Boy, this new season of Kimetsu no Yaiba went in a very different direction after they changed studios...

diacewrb2026-01-27 15:24

This is clearly another season of The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated!

Marth-Koopa2026-01-27 16:44

I thought it was a prequel to Maoyu

ObvsThrowaway51202026-01-27 14:24

Little Doux Riding Hood was pretty damn cute. Kind of hilarious Papa Ahriman just busted outta that hood like a demon jack-in-the-box lol.

We got another really cute song again this week. Doux’s little songs are always so cute!

Doux’s an unstoppable force of nature! Humans, demons, animals, and even angels can’t step to her cuteness lol. So adorable how she made a new little friend.

ClemFire2026-01-27 18:39

Doux's kindness is so unstoppable I think she would manage to befriend Frieren

AccusingGojo2026-01-27 20:45

Finally Frieren will be able to reason with a demon

todd-ashi2026-01-27 21:44

I don't know if Doux is really reasoned with, more like surrendered to!

Mr_Zaroc2026-01-27 22:02

Thats the thing, demons use speech to decieve, but Doux is sharing her heart in honesty.

Like she could probably sneak up on Frieren and head pat her because she got like negative killing intent.

ClemFire2026-01-27 22:12

I think quickly Frieren would understand that she is biologically quite different from the demons in her world

___Chud___2026-01-27 23:23

Yeah the demons in Frierens world should not be compared to the demons in other anime where there could be some 'good ones'. I think the arc that would show us why will just miss out getting adapted in Frieren season 2 however it may get turned into a movie instead.

Lodju2026-01-27 14:57

Look at that, being nice and generous earns the trust and praise of humans even if you are a demon king.

I support Doux becoming the next demon king! She is the most OP one out of them after all.

mekerpan2026-01-27 17:49

They never did explain just WHAT that "divine messenger" really was. He LOOKED like a renegade demon to me.

Lodju2026-01-27 17:52

Not all demons follow the demon king so that was my assumption aswell.

S6272026-01-27 15:12

So they made it seem like the Angels brought those humans to heaven right? Sooo.....does that mean they killed them? Doesn't seem like a very Angel thing to do.

tripleaamin2026-01-27 16:31

Thinking about it, like, that really strikes me as odd. Demons being cruel outside Doux tbh works well. Instead of helping them move to a different town, moving them to "heaven" kind of feels weird.

HugeRichard112026-01-28 02:19

Probably feels weird either way since as they said, they legit kidnapped them against their will. Angels being cruel would fit the theme of this show anyways since it doesn't hold back to darker aspects

hbmonk2026-01-27 20:29

They didn't actually show the humans up there, so maybe that's not where they took them.

HugeRichard112026-01-28 02:20

The implication that they died and can't return would make sense why the show didn't showcase them going back if it was never an option, but the demon generals did say they would get them back. Potentially saying that to just calm him down, but I want to believe they can considering demons can go to the human world and angels too.

NationalStrategy2026-01-27 15:25

Jahy should be proud. Not only did Doux give out the apples like she was supposed to do, she also ended up poisoning a "Divine Messenger", and helped get more people to serve under the Demon King. Doux succeeded more than what was expected of her.

diacewrb2026-01-27 15:34

And Doux has made peace with an Angel and calmed her dad down.

She deserves the Nobel Peace Prize.

mekerpan2026-01-27 17:48

I wonder if the villagers will get to return? (They were carried off by the angels, right?)

ClemFire2026-01-27 18:36

Heaven just feels like it's in the sky in this world and the angels don't feel divine

mekerpan2026-01-27 18:54

But they CALL themselves "real divine messengers". ;-)

ClemFire2026-01-27 19:10

Of course, no one has never used the guise of a higher power to enforce their own wills (insert real world history meme)

TnAdct12026-01-27 19:22

Just as long as she doesn't give it to an Oompa Loompa.

Lenoislive2026-01-27 15:26

A healing anime indeed

Mr_Zaroc2026-01-27 22:07

Yeah, but also not really.
Like they keep hinting at all the bad shit demons do, they truly are evil, except if Doux intervenes.

And then its a 11/10 healing show.
But their world is properly fucked

LedgeEndDairy2026-01-28 01:46

The show kind of skirts around it a bit, but seems to imply that demons aren't actually evil inherently, they are just told they're evil so they are.

Seems like Doux is going to tear down that system. We saw it start today with the Demon King being perfectly fine with a vassal-state village rather than outright dominion, including protection and treating them properly.

HugeRichard112026-01-28 02:23

Idk about not being evil. Last episode they mentioned they used to have the dog eat wounded people(granted they were soldiers) but more importantly would be okay with the enslaved girl being eaten

LedgeEndDairy2026-01-28 03:10

Again I said not evil *inherently*. They are told they are supposed to be evil, so that's just what they are.

But Doux is proving that wrong. We see demons acting kind toward each other, and even tolerating nice actions and treating humans better all around.

HugeRichard112026-01-28 03:22

I see what you mean basically the idea they’re being pushed to act this way. Kind of like propaganda is telling them to do those things because that’s how they should be. That would make sense as the conviction of why they say demons are the way they are, feels like it was fed to them.

LeonKevlar2026-01-27 15:41

* [**Little Red Riding Doux**](https://i.imgur.com/tlCD6sZ.jpeg)

I love how Jahi is telling Doux not to tell the villagers that she's a demon [when she's wearing a hoodie that has horns.](https://i.imgur.com/d7bNpTU.jpeg) And that didn't matter anyway since [Doux herself admits that she's a demon.](https://i.imgur.com/59IAg4d.jpeg) xD

It's hilarious how Ahriman is [slowly becoming a benevolent leader](https://i.imgur.com/ouzlie7.jpeg) instead of a tyrant. I thought he was gonna bring those people to the castle to work the mines, but [he actually left them there and just posted guards](https://i.imgur.com/fpNme41.jpeg).

[Not a great first look for these angels](https://i.imgur.com/r86z4c4.jpeg) when the first thing we see them do is kidnap people. I know they mean well, but it's hilarious that those villagers saw them as the bad guys.

[Doux and Mayu meeting for the first time was fun.](https://i.imgur.com/1LnqB6v.jpeg) I'm gonna guess that Mayu is probably the son of whoever's ruling heaven, considering [the promise he made with Doux.](https://i.imgur.com/hTG5XTd.jpeg) Look at Doux already making future peace deals with the angels. <3

Qweasd112026-01-27 15:55

Dou is [adorable](https://imgur.com/a/8ANY9oW) in [anything](https://imgur.com/a/OXfW1mC)

Mr_Zaroc2026-01-27 22:05

I love how her dad is having a proper crash out destroying his home and doux just shows up in face paint and wants to go drawing.
And jahy has to handle the situation.

Also they have never mentioned Doux mother, like is the demon lord pampering her because of the missing mom or just his matetnal instincts.
But who couldn't pamper her

raevnos2026-01-28 04:23

I assume mom is the demon lady standing next to Doux and dad at the end of the OP.

djthomp2026-01-27 16:27

Very cute hoodie, when the Demon Lord didn't explain it as anything other than protection I figured it would be something good but he still surprised me.

This rapture is very piecemeal if they're only taking one village at a time.

Future demon lord Doux is going to bring about a great era of peace.

ClemFire2026-01-27 18:42

A demon who was meant to live in an era of peace. Between the wholesomeness there is more world building than I expected

Background_Formal9402026-01-27 16:31

Doux cannot be stopped she can charm anyone from demon to human now to angel.

tripleaamin2026-01-27 16:32

I knew going in Doux would feed the "Divine Messanger" the torture apples. Though it was satisfying. Though papa stepped in a heartbeat lol.

Not too surprised Doux made a friend with the Angel. She is truly the one to bring peace among demons and the humans.

Queue_Jumping_Quack2026-01-27 17:16

I wonder if the Demon King's heart is in the whole "lets make Dou evil" bit... he just seems to enjoy pampering his daugther. Poor Jahy has an impossible task... though he has his tiggers, and angels seem to set him off.

Seems the angels of this universe are kind of slackers who just hang around in heaven... mostly. There is also Mayu, the bratty and overbearing kid who heads to the demon world to fight them all by himself, but ends up in all sorts of trouble and get mostly pulled out of it by Dou.

Oh, is Mayu actually royalty? Don't tell me these crazy kids are going to end up in some insane royal marriage someday...

ClemFire2026-01-27 18:40

The two gave me a bit of an Anya/Damian vibe

Queue_Jumping_Quack2026-01-27 19:02

Haha yeah I can see that, though Dou seems more honest while Anya is usually trying to play her part in the "Friendship Scheme" and trick Damian into becoming her friend to help Loid's mission.

ClemFire2026-01-27 19:13

Oh for sure Anya is more of a trickstar which is more realistic for a kid her age, but Doux is known for her kindness even if she doesn’t understand why doing the right thing is good, it feels good to her.

I’m honestly finding more to talk about in this series than I expected I would

FLorianGran2026-01-27 17:44

This show asks big questions like “what if being raptured was really annoying”

Mr_Zaroc2026-01-27 22:08

More like what if being raptured is actually being kidnapped into a different realm/nation.
Demon lord was justified in his rage

ThisOneTimeAtLolCamp2026-01-27 18:09

Ah.. so precious in all her outfits.

My favourite part of the week is when this airs.

ClemFire2026-01-27 18:38

"[I think... making up is the real fight](https://imgur.com/a/wUlOThg)," Doux

She is a Vinland Saga enjoyer

Mr_Zaroc2026-01-27 22:12

Yeah Doux is spitting the hard truths.

Fighting is easy, but understanding the other side is hard.

**But** despite the angels being depicted as kidnapping zealots, they do have a point.
The demons actually enjoy torturing and killing humans, except Doux who is somehow slowly converting everyone.

Would be kinda funny if in the end it turns out she wasn't so blindly naive and just played stupid while being converting everyones morals

ClemFire2026-01-27 22:49

That is true the other demons at the very least don’t have any qualms about hurting humans, but at the very least the show has made it a point not to show Jahi or Doux’s dad doing it on screen outside of episode 1. That’s if you don’t count them still forcing their human slaves to work… which is pretty big.

Anyways just from a vague sense of vibes I don’t feel like they are heartless killing machines, so I’m hopeful that Doux will slowly get them to change their ways.

Long story short I feel like this story has more meat to chew on than just Doux’s cute antics

HugeRichard112026-01-28 02:26

Such a deep line, I didn't expect it at all.

BornfromDarkness2026-01-27 20:14

So the torture apples just does a upset stomach instead of killing…

Mr_Zaroc2026-01-27 21:59

Lol, I didn't expect angels to show up and kidnap a bunch of humans to "safe" them.
I mean they angels are basically right, demons seemed dreadful until Doux showed up, but carrying them away holding their heads is just perfectly weird.

Also the songs never get old, god I wish we could have such a positive outlook on the world like doux

karer3is2026-01-27 22:55

An angel that wants to become the "King of Heaven"... I might be a little rusty on my theology, but I'm pretty sure that didn't end well last time

HugeRichard112026-01-28 02:27

I thought the cat she healed in the beginning of the show was going be the divine messenger, but I guess it was just a normal cat all along.

zappingbluelight2026-01-28 09:30

Tbh, under the demon king control isn't exactly bad. There are 2 types of tyrant. One that take your food, and one just want you to work for them, in return you get protection, overall you live a fulfilling life. Even their underground slaves live well and eat well.

Idk what the angel mean by paradise, but I love working, it gives me a sense of self worth.

SYZekrom2026-01-28 10:27

Oh oh oh lemme guess, Doux will actually listen for once and try to hand out the apples to the humans without mentioning they're poisoned, but the greedy lord ogre thing will steal the apples and die to the poison and Doux will become the village humans' savior.

Oh nvm she told him she's a demon. Wonder how it's gonna go

Ok she gave it to him herself b/c he loves (inflicting) pain and they're pain apples. lol.
