Inuyasha

I'm going to limit this to stuff where the romance actually reaches some sort of conclusion in the material covered by the anime.
Astra Lost in Space
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
Gurren Lagann
Parasyte
Depending on what exactly you mean by the question, I may be able to give more.
Gullible_Egg_65392026-01-30 11:11
I mean these anime don't really have a real "romance" subplot. I haven't watched Gurren Lagann but the rest of them are just characters liking each other and eventually ending up together in the epilogue. That's not really a subplot and it's not even really romance because nothing romantic happens.
Cocacola_Desierto2026-01-26 21:02
Planetes.

Working! is mostly a slice of life comedy show, but it has several romantic subplots.

here's a personal favorite of mine: Banished from the Hero's Party, I Decided to Live a Quiet Life in the Countryside.
I also reccomend: Chillin' in My 30s After Getting Fired from the Demon King's Army
they have similar themes, but the first one has the better romance.

I agree the romance is rushed in latter, but Malika is wifu of the ages. When she put that cork in the wall😁

Not too sure, but I'd recommend Violet Evergarden. It's eye opening and reflective, although I wouldn't say it's exactly romance, but it kind of evokes an idea rather than what you would usually think of as romance.
IfeelChilly2026-01-27 08:56
I'll add Welcome to the Ballroom to the list, because I think this fits nicely
Ill_Championship99022026-01-27 10:19
No one mentioned "The Apothecary Diaries" yet?
Romance is a major subplot. The main plot is politics, intrigues, detective stories etc.
