Why is Rudeus from Mushoku Tensei such a mean and selfish person
I’ve been watching it recently and I can’t get myself to like the main characters because he feels like a horrible person and the way he exploits other people feels awful.
On top of that, I can’t get myself to like that he keeps falling up in life and doesn’t face any kind of consequence for his unkind behavior towards others.
It is unique compared to other isekai I’ve watched but even so a decent human being would’ve been a lot more likable and I hate that a combined personality of all the people I hate in my life having such a good time.

Or then OP just loves goodyshoe cookiecutter MC that never do wrong and anything else is horrible.
I mean Rudeus is by no means perfect but that is what makes him a nice change from the typical isekai MC's.
I find it to be NEET catering to people with bad personality traits that lack accountability and it does that by masking it with visuals or story or what have you.
Sometimes I wonder if some people know what a power fantasy is.
>I watch the show because I like the magic but I know rudeus is a shit person. Anyone who says otherwise is a red flag.
You like magic, you like magic, lol
What? Like, you have a bunch of anime with magic, and you're watching this one, which doesn't even handle magic as well as the novel, lol.
>He is insanely powerful with little to no effort.
He trains every day, and besides not being powerful, he literally only loses when he's alone.
>You can make smarmy comments while pretending to be intellectually superior without presenting any actual arguments but it just makes you sound like a pretentious dumbass.
Sorry, but it seems like manners have ended here. I could leave a comment, but I prefer to block you.
Because people are like that.

He is not a good person, but he isn't something totally bad either, he also helps others, but he will never do something that harms himself for the sake of others.

Good things happen to him, bad things happen to him, it’s not just one extreme.

Yes, it's unique, so why do you want to turn it into a standard story where the characters are split between 'good' and 'evil'?

"Then you should watch something else, because this isn't a story that gives answers, it's a story meant to raise questions, so it's obviously not for you."
Rudeus was the worst kind of person when he reincarnated, so obviously his actions, both at the beginning of the story and before that, are horrible and unforgivable, But that doesn't mean he can't change as a person, and again, change doesn't mean erasing mistakes.
hes having a full on breakdown in front of god bc he cant keep diddling kids. character growth my ass. i hate this pedo show so much. everybody who keeps defending it so passionately is sus af
Does everyone miss the part where he was kicked out of home at age 8?
Depending on how one defines a "decent human being", perhaps you and other viewers would feel that way if the character writing for him was changed to have him more aligned in that direction. I can certainly believe and understand that.
But myself personally, I would find that a lot less interesting, enjoyable, and engaging as it would make it more similar and indistinct to other more generic series than it.
All of his other awful traits never change, and are rewarded, because the author doesn't see any of them as a problem. Him simply venturing out to join his new society makes him the hero that deserves every good thing that comes to him. His other awfulness being rewarded and appreciated by those around him is his reward for getting a job.
