What are some more animes like Vinland Saga I should watch.
I usually don't like or watch anime, I love avatar the last airbender but I wouldnt consider that anime. I just started watching Vinland Saga and it's absolute peak, but I need a show to watch after I'm done binging it. I would say I like animes that dont have like magic and stuff. I also like ones that have the same art style as Vinland Saga (majestic).

I'd also recommend Sonny Boy for another kind of theme/symbolism heavy show that's heavily invested in telling a story that represents leaving childhood and entering society as an adult.
There are definitely more shows in the "deep/poignant philosophy" type of direction if you want more of those. Maybe look toward shows like Tatami Galaxy or March Comes in Like a Lion after those.
If the action parts of Vinland Saga are still important to you, but you want some meaningful themes, you could also try out some Mecha shows like 86 or Gundam Iron Blooded Orphans. These mech shows tend to have a lot of political theory and themes in them while also having very dark, violent war torn worlds.
It has enough similarities to Vinland Saga that I think you'll enjoy it.
The Apothecary Diaries
- Sword of the Stranger - Medieval Japan action, I though that would be fine.
- Monster/Pluto - same creator if you are looking for more grounded crime dramas
- Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit - the Asian low fantasy aspects you might enjoy
- Legend of the Galactic Heroes - Watch the first two prequel films then skip to EP3 of the main OVA - if you want a more dense political drama and don't mind space operas
- Golden Kamuy - Another pretty good historical drama, adaption is okay (really the CGI bears are kinda the only wonky thing about it) and it really puts a light on Japan's other indigenous culture the Ainu, and early 20th century Japanese history.
- Historie - upcoming adaption - focused on one of Alexander the Great's secretary (who did a lot more) - teaser is out - not date yet though - closest thing to VS in my opinion
- Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia - Don't know a lot about the manga, that said it is set in a unique period of history - Medieval Persia and has a gorgeous art style going off the trailers
