Looking for Recs as Newbie
Like title! I’ve watched some of the popular ones and would like to get some more recommendations. I know of famous ones like One Piece or Naruto but I feel like I don’t have it in me to finish that many eps.
Animes I’ve watched and loved:
Hell’s Paradise
Jujutsu Kaisen
Attack on Titan
Demon Slayer
Toradora! (doesn’t really fit this theme but it was cute)
Animes I started but unfortunately didn’t finish:
Chainsaw Man (a little too sexual for preference)
Dandadan (I couldn’t vibe with the plot(?)
I personally prefer animes that introduce a sort of “ultimate quest” earlier on and I think that’s what keeps me watching. Would appreciate some recommendations like these!

I'd say it's very unlikely he'd see much from some new licensing deal. I don't think anime works the way you expect.
Sagrada Reset
Promised Neverland (season one only)

A recent example: I liked Oregairu the anime until I read the manga. I don't really "dislike" it now or anything, but it brought my overall score down a few pegs.
I dislike parts of it now might be a way to articulate it.
(12 episodes available on Crunchyroll, 1 sequel movie available on Netflix) Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress — decided to edit so I can add this since you listed Attack on Titan as a show you loved; very similar vibe to Attack on Titan, animated by the same studio. Think Attack on Titan meets Train to Busan with a steampunk medieval Japanese aesthetic; survivors are trying to move through an undead hellscape on a moving train while fighting off said undead. Similar to Attack on Titan, the main character gets abilities after being experimented on to be part undead.
(2 shorts, 25 episodes, available on Netflix) Little Witch Academia — it's like Harry Potter, but with none of the baggage and with way better world building. Charming characters, stylish animation, makes you root for a main character who kinda sucks at doing and learning magic, but tries really hard at it because she wants to become a great witch like one she saw as a child. Originally made as two short films before becoming its own TV-length series, not required since the series is the complete version of the story but still recommended to watch first (Little Witch Academia, followed by Little Witch Academia: the Enchanted Parade) as fun, yet self-contained introduction to the characters and style.
(24 episodes, available on Netflix) Delicious In Dungeon — same studio as Little Witch Academia with similar, yet distinct visual flair. It's about adventurers learning ways to eat fantasy monsters while on a mission to save the main character's sister after escaping a dragon attack. Laid-back, comedic, yet action-packed energy like a tabletop fantasy game.
(26 episodes, available on Crunchyroll) The Vision of Escaflowne — unique blend of epic, romantic, high fantasy with magic giant robots and political intrigue between kingdoms. Follows a schoolgirl who gets transported to a fantasy world and needs to find her way back home to modern (mid-90s) Japan.
(64 episodes, available on Crunchyroll) Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood — Longer pick, but it's a classic show everyone should watch through at least once. Brothers use in-universe magic system to play god and try bringing someone back from the dead, face serious consequences and go on a globetrotting journey to find a way to undo their mistake.
(Wildcard Pick! 22 episodes, available on Crunchyroll) Psycho-Pass Season 1 — Putting this in to diversify my suggestions. Not a fantasy anime, but a dystopian sci-fi police procedural. Follows special agents enforcing a system that decides who is and isn't criminally dangerous with an algorithmically assigned number based on their mental state. Very philosophical with an engaging cat-and-mouse dynamic of a veteran agent chasing an emotionless criminal mastermind. Don't have to watch the later seasons, they aren't as good (but the first movie is really fun though!)
Senyu (4min per episode, funny as well)
What I’d recommend, though, is JJBA (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure). The anime currently has six parts, with the seventh part, Steel Ball Run, releasing later this year. Each part has its own unique story and setting. It’s also the second-highest-rated manga on MAL. I’d recommend watching it and catching up before part 7 airs.
I started watching it in August of last year. I’m currently on part 5 and thoroughly enjoying the story so far. If you want I could give you more recs.
