My complaint about JJK s3 ep 4.

It’s the music,it’s like a Hollywood action movie soundtrack,it didn’t fit the narrative,a mellow emo ballad would had worked better to accompany Maki’s rage and sadness.Mappa dropped the ball on the ep.That’s why they are behind Ufotable,Ufotable has amazing directors that fits the bgm to the emotions of an ep.

I agree that the music selections were horrible. It attempted to make a massacre a comedy, and it didn't work.

I loved the music in it.

Also, Maki wasnt really filled with rage. Surface level emotions didnt really drive what she did, her love and promise to her sister did. Maki was above all of those people. She doesnt think twice about them.

I'm not Japanese, *and thats the point*. In the manga she isnt flying through yelling or screaming or monologuing about her emotions.

She wipes them out, and she moves on. She is purely cold-blooded. Any semblance of emotion Maki shows is reserved for her sister.

Re-read the manga,you see her rage in her eyes as she cuts down the Zenin.She isn’t emotionless as most overseas fans say she is.

Ive read it twice. I think yal need to read it again, as well as understand and pay attention to how Gege draws chatacters in specific situations. Almost every character has had their eyes drawn similarly in intense situations that require hyper focus.

Her eyes look the same in closeup shots. She's calm when fighting her dad, calm when speaking to Naoya before their fight, calm when fighting him, and shes calm as she leaves.

Id argue shes reached a state of zen.

Literally every review I've seen has just been mixed at worst. Contrary to what people keep pushing it's not being universally hated it's just the people with the worst takes are being paraded around by both sides.

Some Japanese fans simply didn't like it being more action focused while some loved the action. It's not black or white it's just another episode and now everyone is at each other's throats because click bait articles and posts are trending.

The issue is people not comprehending the fact Maki wasnt filled with rage during this part. She is filled with sadness and thats perfectly conveyed in the episode, but her massacre of the Zenin clan is cold and precise.

She's cold and methodical and only speaks when dealing with the members that personally wronged her and Mai. This is a culling to her not a massacre with any ideology. If they had given her what she needed the cull could've been avoided but the Zenin do what they usually do and this time they got burned for it.

I found the entire episode very interesting as we finally see just how rotten this society is in ways that someone like Gojo understands to some extent but as a man with power and privilege he could never truly see it the way women like Mai and Maki did.

Like what else did ufotable give in last 5 years except demon slayers seasons/movies(all with great quality).they announed a non demon slayer movie around 3-4 years ago still didn't release

Mappa gave chainsaw, jujutsu, hells paradise,vinland saga, campfire cooking.(all with great quality)

Ufotable gives great animation but its hard for them to focus on multiple series
