another seasonal request cuz i don't have time to give 1-3 episode rule to every anime

back again to ask whether there's some new good (not generic and not new seasons of old anime) shounen/seinen anime so far apart from Sentenced to be a Hero and Fate Strange Fake

Hi BlackReaper23, it seems like you might be looking for new anime to watch!

The users of this subreddit came up with [a chart of anime recommendations for newcomers and veterans](https://i.redd.it/0w1v880jtq661.png) and [an awesome longer flowchart](https://i.redd.it/vdzlkodz19c71.png). Maybe you can find something there that you'll like \^.\^

You might also find our [Recommendation Wiki](https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/wiki/recommendations) or [daily thread](/r/anime/search?q=flair%3Adaily&restrict_sr=on&sort=new&t=week) helpful.

if you have the time to check out everyone’s opinions to form your own then you have time to watch 1-3 episodes of each anime.

ComplaintPolice2026-01-29 02:42

But but but... People hate developing their own opinions and would rather rely on others 😅

ActualRound76992026-01-29 02:43

I swear. I don’t have the time to think for myself but I have the time to post on Reddit to get random people to think for me!

BlackReaper232026-01-29 19:05

"hello anon, i really like this anime from this season for this reason, i think it's worth giving it a shot"

you don't have to sound so butthurt

Guilty-Tell2026-01-29 03:11

Yeah it always baffled me aswell. If you have a specific genre and you want some recommendations, maybe some older stuff, thats fine I sometimes did find some hidden gems browsing these posts. It is always the same lame is xyz good tho. Bruh if you want to know just browse the list of animes airing right now check the description and the rating and either go for ir or don't.

ActualRound76992026-01-29 03:27

that’s exactly how I pick my follows. “does the title and synopsis sound fun? I’m in”

EpsilonX2026-01-29 03:12

I'm gonna have to strongly disagree with you here. OP seems to know exactly what they want and is asking for suggestions because they don't have time to watch everything. I really don't see any issue with that whatsoever.

According to MAL, there's 62 new anime airing this season. Some of them are sequels and shorts, so let's round down to 40. 23 minute episodes, 3 episodes each...that's 2760 minutes, or 46 hours. If you spend 2 hours watching per day, that's 23 days. I definitely don't have time for that.

Now, idk about you, but it only takes me about 10 to write out a post and come back a few hours later to read the replies. Seems much easier to just ask around and see if there are any obvious places to start. We're all here to share our opinions on anime, so...yeah, I don't see the issue here.

BlackReaper232026-01-29 19:08

surprisingly toxic community... getting downvoted for a simple suggestion request

timpkmn892026-01-29 03:14

How long does it take you to read a Reddit comment?

N7CombatWombat2026-01-29 02:41

Hard to tell what's good this early in, and it's hard to tell what it is you think is good, and hard to give recs when you don't tell us what it is you like in an anime, or even a genre.

ActualRound76992026-01-29 02:44

they said any Shōnen/seinen like Fate Strange/Fake and Sentenced to be a hero

N7CombatWombat2026-01-29 02:46

Those are demographics, not genre's, it doesn't tell us anything about what they like in fiction.

ActualRound76992026-01-29 02:47

fair fair. Aren’t you also a MOD here? genuine question and no attack meant. have y’all ever sat around debating on redefining low quality posts and banning them?

N7CombatWombat2026-01-29 02:51

We talk about that often, and it's always a hard line to toe, things are pretty strict right now compared to a lot of other anime subs and we still get some pretty low effort posts, but, go too hard and it stifles good discussion further and makes it harder to impossible for people new to the sub.

But, it is something we're always looking at in terms of tweaks both big and small.

crispy_doggo12026-01-29 02:51

Nope, just those imo.

Lots of good sequels this season at least

BlackReaper232026-01-29 19:10

yeah can't argue with that, season's stacked with sequels

duncandun2026-01-29 02:54

Journal with witch, you and I are polar opposites, the invisible man and his soon to be wife

MusubiKazesaru2026-01-29 06:45

Here are the most worthwhile Winter 2026 anime airing:

MF Ghost S3

Mato Seihei no Slave 2

Seihantai na Kimi to Boku

Golden Kamuy Saishuushou

Medalist S2

Sousou no Frieren S2

JUJUTSU KAISEN Shimetsu Kaiyu Zenpen

Darwin Jihen

Oshi no Ko S3

-------------------------------------------------------------

There are a few other solid ones, but they aren't standout titles. Slave is pretty borderline.
