What anime do you think is way better on a rewatch?
I’ve noticed that some anime hit very differently the second time around. Whether it’s picking up on details you missed, understanding characters better or just appreciating the story more once you know where it’s going.
Curious what anime you ended up liking more on a rewatch.

Probably the strongest example of this for me, with how dense and esoteric it is. And how it's one of my 10/10s, but up until the last two or so episodes during the first time watching it I very much felt I could conceivably have ended up giving it a very low rating instead if it felt like how it ended completely didn't either explain or justify everything which came before in a satisfying enough manner.
Mystery series or series with a strong mystery element are also often like this. One of my other top favorite series and one of the ones I've rewatched most, also one of my 10s, etc., is Higurashi, and up until that got further along into it, especially like midway through the first season, I also didn't know if it was going to end up as a poorly written incoherent mess just doing things for the sake of it.
Other series that are much more poorly written and have ended super rushed or without one or more major things being sufficiently explained or resolved definitely put you in that paranoid defensive mindset of being wary of wasting your time and energy. But if I didn't check some of that caution at the door and have faith and patience, I wouldn't have found gems like Lain and Higurashi.
Second one should be FMAB
Watching as a kid and in college were two very different experiences.
"Why is Amuro acting like an unhinged diva for episodes at a time?"
Becomes
"Amuro is a child soldier experiencing trauma and profound loss."
There's actual calculus (at least the symbols) in a few scenes if you pay attention.
The colony designs were inspired by an actual book by an actual scientist.
Knowing how it ended, I saw Alicia in a whole new light on my rewatch
As a second timer you're finding all the hints the show left that you totally missed, all these random little tidbits that only make sense in retrospect or these other new pieces of information that link back to things that happen in the future. The second time through Re:Zero is a completely different show form the first time.
Also if you know you can delaythe last episode of season one so there isn't a good end until the show is fully over.
First time: lol budget abuse.
Second time I appreciated how each segment was fitting together. It's not just a bunch of skits, it's a story about friendship. And all those odd moments in between both keep the pace perfect, but also connect with one another.
If you're only ever watched it as clips, definitely see it through in full.
*Akudama Drive* is one where you should at least re-watch the OP after finishing the show, since it hides some interesting things in plain sight.
If you ask this question again in the future, *Gnosia* will most likely be my answer. I imagine rewatching will be profoundly different when you know the characters better and know their motivations and can spot their lies. Also there's some really interesting symbolism with the fish tank that would make a lot more sense knowing who's hunting whom.
And my go to serie to force my friend to watch with is Vinland Saga :3
Youuu haveee no enemyyy
I think freiren really benefited from the second watch for me. I loved it the first time, and chose to watch it last December in preparation for the new season, and loved it even more the second time. It was like visiting an old friend — everything was familiar, but there was stuff I didn’t note before, so there was plenty of novelty. (Plus, the English VAs are pretty good!)
