What are the best tsundere in anime?

Personally theres a couple up for nomination, but my personal picks:

Okay sorry Senjougahara is just the best tsundere... but seriously, I am curious to your guys' favorite tsundere, because some of my friend's have said Nagatoro and some Taiga Aisaka but I haven't watched Toradora yet so I have no idea. Drop your thoughts!!!

Maybe Karane from 100 Girlfriends, but, moving on to the anime games side, Natsuki from Doki Doki Literature Club.

I love tsunderes up to a point. If they continue to be completely awful and annoying throughout the entire anime, I start to hate them and probably drop the anime.

Asuka is definately a classic Tsundere, but the first famous Tsundere? I must heavily disagree... There are super famous 80's tsunderes like my favorite Madoka Ayukawa from Kimagure Orange Road or from what I've heard Lum from Urusei Yatsura. Akane Tendo from Ranma 1/2 is also a late 80's example of a super famous tsundere.

You are probably right.

I need to fully watch both versions of the anime one day. I did watch a few episodes on TV when I was a teenager, but it's been a while and I don't remember that well the details of the characters. I just included Akane because I've heard she is a classic tsundere and from the few things I do remember, it matched. Out of the examples I've mentioned, the only anime I've watched fully several times (when I was a teenager, and then recently) is Kimagure Orange Road.

Lum was very affectionate to her beloved even if she could get hella violent. She never pulled that “oh yeah? I don’t even care about you anyway!” stuff that I can remember. I haven’t seen the remake tho. Akane is a tsundere all-star for sure.

Haven't watched Urusei Yatsura, I just heard that she was a famous example of an early tsundere, so I'll take you for your word.

But Madoka Ayukawa I can 100% guarantee fits the tsundere archetype perfectly, while still being a complex and very layered character. At the start, she literally acts super cold with the MC when in front of other people while when she is alone, she shows way more her dere side, while still being incredibly cool.

Idk why people always say Lum, she is the opposite to a tsundere, she openly express her love and she is not shy about it

She uses physical violence against Ataru (the guy she likes) when he misbehaves (Ataru, on the other hand, is the true tsundere of the show)

Tsundere and Kuudere are a spectrum and Senjougahara is what I consider the exact dividing line between them. Makise Kurisu is immediately to the right on the chill-tsundere side, Sakurajima Mai is immediately to the left on the sassy-kuudere side. As we go further in each direction the aspects of the opposing end fade more and more until at the extremes we are left with the robotic emotionless kuudere and the red hot violent "she throwin hands" tsundere, a dichotomy most famously showcased in le epic Freudian robot show.

With that established, top 5 fav tsunderes:

None. It's easily one of the worst character archetypes there are. And I wanna note that a character occasionally being pouty or having tsundere moments isn't necessarily bad. I'm talking about characters whose entire thing is being bipolar.

1. Tohsaka Rin (Fate) is a classic for a reason, she gets bonus points since she's not just a tsundere about love, but also about being a decent person

2. Inda Karane (100 Girlfriends) is possibly the most tsundere tsundere to ever tsundere

3. Misaka Mikoto (Toaru) is a tsundere so good, her spinoff ended up more popular than the source material

4. Shinomiya Kaguya (Kaguya-sama) is a bit of a tsundere/kuudere hybrid, but gets extra points for having some of the most believable (and depressing) reasons for her tsundere tendencies in tsundere history
