Hi zpizy_ice, it seems like you might be looking for an anime's watch order!

On our [watch order wiki](https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/wiki/watch_order) you can find suggested orders for a ton of shows (hopefully including the one you're looking for), as well as information that will help you decide on what to watch for the more complicated series *<cough>* Fate *<cough>*.

I think Demon Slayer is a very, very fun anime. Its a good time. AOT is good too, but I think DS is more enjoyable.

aot will always be my anime goat. but i have to warn you: you NEED to pay attention. if you wanna something just to "put to 'watch' while the time pass", demon slayer is your answer.
if you wanna something that is live changing, aot may serve you

It depends on what you want. Both are very good shows. Both have above average animation and visuals. Both have good stories. Both have well written characters and good voice acting (I watched dub for both, I would highly recommend AOT’s dub) Demon slayer is a beautiful series. But AOT overall left more of an impact on me. I think largely the story matters more to me than visuals, and while demons slayer is by no means a bad story, it is definitely more lighthearted than AOT. AOT was an insane watch. Do with that info what you will; i would watch demon slayer first and save AOT for “dessert”

Based on the three comments that i got, I'm definitely watching DS first. Where can I watch the AOT dub tho?

Both are worth watching but AoT is finished so maybe start with that?

For Demon Slayer you still have to wait for all the movies to come out for it to be finished.

zpizy_ice2026-01-27 15:19

Ohhh, this one changes something.. how many movies are still in progress?

Lodju2026-01-27 15:20

1 is in theaters already and 2 in production.

zpizy_ice2026-01-27 15:21

Got it, ty !!

I would start with AoT for 2 reasons. First, it’s complete, everything is out there and you can bing it over several days or however you want. It is also a lot darker. It has very little comic relief moments. It goes hard and doesn’t let up. Second, after that, you’ll need something more lighthearted. Demon is intense but has a lot of comedy built in. Also the fight scenes are more geared towards building tension with that payoff you get from watching over the action movies (think Jackie Chan, the early MCU, or Jason Statham). Also, Demon still has 2 more movies before it ends.

Its really up to preference. Aot can actually be kinda a lot to take in. So maybe watch the first 2 seasons then give yourself a break with demon slayers first season. Then watch a bit more aot, then watch season 2 of ds, then watch the final season of aot, and then finish out DS.

Also im sure you know, but DS still has 2 movies left to finish out the show, so you dont need to rush it unless you want to see them in theaters.

I personally prefer demon slayer, i think the story is more consistent. Whete as aot tends to jump extreme lengths in the plot at times. If your not paying full attention and if your not fully ready to rewind amd check something again, you will have moments of confusion.

Warning that Demon Slayer has one or two characters that you might find loud and annoying (but they are fine by the time you get to Infinity Castle).
