Yep. And more specifically during the scene they use -刻 read as `-koku` which refers directly to the a "traditional" hour.

Where normally when referring to "modern" hours you'd use 時 (read `jikan`) or in certain situation just 時 (read `ji`).

So instead of saying 一時間 (read `ichi-jikan`), Aresh said 一刻 (read: `ikkoku` / one traditional hour).

Tbh I don't know why they didn't translate it to the literal time in the subtitles but alas.

So I think it's clear now that the prime minister isn't interested in Sei personally. In that scene where Sei handed him the expedition budget, he's fully focused on the documents while Aresh is the one flabbergasted that Sei spent most of the night working on them rather than resting.

Aresh does seem to feel a twinge of jealousy though - when he finds out the prime minister carried Sei to the infirmary. It could be the source of some conflict but I'm glad there's no actual triangle happening.

A lot more healing and familiarising in this episode! Aresh is clearly head over heels for our Bean Counter. But the latter is still clueless and only thinking about work and budgets. Glad golden retriever boy gave him a glow up for the banquet. Wonder if we'll get a dance or something next week?

I'm curious about how this world treats same sex relationships. Is it normal? Would it be scandalous for Aresh to openly show his feelings for Sei? There haven't been any hints about this one or the other. Aresh's vice commander seemed to assume he's into some palace lady, or so the subs said - not sure if he implied any gender when they were talking about his first love (awww).

Oh, and Aresh will be part of the expedition, I'm guessing. Will they take Sei along? The title of the next episode is "I went on an expedition" - who could the I refer to?

More of than not homosexual relationships are banned or looked down upon due to not being able to reproduce (which means its a 'waste of intimacy" in some cultures) as there is no religious reason here. Nobility was often expected to produce an heir

Pretty sure he just didn't want to tell the prime minister without permission because that might anger Aresh. I don't think he implied anything about it being accepted or not.

I disagree about Karvada not being interested in Seiichirou personally. I think Karvada really respects Seiichirou as an employee, he respects the work he does. He stopped going in the direction he was going to because he wanted to go see Seiichirou.

I don't think it was weird for him to leave with the documents, I thought it was a comedic scene where Aresh starts to scold Seiichirou so he runs away from the problem excited with the new report he got from Seiichirou. Like his favorite novelist handed him a new short book or something and he's eager to read it.

Yes, and that shows his interest in Seiichirou is less personal and more professional. He has only expressed interest in him for his competence and his intellect which can help him with the governance of this nation. He cares about Sei's wellbeing because he's a valuable and productive contributor.

If he really cared about Sei as a person he would share in Aresh's concern about Sei working to get those documents ready when he ought to have been resting and recovering. Yes, it was played for laughs but it also shows that he only views Sei as a useful resource, not a person.

Yeah with this episode I think I finally got a read on the Prime Minister. He's not malicious at all, but he sometimes has an antagonist aura because he is only interested in Sei as a worker. It doesn't matter to him nearly as much if he overworks himself like it does to Aresh.

For most of the convo he doesn't imply a gender, but neither do the subs ("someone" etc), until the last little bit about "her" working in the castle. my audio comprehension is lacking even in english so I'm not 100%, but I think he does use "otome" for his hypthetical person, which is why the subs switch to she/her.

I do agree they got off pretty easy, but Sei's reasoning makes sense too, since every knight is precious to the kingdom and those who will join the Saint's expedition in particular (plus those 2 mostly cares about the money, so Sei can hit them where they hurts XD)

Yeah, both options aren't that safe. If he joins the expedition, he would be in danger because of his really low resistance to magic. If he stays, he will overwork himself and may even drink som other tonics due to aresh not being with him for a while. And aresh would be worried about sei all the time and not be able to focus on the expedition at all

And yeah, they better dance together now! Ahah

That interrogation scene was so satisfying to watch, Karvada's timing was great and I'm glad they also turned on each other. The two big bosses and their vice captains gathered around them, they messed up big time.

It's amusing how Seiichirou went about their punishment, even if they don't think it's enough, Seiichirou thought up the best punishment that'd bring him satisfaction. I thought it was funny when he said both orders now owe him lol. I'm looking forward to see how he uses that.

It was interesting to see how jealous Aresh was because Karvada calls Seiichirou by his name. His feelings are becoming more apparent and I'm wondering if Seiichirou will notice it first or if Aresh will be the one to let him know, I'm going with the latter. Orjef freaking out over talkative Aresh was so funny.

I'm really liking Karvada, I thought he was going to be the exploitative type but he really cares for Seiichirou. The way he got happy about the report Seiichirou made as he ran away when Aresh started scolding Seiichirou was amusing. A little part of me wouldn't have minded a love triangle sub-plot with him but I don't think it'll come.

Norbert is such a golden retriever, I like how excited he is about Seiichirou being invited to the banquet. I'm sure Aresh is going to be blown away by Seiichirou's glow up.

It's actually insane. At least the comments are positive. The place where I watch it even up to episode 4 now there's people in the comments being like "Wow this is so trash why can't the commander be a sexy lady" or "this would go so hard if it was two women" and I'm like y'all please just let us have this. You have thousands of other animes that are nothing but breasts and 10,000 year old dragon girls, the MC being a clueless unlikable idiot while there's just 5 girls constantly fighting for his attention. One of the comments complained about this stuff being "forced down everyone's throats it's disgusting" like bro you clicked on the show and watched it for three episodes. Anyway, before I rant some more...

It's just refreshing to have an anime that isn't the above stuff, even if I don't think this one is overall that good either (It's fine, I just want more of a focus on the actual isekai and their abilities part). I've started just avoiding any anime where the thumbnail is just the MC and 3-5 women because I know they're going to be the focus and I'm going to hate it.

I'm surprised Kondu approved letting off the guys who beat him up with such a light punishment. Then again, I guess he does know the armed forces of the kingdom and feels they really are needed, especially the Holy maiden's bodyguard. Its unfortunate though that they completely dropped the girl's storyline that she may be in danger fighting the miasma; like he doesn't know how much magic power it takes or if she has proper skills.

I liked the suspense of the doctor having to stall on Karvada demanding he treat Kondu but not having an adequate explanation of why he couldn't heal him. The doctor's explanation that Kondu couldn't handle the necessary magic to heal him does sound suspicious if you don't know the context. I also think that Aresh would be more mad that the doctor is "healing" Kondu like with kissing and and sex, it'd be like he was doing it with his man. The doctor being so scared of Aresh makes me suspect he's the only one who knows he's gay and in love with Kondu.

It may have seemed odd that Aresh took the money for healing Kondu but I suspect it was because if he told the truth that he was so concerned because he's in love with him, that might scare Kondu away from his supervision. I think Kondu was going to suggest that other people and maybe the doctor assist Aresh in immunizing him to magic but Aresh started healing before he could complete his thought since he didn't like that idea.

One thing I thought was weird was when Kondu said it was too convenient that Karvada just happened to find him, as if he's somehow involved in beating him up. If that were so, Karvada would have just left him there or possibly finished him off rather than go thru the great effort of carrying him to the infirmary and demanding the doctor treat him. Maybe Kondu wasn't thinking clearly from having been beaten.

In the German translation they still use the formal you - I guess maybe also the Japanese equivalent would a formal address of the name, but I found it funny that they sleep with each other (even „just for magic“) and still are so distant in language haha.

Loved the episode a lot otherwise!

Talk about a genius idea attack the guy that the government swore to take care of that has caught the eye of the commander of the third knight order, and the interest of the prime minister. The fact that they were also dumb enough to basically admit to being where the attack happened when it happened.

I really hope Sei realizes that things like sitting in Aresh's lap isn't needed for the treatment but in order to have an emotional closeness. I'm seriously rooting for Aresh to get through Sei's obliviousness here. The man isn't being subtle about what he wants.
