Can someone explain Marie Sawamura sudden weight gain between scenes in MF Ghost?

So anyone who watches MF Ghost know that the series feature angels and amongst them is the girl in question. In season 1 she was a little more chubby than others to the point it was barely noticeable as fan service for race watchers that like bigger ass. In season 2 and 3 she was still in good shape with barely noticeable weight difference but then at the beginning of 3rd round when it came to moving places on board she was shown as fat girl so you started wondering if she ate other angel between start of the race and place changing. Did author ever explained why he suddenly changed her design to be much fatter than before and why he did that so randomly in middle of race?

I am speaking as an anime-only viewer but this is my take for the manga: It is possible that the manga-ka had inconsistencies of her weight. When a series weekly or bi-weekly for years, it is possible a creator will forget about particular character's traits or habits. Perhaps that could extend to an anime version, at times.
