A low-key remarkable scene for sure, nothing grand, just adorably cute while neatly highlighting how people see things differently.

'tis the perfect time for propaganda on this show
[SPOILERS FOR THE PAST THREE AIRING WEEKS] >!One episode in and they're an item, and now they're sorting out their feelings. Not unprecedented efficiency, but still remarkable for the archetypal high school romance.!<

Sasuga Reiwa-era rom-com.

They are such a freaking cute couple. She is just 100% sugary fluffiness. The series is a unexpected delight.

This is what Anya will be like when she grows up.

I remember watching the Puss in Boots movie and there was a moment that showed a page of a book that Goldilocks loved. It showed that the book was repeatedly taken from the library by Goldilocks and once by Hansel and Gretel. It was a blink and you miss it, but I love the details that it gives. It’s something that most people would miss. That movie had a lot of small details like that.

Is this one a good one? I'm scarred from slow burns😭
mythriz2026-01-27 16:37
[spoiler for ep1] >!They get together by the end of the first episode, so not a slow burn on the "getting together" part if that's what you mean.!<
It's a comedy romance with adorable characters and no/low drama, just the main couple and their friends interacting and learning to deal with each others' (edit: and their own) quirks, I really enjoyed the manga.
VariousAccess62412026-01-27 16:42
Aw, that sounds really cute. Might give it a watch now, thanks!
littlecolt2026-01-27 16:42
It's amazing and not a slow-burn. Just pure cuteness and good times.
dagreenman182026-01-27 16:45
[Spoiler for Romances]>!theres 3 flavors for a little something for everyone. Main couple literally the first episode and it’s about their relationship. Side couple 1 gets the traditional development, but they’re dating midway. 3rd is the slow burn!<
jus_plain_me2026-01-27 17:09
Anime only watcher and we're literally only 3 eps in, BUT it's got potential to be one of the better romance anime I've seen in a long time.
It seems so much more relatable and both characters aren't held back by misunderstandings and needless apologies that only delay progress.
But again it's v early on and I could may well eat my words by the end of the season.
That said, almost obligatory shout out to the also airing Hana Kimi. If the anime dies, absolutely watch the live action. It's nigh on perfect romance anime.
bravetailor2026-01-27 21:44
They are already an item here.
TheBusStop122026-01-27 22:09
It's more of a firestorm than a slow burn. You'll love it
ClemFire2026-01-27 17:45
The first episode really gripped me, but it was honestly this scene showing off the difference between how Suzuki and Tani think that made me realize this author really understands people.
My highlight out of all the new anime this season
shewy922026-01-27 17:58
I'm the same way as her, especially for anime character names lol.
Made_Bail2026-01-27 20:25
Oh God, preach. I forget character names like a week after I watch the show half the time. I'm already a face guy in my native language, so when it comes to Japanese names, I'm pretty hopeless.
shewy922026-01-27 22:42
Japanese names are just lost to me. The only reason I can remember the Konosuba names is they're not Japanese lol. Other than Kazuma and Megumin of course but still, that's all they go by. I don't even know if Kazuma is his family or given name, which is one reason I think I get confused. Im unfamiliar with Japanese names and you expect me to remember two per character?
Made_Bail2026-01-27 22:46
Yup same. Other shows, like Frieren, are mostly easy for the MC's, too, but especially shows set in Japanese High Schools? Forget about it lol
DirtyTacoKid2026-01-28 04:53
I find its all names. I think if you consume mostly anime you may feel like you are worse at remember anime character names. But thats also most of what you are doing so...
SquashPuzzleheaded502026-01-27 19:00
He remembers the inquisitive details she remembers the visual details, simple
blamordeganis2026-01-27 20:01
This is probably my favourite romance between dorks since Dangers of My Heart.
bravetailor2026-01-27 21:48
Very amusing conversation.
Funny thing is while I'm way closer to Tani in personality, I watch movies and TV like Suzuki. I remember visual details and actions much more than names and terms. For example, I remember during the Mangaka's Weirdly Wonderful Workplace episode discussion threads, a lot of people in the episode threads seemed to miss the brief shot of the deaf girl and her hearing aid in the last episode (?), but that was one of the few things I remember first when recalling that scene. But OTOH I don't remember the names of most of the people involved in that scene other than the protag.
In fact, even before writing this post I had to check the names of these two first to be sure. Otherwise I would just remember them as "pink haired girl" and "glasses guy".
AncientAnt92252026-01-27 21:56
This is just the sweetest romance i love it
TheBusStop122026-01-27 22:03
I love that Tani is really good at remembering facts, while Suzuki is very good at discerning meaning behind small details. These are legitimate polar opposite real life character traits, logical vs emotional thinking.
Personally I have trouble remembering facts in a movie like Tani, but I love noticing small details, connecting the dots in my head and realizing why the creators added it, understanding the deeper meaning behind it. I am a very emotional and visual thinker. I love looking for Chekhovs Gun. That's probably why I love this show as well, cuz it's jam packed with stuff like that
And it's brought up so naturally. I genuinely love this show
