling like such a long time). Also loving these anime this season: You and I are polar opposites (this one is so cute and I love the romcom between the characters), oshi no ko s3 (dying to see the part where ruby and aqua know that they got reincarnated as twins, idk if it will be included this season or not thou.) I haven't watched the hell's paradise s2 yet. (Will start with s2 soon)
Noli_de_Nolan2026-01-26 13:22
Funny enough. Tamon B Side and Fridten is the only anime I'm currently watching this season.
Im glad JC Staff have revived the genre of Shoujo and Shoujo made a come back!
duncandun2026-01-26 21:10
Do you think shojo went somewhere
J-Hobber2026-01-26 13:22
Shame that Journal With Witch didn’t make it this week. One of my favorites this season
RealMyBliss2026-01-26 14:11
Easily top 5 this season. Pace wise it reminds me of 'days with my step sister'
MTGothmog2026-01-26 14:36
I started it last night and immediately knew this was something special.
IQ_less2026-01-26 14:38
Its good but not explosive enough to grasp the attention of the mass. Frieren is somewhat like that too but that one has the action and fan service aspects to it (yes that's right, its there, just very subtle) so that one stands out much more. I've watched the majority of the rest on the chart here and what I can tell with 100% certainty is that Journal with Witch's writing is clearly up there. But it's a slow burn show that folks will come to appreciate in due time, and not the type of thing that will hype the crowd up, blow people away and all that would qualify for top spots every single week. Competition for this season is pretty stacked too.
JellyfishPatient242026-01-27 03:57
Journal with witch is not explosive true. But man did i get hooked in the first 5 minute of the first episode. The dialogue was too impactful and the singing at the start was too good. As a slice of life that is not romance it will not have as many viewers as other animes this season. It is truly sadge.
IQ_less2026-01-27 05:30
But on the other hand, this is precisely one of the ways cult classics are born.
SpinachStunning79082026-01-26 15:53
Easily top 3 for me, and the rest isn't even close.
IcarusMatrix2026-01-27 05:18

Fate needs to be higher
dancelordzuko2026-01-26 15:35
Out of curiosity, do you need to have watched other Fate anime to enjoy this? Or just a basic working knowledge of the how the Grail Wars work is enough? I've seen the original Fate Stay Night anime and the UBW movie.
Cross_Toss2026-01-26 15:40
~~Oh you poor lad~~
dancelordzuko2026-01-26 15:46
That what my college friend said to me too as he booted up his copy of UBW for me to watch.
Cross_Toss2026-01-26 15:59
The UBW movie is the worst way to experience what is, IMO, the best route of Stay Night. To put it into perspective, the Heaven's Feel movie trilogy is 4 hours longer than the UBW movie and still doesn't adapt every key moment from the original VN.
As for Strange Fake, you can technically come in blind, but I highly advise at least watching Fate/Zero (or rather, the 3 Ufotable Fate animes, but you already watched the original Stay Night anime, so it's not strictly necesary).
ScumBrad2026-01-26 15:41
You're good to watch it. I've only seen Zero before this one and understand most of it. The prologue (episode 0) explains enough.
dancelordzuko2026-01-26 15:48
Sweet, that's what I was hoping.
I wonder if it would be much higher in the rankings if people knew they didn't need to be up to date with the franchise. From what I have seen, it looks amazing.
aimglitchz2026-01-27 03:04
Sigh..... Sick of people asking for shortcut
dancelordzuko2026-01-27 03:24
Could you elaborate on your answer? Do you need to watch every Fate related anime out there for this one? Do you need to have played FGO?
aimglitchz2026-01-27 03:27
the more characters u know from past series the better ur understanding. i didn't play much fgo
Makoto_Kurume2026-01-26 13:38
Can I understand Fate Strange Fake without ever watching the previous Fate series?
Aesion2026-01-26 13:50
Yes, but watch the episode 0 first.
LordMonday2026-01-26 14:06
As the other comment said, yes you can buy make sure to watch episode 0,alsp called whispers of dawn, first.
The only thing you miss out from Not watching the basics like Unlimited Blade Works, Zero or Heavens Feel are at most passing references or easter eggs.
The actual main plot and main characters have mostly nothing to do with the previous series.
This Also applies to other Fate spin off series btw. Really only the adaptations of the Original Stay Night VN and Zero should have a watch order
toadfan642026-01-26 23:26
This is what I've also been told when I wanted to watch Prisma Illya without the rest of the series.
Equivalent_Ad_58602026-01-26 15:41
Don't worry, I read the novel for years and haven't watched any other fate series. The reference inserted by Narita is great for the more experienced fan that notice it, but it don't really dampen my enjoyment imo
Arighetto2026-01-26 21:42
Yeah but it would be a better viewing experience if you watch the other Fate series first.
SwingsetGuy2026-01-27 00:18
Sort of... ? I can follow it easily enough, but I've watched some Fate before. My fiance, otoh, watched episodes 0-2, leaned over, and said, "what the hell is going on and are they ever going to stop introducing new characters?"
The honest answer is that like most things Fate, it has a lot going on for the lore fans that it takes very seriously, but most people are just there for a flashy tournament arc of famous historical and/or mythical figures. You try to guess who's who, zone out whenever the portentous magicians start soliliquizing about homunculi or whatever, and wait for whoever's got Excalibur this season to shout "EGGS-U-CARIBA!" and blow something up. Then Gilgmaesh calls somebody a mongrel and nobody actually gets what they want. Tune in next year for Fate/Uncanny Sidegrade or whatever, where the holy grail war takes place in Paris, there's a different class for reasons that will be explained by constant as-you-know-Bobs, and John Milton's got Excalibur this time because he thought about writing a King Arthur poem once.
aimglitchz2026-01-27 01:43
Please don't shortcut this franchise
Lucky_Fruit78652026-01-27 14:46
Yes you can
Waifu_Raichu2026-01-28 12:20
I put off the series for a while because I didn't know where to start. I'd say just jump in and if you like it, watch more.
wloff2026-01-26 13:39
Significant improvement over last week's list, with Fate/strange Fake and Oshi no Ko deservedly climbing to more respectable ranks and toppling Sentenced to be a Hero, among others.
[](#seasonalapproval)
They sure do love their romance over at Anime Trending, huh? Not that I complain. Tamon-kun is great.
GokaiRed642026-01-26 13:44
Nice to see some Fate appreciation
Is Ramon's B side good? Watched the first episode and felt nothing special.
Empressoftheforsaken2026-01-26 14:07
I like it, it's not super-deep in terms of story (so far) and it's a bit predictable but I find it super funny and there are cute moments. It's just not taking itself too seriously and the humor is really good. It does pick up a little more in episode 2 and 3, worth to give it another episode IMO.
LabmemLily2026-01-26 19:11
Shoujo manga usually gets the short end of the stick with adaptations so Tamon's B-Side is getting a lot of hype in being an actually good adaptation. Plus the gap moe with all the F/ACE members is great.
BlankHeroineFluff2026-01-26 13:44
Tamon defending its #2 spot in AniTrend makes me super happy, especially with its disappointing Karma ranking here on Reddit.

How is oshi no ko still this high when its fanbase is extremely critical of the shows currently
DonMatteoh2026-01-26 14:58
Im out of the loop, what is it that's being criticized? It's my fav series out there out of all, the 1st one that gave me the impulse to rush to the nearest bookstore to buy all the mangas cos I just HAD to know how it ended. The ending has been criticized a whole lot for cutting a lot of stuff, sure, but is there more I'm not aware of? AFAIK the anime has kept up with expectations in regards to drawings and adaptation and some are still hoping for the anime to pull a Tokyo Ghoul and change the finale or parts of it
Harvey-The-Nerd2026-01-26 15:26
yeah it’s mostly just people critiquing the fact that the anime is still going on even though the ending is bad, which is kinda weird for people to make a fuss over when we’re still at the part where the series is very good lol.
DonMatteoh2026-01-26 15:43
Downvote me to oblivion for all I care but I liked the ending. "Womp womp a sad story has a semi-sad ending" no shit Sherlock ☠️
kazuyaminegishi2026-01-26 16:32
I don't think you can summarize issues with the ending as "tragic story has tragic ending" the issues with the ending revolve around how disjointed the individual aspects of it were.
For instance, [Oshi no Ko manga spoilers] >!Amamiya's spirit being a separate being from Aqua makes no sense when Ruby has no such dynamic as a fellow reincarnation. This plot point seemingly only exists to justify Aqua's romantic options, but then those romantic options don't go anywhere. Making a movie to expose the dad's crimes is bizarre when they could have easily gone to the police, theres no justification for not doing so. The manga plants the seed that the dad is a serial killer (by plant I mean essentially openly state it), but the narrative does nothing with this plot point either. Aqua's decision to kill himself is painted as an inevitability that he has no choice in because of all of the "awful" stuff hes done. But he hadn't done anything where this ending was earned for him, and his death was not necessary to get his revenge. This also goes back on the plot point of Amamiya being separate from him. Also for a manga that was more focused on blending a murder mystery with acting it pretty much abandoned acting as a plot point after the stage play.!<
The ending was rushed and felt like the mangaka ran out of steam. More power to you if what was there worked for you, but you don't need to misrepresent people who think differently from you.
Desperate_Method40202026-01-26 18:16
Yes it makes sense, when you think that she was ill and bedridden most of her short lif, while he was a grown adult. Tho I agree with most of your other criticism.
I never felt that the manga was going for acting as a plot point, the focus was always with the entertainment industry, and specifically the idol industry.
DonMatteoh2026-01-26 18:41
Yeah made that reply in a hastle and fully agree on it looking like it was rushed. Definitely left some stuff hanging around, but in my eyes i enjoyed it, tho id love for the anime to at least try something different even just to get more content out of my fav manga
1000-MAT2026-01-26 15:23
The criticism isn't directed at the episode itself, but at the forced ending of the manga.
UMP45isnotflat2026-01-26 15:26
People watching the anime arent necessarily the same as those who finished the manga.
Also at this point its simply a really good anime.
Falsus2026-01-26 17:50
The fanbase ain't mad about the anime, they are mad about the story going to shit and then the trash tier manga ending. The story will reach the point where it goes to shit only after this season ends and obviously the ending is further away still.
I haven't really seen anyone complain much about the current story, like yeah it isn't as highly regarded as the stuff season 2 covered or the initial Ai prologue part but it isn't seen as shit either.
Emi_Ibarazakiii2026-01-26 19:13
> when its fanbase is extremely critical of the shows currently
Manga readers are critical.
The show is still 10/10 and anime onlies don't care about future events that annoying readers like to spoil everywhere.

Unspoken2026-01-26 15:14
These are stupid. Based on reddit polls? Why not base them on engagement? Upvotes and comments. Or views.
In no universe is tamon's bside or hells paradise being watched more than jjk. And this is from someone who likes both those two shows.
Icapica2026-01-26 16:26
> In no universe is tamon's bside or hells paradise being watched more than jjk.
Yeah, but this isn't about that. People pick their favorite episode of the week, so even someone who watched JJK might still vote for some other, more niche show.
Edit - If you care about engagement, there's a similar post about anime popularity on this sub:
>These are stupid. Based on reddit polls? Why not base them on engagement? Upvotes and comments. Or views.
This isn't from reddit. This is another anime site from votes and they just post the poll results on here.
Reddit poll for r/anime is the [karma ranking list](https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/s/n9zgBtE3oA)
Falsus2026-01-26 17:55
This is the animetrending web site, which is quite a lot bigger than the reddit karma threads. With around 30k-60k people on average, which is definitely a decent enough amount of votes to not make it prone to stastitical wonkiness.
And this isn't about being the most watched but the most liked by the people who goes on that site and votes.
Jin_woo_shadow2026-01-26 16:05
Fire force and Hell's paradise are my hidden gem animes for this season ❤️🩹

Shiboyugi too low but it's still one of my favorite animes this season. Hell's Paradise is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 and deserves it's current ranking.

Glad tamon is doing well on anime trending!
Training_Bother_16632026-01-26 17:01
Shiboyugi dropped to the top 10 despite releasing one of the best episodes about Mishiro's past, which was undoubtedly very disturbing.

Gnosia not here given how good the most recent ep was is insane.
KitKat17212026-01-26 17:46
Fate/Strange Fake, Tamon's B-Side, and Journal with Witch are my favorite non-sequels of the season, glad to at least see the first two are doing well.
Galactus17012026-01-26 18:39
My Queen is in her rightful place as #1, but I am glad that people are enjoying my other favorites this season: Tamon’s B-Side and You and I are Polar Opposites.

Where is Medalist?
Pharaoh_Misa2026-01-27 01:48
We're still waiting for it on my side. 😢 The damn episode has not released on Hulu and I'm actually fucking ravenous right now. I can't seem to find a straight answer as to *when* it's coming out for us in the US or the UK, but I've read it's on some sort of delay. It technically should still be there, but I fear no one has been to watch it that might participate in these votes. I'm READY for it. Medalist was my top three favorite series last year -- I **need** this.
IceAnt5732026-01-26 18:53
To be expected, *Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End S2* instantly at 1st. Now to see if it can maintain that.
Anime Trending's *Tamon's B-Side* voters are organized and I can appreciate that quirk about the site.
Happy *【Oshi no Ko】S3* is in a higher spot, but I hope *SHIBOYUGI: Playing Death Games to Put Food on the Table* doesn't fall out of the Top 10.
Emi_Ibarazakiii2026-01-26 19:10

* **Trigun Stargaze** (#20 vs #28)
* **Dark Moon: The Blood Altar** (#22 vs #32)
* **Golden Kamuy Final Chapter** (#26 vs #33)
* **The Demon King’s Daughter is too Kind!!** (#27 vs #39)
* **Does It Count If You Lose Your Virginity to an Android?** (#29 vs #37)
And these are notable anime that placed lower in the AT chart:
* **Tune In to the Midnight Heart** (#13 vs #4)
* **Chained Soldier Season 2** (#16 vs #11)
* **The Holy Grail of Eris** (#21 vs #16)
* **There was a Cute Girl in the Hero’s Party, so I Tried Confessing to Her** (#24 vs #18)
* **The Darwin Incident** (#30 vs #24)
* **You Can’t Be In a Rom-Com with Your Childhood Friends!** (#32 vs #22)
* **Jack-of-All-Trades, Party of None** (#33 vs #19)
Of course since the airing period is different you can't really compare the two chart, but this should give an information that both outlet prefers different anime and have their own taste as well such as AC fanbase likes Tune In to the Midnight Heart while AC likes Tamon's B-Side more.

Why is isn't Golden Kamuy on here ?? The disrespect is preposterous.

Shiboyugi made it!

So happy to see Tamon-kun appreciation! 🥰
Do AC and AT have an up/down vote system similar to reddit or is it just a single "yay" vote and no "nays"? These 2 are always so different from the reddit karma posts and I don't think demographics are enough to explain the large gaps in rankings. Would be interesting to see how the karma posts compare if only positive karma was counted.

You just vote for what you want on Anime Corner and Anime Trending.

Frieren No.1 as it should be 💪
Local-Price-25792026-01-27 08:06
oshi no koi is so slept on, manga prolly damaged the hype 😔
Think-Cut-88502026-01-27 11:05
The manga straight up pulled up and stabbed the anime in the back
Sad_Veterinarian78212026-01-27 19:55
FRIEREN!!!
H_DANILO2026-01-27 21:12
Tojima Wants to be Kamen Rider not being in this list is absolutely crazy.
Evening_Stick_43232026-01-28 00:59
Frieren has that feel which makes anime great. There used to be many other animes which had that feel, but it has been pretty quiet for years.

People just care about "maintaining the agenda" now. It's sad to see
Could also watch it without seeing anything, it’s pretty stand alone but there’s are lots of characters and context that aren’t explored more
It is not perfect but it is way better than it was a few years ago.
Yona of the Dawn 2nd season is coming, Apothecary Diaries has always dominated, Oshi no Ko. Just like Shounen has sprinkled Seinen traits at this point, the many big "Shoujos" also does too and are mainstream.
Im glad JC Staff have revived the genre of Shoujo and Shoujo made a come back!
As for Strange Fake, you can technically come in blind, but I highly advise at least watching Fate/Zero (or rather, the 3 Ufotable Fate animes, but you already watched the original Stay Night anime, so it's not strictly necesary).
I wonder if it would be much higher in the rankings if people knew they didn't need to be up to date with the franchise. From what I have seen, it looks amazing.

They sure do love their romance over at Anime Trending, huh? Not that I complain. Tamon-kun is great.
Is Ramon's B side good? Watched the first episode and felt nothing special.
I never felt that the manga was going for acting as a plot point, the focus was always with the entertainment industry, and specifically the idol industry.
Also at this point its simply a really good anime.
I haven't really seen anyone complain much about the current story, like yeah it isn't as highly regarded as the stuff season 2 covered or the initial Ai prologue part but it isn't seen as shit either.
Manga readers are critical.
The show is still 10/10 and anime onlies don't care about future events that annoying readers like to spoil everywhere.
In no universe is tamon's bside or hells paradise being watched more than jjk. And this is from someone who likes both those two shows.
Yeah, but this isn't about that. People pick their favorite episode of the week, so even someone who watched JJK might still vote for some other, more niche show.
Edit - If you care about engagement, there's a similar post about anime popularity on this sub:
https://reddit.com/r/anime/comments/1qmk10l/ranime_karma_ranking_discussion_week_4_winter_2026/
This isn't from reddit. This is another anime site from votes and they just post the poll results on here.
Reddit poll for r/anime is the [karma ranking list](https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/s/n9zgBtE3oA)
And this isn't about being the most watched but the most liked by the people who goes on that site and votes.
