If you're a fan of western high fantasy tropes, comedy, or deep characters, I'd direct you to the "Wizardry" / "Dungeons & Dragons" anime called "Dungeon Meshi". It gives an unserious first impression but that won't last beyond the first cour (where it becomes a hilarious "Made in Abyss"). I also recommend "Made in Abyss" (immersive-soundtrack, dark-souls, primordial-evil).

If anybody suggests that you watch "Goblin Slayer", just remember my words. It tries to be a D&D anime, but achieves **nothing**. It's hopelessly "anime" in the blandest way possible (tropes, not people, a Gary Stu surrounded by his forgettable entourage).

"Frieren" is written on top of a Dragon-Quest template, but has great writing **despite** using Dragon Quest elements (hero/brave and demon-lord premise).

There's more fantasy anime of course.
